Christmas Read With Me Recommendations From Award Winning Author Donna Fletcher Crow

Helping Seniors Deal With Loneliness During The Holidays - New Book, Helping Yourself Grow Old By Award Winning Author Frances Fuller Addresses The Unique Challenges Of Seniors Living Alone

Multi-award winning author Frances Fuller offers a unique outlook on aging based on her own experience. The book will be of special interest to older readers who might find themselves isolated during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A recent article posted on Time.com addresses the issue of loneliness, specifically the senior population, and how loneliness affects both physical and mental health. Almost 30% said they socialized with friends, family or neighbors once a week or less."

"But not this year. Apart from harvest and Halloween parties being locked down due to the Coronavirus, in our area devastating wildfires have turned our sky brown, making eyes water and noses run. Taking long walks—crunchy leaves or not—has become a health hazard. And, it seems we have the best of it. In surrounding states large areas, including people’s homes, are consumed in flames, while other parts of the nation are ripped by hurricanes.

"If, like myself, you are missing your normal fall pleasures and escapes, I invite you to read with me as I return to some old favorites that evoke autumns of happier times.

Top of my list is always Jane Austen—in this case, 'Persuasion', Austen’s last and “most autumnal” novel. Here, Anne Eliot undertakes an autumn stroll: '[P]leasure in the walk must arise from the exercise and the day, from the view of the last smiles of the year upon the tawny leaves, and withered hedges, and from repeating to herself some few of the thousand poetical descriptions extant of autumn, that season of peculiar and inexhaustible influence on the mind of taste and tenderness, that season which had drawn from every poet, worthy of being read, some attempt at description, or some lines of feeling.'

"Another long-time favorite is Laurie Lee’s 'Cider With Rosie'. Although it begins in June, we are given a wonderful account of that autumn when the young Lee arrives 'at school just three feet tall and fatly wrapped in scarves' by his sisters. A wonderful evocation of by-gone days.

"My delight in autumn is exemplified in my own novels as well. The nostalgic 'The Flame Ignites' is set in October of 1984 when the New England hillsides are ablaze with redgold autumn and reflects my love of having lived in New England. My heroine and her cousin go for a rambling drive to buy pumpkins at a roadside stand, then 'home with golden afternoon sun filtering through the autumn foliage and scarlet and orange leaves drifting down on them.'

"In the opening of my Victorian true crime novel 'A Most Inconvenient Death', Lord Danvers takes to the sky in his aerostat and arrives at the coming of age party for his old friend’s son, skimming 'barely above the autumn-bright trees.'

After 650,000 Worldwide Deaths, God’s Wrath Continues As COVID-19 Death Rides The Pale Horse From The Revelation Of John

John the apostle pictures the coming of end times through the Four Horses and the Four Riders found in The Revelation of John 6:1-8.

On March 18, 2020, Anne Graham-Lotz posted a blog titled Is COVID-19 a Sign of the End? where she wrote, "There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven … When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:11, 28. COVID-19 has created national fear in a way I have not witnessed in my lifetime. It’s almost as though our nation is being attacked by an invisible enemy seeking to destroy us.”

At his website for Jesus’ Second Coming https://dazzlinglight.org/, John the apostle reported that COVID-19 released God’s wrath upon the world and that the “invisible enemy” Anne Graham-Lotz refers to can be seen coming into view today in the Four Horses and the Four Riders found in The Revelation to John 6:1-8.

I watched as the Lamb opened the first of seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a loud voice like thunder, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a white horse! In this News Release, John the apostle reported that: “COVID-19 targeted Italy with a death rate over 13.5%, with Italy reporting 27,700 deaths from 204,000 confirmed cases compared to 228,000 deaths worldwide from 3,190,000 confirmed cases.” And John the apostle now sees this “invisible enemy” shooting arrows of death and coming into view as the Rider on the White Horse.

Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword. The Revelation of John 6:3-4. About this passage, William Barclay wrote: “It is still true that the nation in which there is division between individuals and classes and hatred based on competitive ambition and selfish desire is doomed.” The Revelation of John Volume Two page 7.

On May 22, 2020, John the apostle reported in a 24/7 News Release that: God Sends COVID-19 to Purge Christianity for Jesus Return to Galilee. In this News Release, John the apostle reported: “As COVID-19 sends thousands of Christian Churches into bankruptcy, holds billions of Catholics yearning to fill a desolated Vatican City, and fills millions of American Christian's hearts with medical and economic fear; John the apostle continues to prophecy that COVID-19 is an Act of God intended to purge Christianity in preparation for Jesus' Second Coming to Galilee on September 19, 2022.” And now, COVID-19 coupled with the escalating racial unrest ignited by police killings, John the apostle sees this “invisible enemy” coming into view as the Rider on the Fiery Red Horse.

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the living creature say, “Come!” I looked and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wage, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wage, and do not damage the oil and the wine. The Revelation of John 6:5-6. Barclay interprets this encounter to mean: “The tragedy has nearly always been that nature produces enough, and more than enough, but there are many people to whom that abundance never comes. It is as if John was symbolically indicating that nature itself protests when the gifts it offers are used selfishly and irresponsibly for the luxury of the few at the expense of the many.” The Revelation of John Volume Two page 10.

On May 1, 2020, John the apostle reported in a 24/7 News Release that: COVID-19 Bankrupts Christianity. In this News Release, John the apostle shared that: “In an interview on The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast, John the apostle and Pastor Robert Thibodeau discuss that the Christian Church is now a business focused on payroll, pensions, and property and not a heavenly family centered on faith, hope, and love. And as a business historically based on social gathering, the Christian Church has been hard hit by COVID-19 and social distancing.” Then, now, as God brings foreclosure to the business of Christianity, John the apostle sees this “invisible enemy” coming into view as the Rider on the Black Horse.

When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine, and plague, and the wild beasts of the earth. The Revelation to John 6:7-8. Barclay writes: “The picture is grim. The horse is pale in color, which means a face ashen with terror. Here, John is using a traditional picture of what is to happen when God lets loose his wrath upon his disobedient people. Behind it all is the permanent truth that no individual or nation can escape the consequences of sin.” The Revelation of John Volume Two page 11.

On May 15, 2020, John the apostle reported in a 24/7 News Release that: COVID-19 Fills Christian's Hearts With Fear. In this News Release, John the apostle reported that Jesus said: "You claim to worship me, but your words are meaningless and your hearts are in your bank accounts." And as the US Economy struggles to re-open, many Americans remain in fear of more COVID-19 deaths and the grim economics of the pandemic. Now, John the apostle sees this “invisible enemy” coming into view as Death riding on the Pale Horse.
