Evangelical Outreach, EOMIN.org, proclaims and defends the Christian Gospel against various forms of religious deceptions from Catholicism to Jehovah's Witnesses to Eternal Security to KJB Onlyism.
All people are commanded to avoid taking the Lord's name in vain. Taking God's holy name in vain can include any misuse from the holy way it is cited in scripture itself, including using it with profanity. As presented in the following passages by Evangelical Outreach, the third of the ten commandments is directly related to God's most holy name:
You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. (Exo 20:7)
Elsewhere we read of God's unique and most high name:
Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens. (Psa 148:13)
...you have exalted above all things your name and your word. (Psa 138:2)
...your name alone do we honor. (Isa 26:13)
No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power. (Jer 10:6)
...your adversaries misuse your name. (Psa 139:20)
Some believe those truths are under attack. How? The Catholic Magisterium teaches to misuse Mary's name violates the command to not misuse God's name!
2146 The second commandment forbids the abuse of God's name, i.e., every improper use of the names of God, Jesus Christ, but also of the Virgin Mary and all the saints. (CCC 2146)
FYI, What the Catholic church calls the 'second commandment' is actually the third commandment. The Catholic church ignores the real second commandment for obvious reasons:
You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not BOW DOWN to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. (Exo 20:4-6)
"The Likeness of Male or Female" Omitted
Shocking but true – note the following quote and especially the three dots (ellipsis), which indicates missing words in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2129 The divine injunction included the prohibition of every representation of God by the hand of man. Deuteronomy explains: "Since you saw no form on the day that the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire, beware lest you act corruptly by making a graven image for yourselves, in the form of any figure. . . . " It is the absolutely transcendent God who revealed himself to Israel. "He is the all," but at the same time "he is greater than all his works." He is "the author of beauty."
The footnote attached to that ellipsis is Deut. 4:15-16 and that passage reads:
Therefore watch yourselves very carefully. Since you saw no form on the day that the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire, beware lest you act corruptly by making a carved image for yourselves, in the form of any figure, THE LIKENESS OF MALE OR FEMALE.
The Catholic magisterium wants to conceal those 6 words, the likeness of male or female, because they themselves continue to violate that command with their millions of images in the form of male and female.
Getting back to God's name being misused, the third of the Ten commandments (not the second one) is the one related to God's holy name:
You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. (Exo 20:7)
Had God wanted to include sinful man's name to an equal importance with his own sacred name it would state so, but it surely doesn't. Just the thought of sinful people being elevated to the unique importance of God's most high and exalted name is disturbing. Again, scripture says:
...you have exalted above all things your name and your word. (Psa 138:2)
The compound problem there is: the Catholic teaching not only lowers and devaluates Almighty God's name to the level of Mary and the names of Catholic saints, but lethally elevates their names to be on a par with God's most high name to not be misused. That too has led people into an idolatrous view of his sinful creation, including Mary.
Mary is "the All-Holy One" in Catholicism
BTW, Catholicism also wrongly teaches Mary was sinless, in contrast to God's word says:
493 The Fathers of the Eastern tradition call the Mother of God "the All-Holy" (Panagia), and celebrate her as "free from any stain of sin, as though fashioned by the Holy Spirit and formed as a new creature". By the grace of God Mary remained free of every personal sin her whole life long. (CCC 493)
2677 Holy Mary, Mother of God: With Elizabeth we marvel, "And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" Because she gives us Jesus, her son, Mary is Mother of God and our mother; we can entrust all our cares and petitions to her: she prays for us as she prayed for herself: "Let it be to me according to your word." By entrusting ourselves to her prayer, we abandon ourselves to the will of God together with her: "Thy will be done."
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death: By asking Mary to pray for us, we acknowledge ourselves to be poor sinners and we address ourselves to the "Mother of Mercy," the All-Holy One. We give ourselves over to her now, in the Today of our lives. And our trust broadens further, already at the present moment, to surrender "the hour of our death" wholly to her care. May she be there as she was at her son's death on the cross. May she welcome us as our mother at the hour of our passing to lead us to her son, Jesus, in paradise. (CCC 2677)
The exaltation of Mary, as demonstrated above, is in direct opposition to God's word, for God alone is the Holy One (Isa. 1:4; Ezek. 39:7; Hos. 11:9; etc.), and we should never pray to Mary. Scripture also states the following attribute about God:
Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For YOU ALONE ARE HOLY. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed. (Rev 15:4)
Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD-- that YOU ALONE ARE THE MOST HIGH over all the earth. (Psa 83:18)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Rom 3:23)
If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. (1 John 1:10)
For the Catholic magisterium to claim Mary has never sinned is to call God a liar and to show his word has no place in their lives, based on 1 John 1:10. Mary was not sinless and our trust and hope must not be in her for anything, especially our soul's salvation. We must have a trusting and submitting faith in the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus, the Savior. That means 100% trust and submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and 0% in Mary, the sacraments and being a Catholic.
According to the Bible, eternal life is much more than just the gift of God (Rom. 6:23) and a present tense possession (Jn 6:47; 1 Jn 5:11-13). Eternal life is also a hope (Titus 3:7) yet to be reaped (Gal. 6:8,9), in the age to come (Mk. 10:30) for only the ones who persist in doing good (Rom. 2:7) and don't grow weary and give up sowing to please the Spirit (Gal. 6:9)! Eternal life is also a promise for the Christians who hold on to the gospel truth they heard from the beginning to remain in Christ and the Father (1 Jn. 2:24-26).
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor. 6:9-11, NASB)

The Third Commandment In The Christian Bible: The Misuse of God's Name and Idol Making - Biblical Truth Presented By Evangelical Holiness
Tuesday, July 2, 2019
Bible Based Christian Poem Based On Popular Jesus Loves Me Lyrics Published By Dan Corner, Director Of Evangelical Outreach
Corner is a Christian author, former Pastor, defender of the Christian faith and evangelist who has had over four decades of experience dealing with the Bible.
We live in an age of misinformation and disinformation. Contrary to what some of us might believe, not all misinformation is created. It can also result from lack of knowledge, misinterpretations or generally accepted misperception. Dan Corner, Director of Evangelical Outreach, offers the following example.
Jesus Loves Me is a popular "gospel" song, which has been around for many years and sung by untold whole congregations worldwide. The melody is beautiful and often the singers are most talented, as they sing out the lyrics, a musical sermon, which is very misleading, even to the point of being spiritually LETHAL.
Hence, that is the reason for the following Christian poem and warning. Please ponder this carefully and verify it with your own Bible (and tell others):
Jesus Loves Me DANGER
Jesus loves me, this I know;
But that doesn't mean to the flesh I can sow!
That's how one reaps destruction, not eternal life;
Therefore, stay away from all sin, including strife.
[Mark 10:21; Gal. 6:8,9; Rom. 1:29]
Jesus' followers to him surely belong;
But, don't be deceived by any religious song.
Yes, heaven's gates are opened large and wide;
But only for Jesus' PURE and holy bride.
[Jn. 10:27; Rev. 21:27; Rev. 19:7,8]
At the point of repentance, he washes away the stain of all sin;
Yet, even so, by sin we can be defiled and unsaved once again;
Therefore, know that he who OBEYS is the one who will win.
That's true GRACE teaching -- not a 'Jesus Loves You' spin.
[Acts 3:19; 2 Pet. 2:20-22; Heb. 5:9; James 2:17]
Yes Jesus loves you, but do you love him?
Go by the Bible and not some gospel hymn.
Do you love Jesus, this I wonder about;
For if you don't, you will be lost without a doubt.
[2 Tim. 3:16,17; James 2:5; 1 Cor. 16:22]
I love my PRECIOUS Jesus, this I know;
My garments his blood washed white as snow.
He shed his blood and gave his life for me;
To show my love for him, I obey, this is key.
[Rev. 7:14 cf. Isa. 1:18; 1 Pet. 1:18,19; Jn. 14:23,24]
You better love Jesus too, for the Bible tells me so;
It's a salvation issue or else into eternal fire you'll go.
Yes Jesus loves me, but I better love him first;
You better too or you'll be eternally cursed!
[Mt. 10:37,38; Mt. 25:41; Rev. 2:4,5; 1 Cor. 16:22; 2:9]
If we faithfully follow him to the very end;
In Paradise with him forever, we will spend.
Jesus will damn all who die spiritually impure.
Not even one will escape him, that's for sure.
[Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Rev. 21:8]
So don't be misled by Jesus' love for us all;
Few will be chosen, though many are called.
You'll reap eternal life if to the Spirit you sow;
Oh how Jesus loves us, this I know.
[Mt. 22:14; Gal. 6:8,9; Mark 10:21]
Persist in your faith doing good to the very end;
Believe the Bible over any loved one, song or friend.
Hold on to what you have so no one will take your crown;
You must finish your spiritual race and not be turned around.
[Rom. 11:20-23; Rev. 2:10,11; Rev. 3:11; Heb. 12:1; Mt. 10:22]
To reap eternal life, follow Jesus and keep holding on;
Keep sowing to please the Spirit and don't be conned.
You'll reap eternal life, if you do not give up;
Avoid God's wrath contained within his cup.
[Gal. 6:7-10; Rev. 14:10]
God's kingdom has been prepared for those who love him;
Yes, that's eternal truth, not some deceitful cultic whim.
Yes indeed, the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus loves all - both you and me;
But you are to be holy in all you do and from sin you better flee.
[1 Cor. 2:9; James 2:5; 1 Pet. 1:15; James 1:14-16]
So regardless the musical tune or sweet lyrics of a song;
Do not depart from the Bible and you will never believe wrong.
Only the pure in heart will see God, for the Bible tells me so;
Our Judgment will be based on scripture, this I surely know.
[2 Tim. 3:16,17; 1 Cor. 4:6; Mt. 5:8; 1 Tim. 5:22c; Rev. 21:27; Jn. 12:48]
Followers of the Lord Jesus Christ ultimately succeed;
To any other voice but scripture, do not give any heed.
To live for Christ and to die is gain;
Do not fear death and in him remain.
[Jn. 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Jn. 5:12; Phil. 1:21; Jn. 15:5,6; Heb. 2:15]

Contrary To The Teachings Of Bruce Wilkinson, There Are Two Sources Of Miracles In The Bible Says Evangelical Outreach Director Dan Corner
Corner is a Christian author, former Pastor, defender of the Christian faith and evangelist who has had over four decades of experience dealing with the Bible.
When we think of miracles, most of us believe that miracles are produced only by the power of God. However there is another kind of miracle that is satanic in nature. The purpose of such satanic miracles is to deceive well meaning followers. Dan Corner, Director of Evangelical Outreach, urges us to be on our guard against deception. He recently had this to say:
Miracles from God and from the devil do occur! Because people don't know that there are two sources of miracles, they are getting lethally deceived. Therefore, how to distinguish miracles of God from Satanic miracles is nothing less than vital! When one reads through the book of Revelation, he will notice that the last generation will live through and see not only the effects of war, famine, martyrdom and gross sin, but they will also be subject to gross deception through Satanic miracles.
Remember, miracles do come through two supernatural sources – both God and the devil. In the book of Exodus, some of God's miracles were duplicated by Satan's power channeled through the Egyptian sorcerers -- their wooden staffs became snakes (Ex. 7:10,11); water was changed into blood (Ex. 7:20-22) and frogs came out of the water and covered the land (Ex. 8:6,7). Demons can and do perform miraculous signs (Rev. 16:14).
The last generation will see fire coming down from heaven to earth (Rev. 13:13) and an image of the Antichrist speaking (Rev. 13:15) because of Satanic power. In fact, it will be because of such Satanic miracles that the ones who fatally receive the infamous "mark of the beast" will be deceived (Rev. 13:15-17 cf. 19:20). They will be deceived by the astounding and awe-inspiring miracles produced by Satanic power! See also 2 Thess. 2:9,10.
Satan has used miracles in the past to deceive, and he is still using and will continue to use miracles to deceive. This truth is the answer to the mystic questions regarding Edgar Cayce, Padre Pio, etc.; all of these different religious figures had miracles with the accompanying signs and claims about God and the afterlife, but all of these message conflicted with each other and, more importantly, they conflicted with the Bible, the ultimate, sole and final spiritual authority.
Similar conflicting messages surrounding miracles and visions are also found in Mormonism and Catholicism. In Brigham Young's day, after prayer, they were saved by sea gulls which ate the grain eating crickets.
In contrast, in Catholicism, there are the 1917 "approved" Fatima visions of a personage claiming to be the Virgin Mary, who declared herself to be our "refuge" and "the way" that will lead us to God. The "miracle of the sun" also happened. Such a message about Mary, however, is in direct conflict with Jn. 14:6 which declares Jesus as the only "way" to God and God as our sole refuge (Psa. 46:1; 62:8; etc.)! Even if the so-called "Eucharistic miracles" in the Catholic Church really did occur, they are not determinative of spiritual truth and reality; WHY? Because even the Egyptian sorcerers could transubstantiate water into blood (Ex. 7:20-22); remember there are two sources of miracles. The issue is not if a miracle actually took place, but what is the source of the miracle? If a miracle parallels the Bible message, then it is from God; if the message of purported miracle contradicts and leads one away from the message of the Bible, then it is from our enemy the devil.
Additionally, the Eucharist does not satisfy the conditions of a genuine transubstantiation because it does not become and taste like real flesh and blood, unlike the Bible-based transubstantiation miracle we see in John 2:10, whereby Jesus transformed the water into wine; there, the water tasted like real wine and actually became wine. Most importantly, the message of the Eucharist contradicts the Bible’s salvation message because one gets eternal life solely through repentance and a submissive faith in Jesus (Jn. 6:47; 6:35; Acts 10:43; etc.) without communion.
Furthermore, since Mormonism and Catholicism both have miracles and visions, and since their messages about salvation are in conflict with each other, we logically know that God cannot be the only power source for miracles and visions because God is not a God of confusion. In reality, God's power was NOT active in either of those cases.
The Indian guru Sai Baba's healing and materializations, as well as the Catholic healing waters of Lourdes, also do NOT parallel the Bible message either. Hence, Sai Baba's miracles and the healing miracles from the waters at Lourdes, France cannot be from the same source who gave us the Bible. Do NOT be deceived!
By what then must we gauge all messages and teachings, considering that miracles, visions, signs, etc. can be lethally deceptive? The only criterion is God's written word (2 Tim. 3:16,17). If God's word is not considered as FINAL AUTHORITY when "testing" a miracle, vision, dream, prophecy, or teaching, etc., then one will surely be deceived. Did you know that if you are deceived by a miracle to receive the mark of the beast, YOU will end up in fiery torment, even if you were once saved (Rev. 14:9-12)? We MUST be both "self-controlled" and "alert" in order to stand till the end against the deceitful devil and his wiles (1 Pet 5:8; Eph. 6:10,11).
Remember, these are perilous days with rampant religious deception. In conclusion, God still performs miracles, and he still heals in our day (Jn.14:12; Acts 4:30; etc.), but again, so does the devil. The Bible remains final spiritual authority and will enable us to distinguish God's miracles from Satan’s deceptive miracles. The one and only truth about forgiveness of sins and salvation is repentance from sin and a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to serve him (Acts 20:21; 26:20; 1 Thess. 1:9; Jn. 3:36; Heb. 5:9; etc.). There is no eternal security (Mt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11). Prepare for your death and judgment afterwards (Heb. 9:27). Pass this teaching on to another.

The Truth Regarding The Salvation Of Reprobates Offered By Dan Corner Of Evangelical Outreach
Corner is a Christian author, defender of the Christian faith and evangelist who has had over four decades of experience dealing with the Bible.
A primary issue of debate within Christianity is the question of Eternal Security. That debate has raged on for centuries. Within that general debate is another - the status of "reprobates." Can a reprobate be saved?
Many of us take positions on either side of that all-important debate, depending on our own interpretations, drawn from a particular version of the Bible. Interpretations however are not truth. When we look at questions such as these, opinions matter not at all. Only truth matters. Dan Corner of Evangelical Outreach offers a compelling answer to the question regarding the salvation of reprobates:
"Reprobate" is a KJV term which, like many other KJV terms, conjures up misleading ideas. Too often, it has even been preached or inferred that a "reprobate" cannot get saved OR that if one backslides after many years of serving God – having much knowledge of the Word beforehand – then he becomes a "reprobate" and can never return to salvation again. Neither one of these scenarios is true. Note the following verse where "reprobate" is used:
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a REPROBATE mind, to do those things which are not convenient (Rom 1:28, KJV).
The context of Romans 1:28 refers to homosexuality, showing homosexuals have a "reprobate mind" (KJV). The NIV says a "depraved mind". So, can homosexuals get saved? The answer is a definite, unequivocal and absolute YES:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such WERE some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (1 Cor. 6:9-11, NASB)
So again, the "depraved" (NIV) or "reprobates" can indeed get forgiven, based on a comparison of scripture with scripture. But what about 1 Cor. 9:27, where the same Greek word translated "castaway" has elsewhere been inconsistently translated "reprobate" in the KJV?
But I [Paul] keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a CASTAWAY (1 Cor. 9:27, KJV).
The point Paul is making in 1 Cor. 9:27 is: though he himself has preached the Word to others, he also MUST crucify the flesh ("die daily" – 1 Cor. 15:31) and walk holy OR he too will be a "castaway" (KJV), that is, "rejected" by God for salvation. Hence, Paul 'kept his body in subjection' in order to avoid losing his salvation.
Similarly Paul taught, if he himself preached "another gospel," that is, a different gospel other than the one and only true gospel, he would be "anathema" (CONDEMNED) just for preaching that false plan of salvation (Gal. 1:8,9). Preachers, YOU get no spiritual "brownie points" just because you are a preacher, except you will be given a MORE STRICT JUDGMENT (James 3:1), and you have a chance for the "crown of glory," if you qualify (1 Pet. 5:4). IF preachers don't live HOLY, they too will be DAMNED to eternal torment! Remember, the Apostle Judas Iscariot was a preacher, and he ended up going to HELL (Mk. 14:21; Jn. 17:12).
Remember the following truth about backsliding; Peter was an APOSTLE (one of the elite "TWELVE") – a preacher – yet he returned to salvation after he lost his salvation by disowning Jesus three times, he returned to salvation (Mt. 26:34 cf. Mt. 10:33; Lk. 22:32b). ALL backsliders can return to salvation, unless they commit eternal sin (Mark 3:22-30 cf. Heb. 6:4-6), commit suicide (1 John 3:15b; Rev. 21:8) or take the mark of the beast (Rev. 14:9-12), which is not out yet.
Finally, in Calvinism, a "reprobate" is, according to their FLAWED theology, simply a non-elect person – one doomed to be thrown into eternal fire with no free will and no chance of ever being saved! Such a repulsive concept smears Almighty God as an unloving, spiritually diabolical maniac, who has created some people only to be ETERNALLY TORTURED IN FIRE FOREVER!
The true God does not want any to perish (2 Pet. 3:9); commands all to repent (Acts 17:30); draws all to Jesus (Jn. 12:32); and wants all to come to the knowledge of salvation (1 Tim. 2:4); etc. God has given us free will, and he wants us to voluntarily choose to love him (obey him). He does not force us to love him.
All five points of Calvinism are DOCTRINES OF DEMONS, with the last point being the most dangerous of all. To read scripture refuting the HERESY OF ETERNAL SECURITY see https://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/eternal-security.htm.

God Delights In Showing Mercy To The Repentant Backslider And Recidivist Says Dan Corner Of Evangelical Outreach
Corner is a Christian author, defender of the Christian faith and evangelist who has had over four decades of experience dealing with the Bible.
Unfortunately many Christians mistakenly believe that nobody who backslides can be saved again. Sadly, this belief has literally destroyed the lives of many remorseful and repentant backsliders. That idea however is clearly refuted in the Bible. Dan Corner of Evangelical Outreach offers the truth - that a backslider (recidivist) can be restored and find forgiveness through sincere repentance. He had this to say:
A backslider in the Bible is a person who once had salvation, but has since turned away from the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus Christ to the point where he is now spiritually lost and dead again, just like he was before becoming saved. The truly saved can indeed backslide, and sadly many do. The following two scriptures reveal the backslider definition:
“A man who strays from the path of understanding comes to rest in the company of the dead” (Prov. 21:16).
“But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers” (Psa. 125:5).
The scriptural definition of a backslider, therefore, is a person who strayed from the path of understanding and turned to crooked ways. In the KJV, the only time the word backslider is found is in Proverbs:
“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways... ” (Prov. 14:14).
Ezekiel and Peter give valuable details about those who are backslidden and what occurred when they turned to evil. Carefully observe and ponder these backslider scriptures referring to spiritual death and becoming bound by sin once again. According to God, backsliding is a very serious and dangerous state as proven here:
“If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, he will die for it ” (Ezek. 33:18).
“If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: ‘A dog returns to its vomit,’ and, ‘A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud’ ” (2 Pet. 2:20-22).
So, if you backslide, are you still saved? Not according to God's word, you’re not, but that doesn't mean you can't return to God and salvation. In fact, God commands such! Moreover, God's cure for backsliding is simple; the backslider must return to him:
"Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding..." (Jer. 3:22).
There are examples of both named and unnamed backsliders in the Bible, who turned away from God temporarily or even permanently. Some backsliders, like Peter and King David, returned to salvation after a while, but some others never came back to God; some examples of backsliders who never returned to God are King Saul, Solomon, Judas Iscariot, those in Heb. 6:4-6 and John 6:66 as well as others.
The grieving backslider wants to come back to God, but isn't sure how to be restored or even if returning to God is possible. Some backsliders think they sinned far too much and too grievously to come back while others wrongly think they have committed eternal sin and therefore can't get forgiven. There is, perhaps, no more downcast person than a repentant backslider who isn't sure he can return to God and find the forgiveness he so desperately craves.
Years ago, when I was pastoring, I knew a backslider who fell into sexual immorality. Over the next couple days, that same backslider lost nearly 10 pounds and was actually, on occasions, beating his own head against the wall in regret over his sin and foolishness! He wrongly thought, as a backslider, he could not repent and was, consequently, doomed to hell with no possible hope of ever getting saved again.
What finally helped that backslider to see that he could come back to God, in spite of his wicked actions, were the examples of King David and the Apostle Peter. Since God took those men back after they backslid, then why would he not take back this man, since he too was deeply repentant and resolved to never commit those sins again.
All throughout the Bible, we see how the highest authority on backsliding and forgiveness responds to a the repentant backslider; God himself taught that a backslider can indeed be restored and find forgiveness (Luke 15:11-32). The backslider (or prodigal son in this case) repented when he came to his senses. This verse demonstrates that a person who remains unrepentant and in sin that is dragging him to hell is not in his right spiritual senses. The backslider has been spiritually blinded by something or deceived somehow.
Although the prodigal son backslider, for an unknown time period, perhaps even many years, had engaged in wild living and sexual sin with prostitutes, he still found forgiveness; he was still able to return to God, and God wanted him back.
The prodigal became alive again, and his lost spiritual condition reversed upon turning from his sins and humbly returning to the Father to serve him (Lk. 15:24). Compare this teaching to 1 Thess. 1:9b. The only time in the Bible we see the Father running is to welcome the repentant backslider back home!
Remember this precious truth if you are a backslidden former Christian. Please also note that the Father was so happy to have the backslider back home that he hugged and kissed him and even celebrated his return with a feast.
Some Christians who correctly reject the teaching of eternal security wrongly think that no one who ever falls away can come back to salvation. This notion is clearly refuted by Jesus' teaching here, as well as by other passages (Rom. 11:19-23 and James 5:19,20).
A spiritually lost and dead person could be a person that was once saved. That truth and the following explain the phrase, “God is married to the backslider”, but few know God gave her a certificate of divorce and sent her away:
“I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery” (Jer. 3:8).
God delights to show mercy to the repentant backslider:
“Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea” (Micah 7:18,19).
“He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy” (Prov 28:13).
David's prayer as a backslider returning to God and asking God for forgiveness shows the pain, misery and guilt he, and others like him, are in (Psalm 51). His prayer for backsliding is Holy Spirit inspired. When the devil is tempting the righteous to sin, he will never accurately portray sin's regret in this manner. The following gives more insight:
Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God. Your sins have been your downfall! Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips. Assyria cannot save us; we will not mount war-horses. We will never again say 'Our gods' to what our own hands have made, for in you the fatherless find compassion.” (Hosea 14:1-3)

Gotquestions.org Versus The Truth About Eternal Security And Backsliders Offered By Evangelical Outreach Director Dan Corner
Corner is a Christian author, defender of the Christian faith and evangelist who has had over four decades of experience dealing with the Bible.
Once Saved Always Saved is a controversial idea that raises a multitude of very important questions for Christians. In an article by gotquestions.org entitled "Is a backsliding Christian still saved?, Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) teacher, S. Michael Houdmann, wrote: "Yes, a true Christian who falls back into sin is still saved...." Evangelical Outreach Director Dan Corner believes there is considerable danger in this type of thinking. In an article available on his website, he had this to say:
Though Houdmann wasn't specific, he believes such "sin" could include: adultery, drunkenness, theft, homosexuality, murder, swindling, slander, idolatry, blasphemy, etc. and even be "willful, continuous and unrepentant sin," as he explained in his flawed version of the sin unto death. Such an image of a child of God is violently opposed to God's word, which describes the Christian as: a saint (1 Cor.14:33; Eph. 1:1; Phil. 1:1; Col. 1:4; etc.), a self-denying follower of Jesus (Lk. 9:23; etc.), one who puts into practice God's word (Lk. 8:21), a doer of the will of the Father (Mt. 7:21), one who obeys God (1 Jn. 2:3,4) and lives holy (1 Thess. 4:7,8; 2 Pet. 3:11,12; etc.), etc.
Undoubtedly, eternal security teachers have distorted and smeared the true image of a Christian and reduced him into a spiritually weak and sinful person. They believe the saved can act the same detestable ways as the sin-addicted children of the devil and they even allow for continuous unrepentant sin unto death. In order to smokescreen conceal their license to sin, the eternal security teachers sometimes teach a double message and say if a professing Christian turns to the type of sins as specified above, then "He was never saved to begin with". Such a message, however, is inconsistent with their belief about King David, who turned to both adultery and murder. They all teach that David retained his salvation, while in those heinous sins in defiance to God's word (Ezek. 33:18; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph.5:5-7; Rev. 21:8; etc.). OSAS proponents believe the same about Solomon remaining saved, who turned to the vilest kinds of idolatries (1 Kings 11:1-8).
Eternal security teachers want it both ways - teaching an outrageous backslider is still saved, then "he was never saved" if he does backslide. These glaring inconsistencies are already enough to reveal their error and license to sin, but there is even more with the teaching of the Prodigal Son (Lk. 15:11-32). The prodigal deliberately departed from the Father into wild living and to be with the prostitutes. He finally turned away from those sins (repented) to return to the Father to serve him again. The Father said to the sorrowful and repentant prodigal, "For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate" (Luke15:24).
Luke 15 clearly shows backsliders do indeed become spiritually dead and lost just like the prodigal did when he turned to wild living. This stark reality of a change in spiritual identity is in contrast to Once Saved Always Saved dogma. Remember that is Jesus' teaching about backsliders, that is, that they are spiritually dead and lost. Luke 15:24 also shows the prodigal became "alive again," which proves (1) backsliders can return to salvation via repentance and (2) the prodigal had salvation before he died spiritually when he departed into wild living. Those truths are essential and prove eternal security is an incontrovertible false teaching and a license to sin. All such OSAS teachers must argue (if consistent to their doctrine) that the prodigal retained his salvation when with the prostitutes, thereby inferring there are Christian whoremongers! If that extreme is not a license to sin, then what is? This, however, is the image of a Christian they have created and want us to accept.
It is critical for backsliders to know they must repent for salvation's sake, but that truth is also sadly denied by Once Saved Always Saved. Moreover, the unnamed incestuous and adulterous man of 1 Cor. 5:1-5, who was committing sin which even pagans wouldn't do, is said to have been a Christian by many OSAS teachers. Eternal security teacher, David J. Stewart of jesusissavior.org, has also openly admitted, "I am going to Heaven, regardless of how I live. But you say, that's crazy! No! That's Bible! So do Christians have a license to sin? Yes, if you want to view it that way."
Furthermore, multiple divorced Hal Lindsey stated, "I'm sad to say that some of the worst sins I ever committed have been after salvation." By stating that, Lindsey is saying a Christian can be more vile and wicked than before his salvation, yet retain his salvation through it all.
Just believing the OSAS doctrine itself sets one up for arrogance (Rom. 11:19-22) and a spiritual fall (1 Cor. 10:12). Such occurs because the proponents think they are standing firm even to the point that their salvation is now irrevocable, irreversible and unalterable, and they see no need to fear being cut off. They don't believe their salvation can be imperiled by anything they do or don't do or anything they believe or don't believe, regardless of what it is.
The unspoken goal of the eternal security teacher is to convince others that a Christian can stray and become wildly immoral, grossly sinful and flagrantly disobedient and still retain his salvation while unrepentant and only jeopardize his rewards, fellowship, etc., but never his salvation and relationship with God. Those who object to that observation with their "never saved to begin with" sophistry and inconsistencies are immediately silenced by King David and the OSAS errant version of the sin unto death. The eternal security teachers calculatingly declare their OSAS doctrine is under and linked to the gospel, grace, the blood of Christ, infinite work of Christ, imputed righteousness, etc. when it has nothing to do with any of these basic truths of Christianity.
The OSAS teachers also further distort the Christian opposition as teaching a works salvation, legalism and being cultic. One of the primary proof texts for Once Saved Always Saved is John 10:28, which states the subjects will never perish and no man can snatch them out of God's hand. The OSAS teachers say those promises apply even to the backsliders, but the context shows those wonderful promises only belong to the continuous tense followers of Christ (John10:27), which excludes backsliders.
S. Michael Houdmann of gotquestions.org also wrote, "The Bible tells us that if a person denies Christ, he never truly knew Christ to begin with." Is it possible that Houdmann, and others like him, are unaware of Peter's thrice denial of Christ (Mt. 26:33,34)? When Peter's denial (Mt.26:70,72) is examined with Mt. 10:33, the same Greek term (arneomai) is found which pulverizes OSAS beyond repair. Why? Because Jesus did disown Peter as he warned his apostles, "But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven" (Mt. 10:33). Therefore we know, since Peter disowned Jesus, Jesus likewise disowned Peter. Afterwards, Peter repented and turned back to God (Lk. 22:32), but the point is one is no longer saved if Jesus disowns him, as happened to Peter at that time. That fact alone is another certain deathblow to OSAS.

The Truth About Marriage, Divorce And The Remarriage Adultery Epidemic Offered By Evangelical Outreach Dan Corner VS Pat Robertson Of The 700 Club
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached perhaps 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
Dan Corner posted a somewhat shocking recording of Pat Robertson of the 700 Club on his website. In that recording, Robertson made a comment regarding an Alzheimer's wife and her husband, whom she doesn't recognize anymore; with the husband who has started seeing another woman: "I know it sounds cruel, but if he is going to do something he should divorce her and start all over again."
Divorce in the US is at an all-time high. The numbers shown by the National Center for Health Statistics are staggering. Even more unfortunate is the fact that some people have divorced and remarried more than once - some many times. Therefore it is important that Christians understand the spiritual ramifications of divorce and make good decisions based on Biblical truth.
But finding that truth can be extremely difficult, especially when we hear conflicting points of view and contradictory opinions from pastors, church leaders and others, all of whom seem to be able to find something in the Bible to shore up their respective positions. Regarding divorce and remarriage, some say "yes", some say "no", and some say "maybe, but". However Dan Corner believes the answer is very clear. He recently had this to say:
The Bible declares that remarriage while one's former spouse is still living constitutes adultery (Rom. 7:2,3). Divorce and remarriage have become so widespread, especially since the advent of "no fault divorce", that over 50% of married people divorce in the USA; Belgium is even worse with over 70% of their married people getting divorced.
It is typical for remarriage adulterers to cite polygamist King David in an attempt to justify their own remarriage (even though David was never remarried and Bathsheba was a widow when they married). Furthermore, such arguments are all nullified by what the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus, who knew all about King David, taught:
Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery (Luke 16:18).
He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery" (Mark 10:11,12).
The two people of opposite sex, whom God has joined together and have become one flesh through marriage, are bound together as husband and wife for life. God's eternal word calls that the law of marriage:
For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man (Rom. 7:2,3).
That same essential "until death do we part" scriptural truth (Mark 10:7-9) is repeated here:
A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord (1 Cor. 7:39).
Divorce does not end a marriage! Only physical death ends a marriage. People often wonder how the aforementioned verses can parallel the exception clauses in Mt. 5:32 and 19:9 ("except for marital unfaithfulness"), but in their bewilderment, they all too often overlook Mt. 1:19. That verse is where Joseph was going to "divorce" Mary because he wrongly thought she was guilty of sexual sin during their betrothal, that is, BEFORE they were actually married. Again, Joseph was going to "divorce" Mary, which is the same Greek word found in Mt. 5:32 and 19:9, before they were actually married.
Furthermore, Jesus taught such remarriage adultery is a continuous tense sin. It is not a one-time sin, which can be confessed and forgotten about, all while continuing to indulge in sexual union. Such soul-damning adultery is committed every time sexual union occurs, because at least one of the two parties is still married to another living person. The lethal seriousness of unforgiven adultery is shown in 1 Cor. 6:9,10 and Rev. 21:8, where such sin will drag both parties to the lake of fire, just on that basis alone. What the many wolves in sheep's clothing say about the permissibility of remarriage after divorce does not change the written word of God, which forbids such practice and is detestable in God’s sight.
John the Baptist was beheaded over his preaching about the illegitimate marriage between Herod and Herodias. The truth is, Herodias was still Philip's wife (Mt. 14:3,4; Mark 6:17-19). Hence, Herod and Herodias were committing adultery by their sexual union because their marriage was not legitimate before God.
This vital message is not just for people in remarriage adultery now, who desperately need to repent and get forgiven, but also for single people before they become entangled in an emotional bear trap. Marriage is a very serious commitment; only death terminates the bonds of marriage. Marriage is not some trivial arrangement to try out only to have both parties go their own way and try again with different people when problems arise.
Finally, please know people in remarriage adultery are not cancelling out their adultery by going to church, praying, reading the bible, giving to the poor, soul winning or by any other church activity. Adulterers must stop their sexual union and seek God's forgiveness to be cleansed. If you have found yourself in such an adulterous situation, which is condemned by God, you must act while you still can. If you die in your sins, you'll be eternally lost. There is no Once Saved Always Saved. Pass this teaching on to those you care about.

Evangelical Outreach Ex Catholic Dan Corner Takes Issue With Our Lady Of Fatima's Irreconcilable Differences With God's Word
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached perhaps 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
In a recent piece on romereports.com, Pope Francis is quoted as saying "I will go to Fatima on a pilgrimage, to entrust to the Virgin the temporal and eternal destinies of humanity." Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner and author of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible?' takes issue with the Fatima apparitions, as the Fatima apparition makes statements that directly conflict with scripture. Corner had this to say:
One of the all time best known Catholic Marian apparitions occurred in Fatima Portugal in 1917. They consist of three apparitions of angels and at least six apparitions of Mary. Those apparitions would have us focus our attention upon Mary, who has become known as "Our Lady of Fatima." Because of these Fatima visions, Mary has been declared to be our refuge and protector, as well as the way to God and so forth. Moreover, according to those Catholic visions, amends for sin are also to be made to Mary. It is estimated that multiple millions of people go to that Fatima shrine each year, thereby reflecting its importance to multitudes.
Officially speaking, Catholics are not bound to believe in any of the Marian apparitions, such as Fatima (1917), but it must also be noted that all popes from Benedict XV (1914-1922) and afterwards have favorably spoken about Fatima, showing their endorsement of those Marian apparitions and corresponding doctrines. Therefore, to the Catholic laity, the 1917 Fatima visions are a definite message "directly from heaven" itself. In fact, Tan Book and Publishers has printed a booklet on Fatima entitled that very thing – "Our Lady's of Fatima's Peace Plan From Heaven." Consequently, the Catholic laity of 1 billion plus will accept Fatima and all the related dogmas.
As a former Roman Catholic, the following 1917 Fatima quote is most significant to me:
"I (Mary) will never leave you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God" (Lucia Speaks on The Message of Fatima, Ave Maria Institute, 1968, p.26).
It was over that very statement that I finally left Roman Catholicism because of its irreconcilable differences with God's word. God's truth declares the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus as "the way" to the Father (Jn. 14:6) and God himself as our "refuge" (Psa. 46:1; etc.).
So, how can such a scripture-conflicting statement from "Our Lady at Fatima" be reconciled to God's truth? The answer is found in 2 Cor. 11:14: "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light". The devil, who is not in hell now, is always trying to religiously deceive and tempt people away from God's ways. It is also important to know that the devil has power to perform miracles (2 Thess. 2:9,10; Rev. 13:13-15; 16:14; 19:20; etc.). These biblical truths also explain the Fatima "Miracle of the Sun." Remember: any apparition or miracle which does not parallel God's written word is not from the same source that gave us the Bible.
Besides the aforementioned doctrinal differences with scripture, the following Fatima false prophecy is another nail in the Fatima coffin, further diminishing the credibility of the Catholic magisterium, which has approved all these false prophecies and visions. That false prophecy unfolds from the report first given on May 13, 1917, then on July 13th:
"I [the personage claiming to be Mary] came to ask you to come here for six successive months, on the 13th day at the same hour" (ibid., p. 22).
"I [the personage claiming to be Mary] want you to come here on the 13th of next month [August 1917]" (ibid., 28).
In contrast, the fourth of the Fatima visions occurred on August 15, 1917 and in a place other than the Cova da Iria called Valinhos; in other words, that particular vision occurred at the wrong time and at the wrong place according to the repeated prediction or “prophecy” of where and when the vision was supposed to take place. Such is tantamount to a false prophecy. If we consider the foregoing, plus the aforementioned unscriptural teaching at Fatima, it becomes even more clear that the so called "Our Lady of Fatima" is not the real Mary of the Bible, but instead our enemy, the "father of lies" (Jn. 8:44). Even more evidence unfolds with the following unscriptural Fatima narrative:
“I [the personage claiming to be Mary] promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, go to Confession and receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep me company for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me" (ibid., p. 47).
The true gospel (plan of salvation) of the Bible bares absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the counterfeit gospel of Our Lady of Fatima. True salvation comes from repentance from sin and a heart-felt submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to follow and serve him unashamedly (Acts 20:21; 26:20; Lk. 9:23; Gal. 3:26). Such a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus in turn will result in freedom from sin's addictions and will transform a former servant of the devil to a servant of God (Rom.6:22). Such faith will also result in rest for one's soul (Mt. 11:29), unfeigned love for Christians (1 John 3:14), obedience to God's commands (1 Jn. 2:3,4) and being ashamed of one's past life of sin before salvation (Rom. 6:21). Furthermore, the true Christian has become an object of God's mercy (Titus 3:5; Pet. 2:10; etc.), a recipient of eternal life (Jn. 6:47; 1 Jn. 5:12,13; etc.) and is now a new creation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17).
Imagine being a faithful Catholic who implicitly trusts the magisterium. You go to daily mass, the stations of the cross and to confession; you receive the Eucharist weekly, perform novenas, and have been on Fatima pilgrimages; finally, at the hour of your death, you call on Mary only to die and find out too late you have been dreadfully wrong and misled by your trusted leaders. This tragedy has been the reality for hundreds of millions of Catholics, including canonized Catholics “saints.” To make matters worse, many non-Catholics are not doing anything to help Catholics find true biblical salvation. Why aren’t they? Ignorance is part of it, but the ecumenical non-Catholic compromise with Catholics is also a major part of the problem. True Christians need to reach out to the world’s billion dear Catholics and to share these vital truths with them. God bless you.

Evangelical Outreach Ex Catholic Dan Corner Takes Issue With The Worship Of Images By The Catholic Church

Are the commandments found in the Bible subject to interpretation? Should we allow modern-day influences to color those interpretations? If so, who should be the final authority?
For instance, the First Commandment forbids the worship of images. Yet, according to an article found on catholic.org, the First Commandment "was never understood as an absolute and universal prohibition of any kind of image." The actual wording of the commandment found in Exodus, found in the same article commands "Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them
What is the truth about the worship of images? Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner had this to say:
True worship is very important to the Almighty. The PRECIOUS Lord Jesus taught "...true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23,24).
In contrast to worshiping God in spirit and in truth, is the way pagans worship their false gods by bowing down and kissing images and statues of their likeness (1 Ki. 19:18; Hosea 13:2). Note this similarity to how Catholicism uses their images, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
"The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. Indeed, 'the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype,' and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person portrayed in it". (CCC 2132)
"Through sacred images of the holy Mother of God, of the angels and of the saints, we venerate the persons represented". (CCC 1192)
Furthermore, catholic.org stated this: "In kneeling before the crucifix and kissing it we are paying the highest honor to the our Lord's cross as the instrument of our salvation" [sic]. That is exactly what is done in Catholic churches on Good Friday. Catholics sincerely believe they are showing love to the Lord Jesus by bowing down before a crucifix and kissing the feet of the image they consider to represent Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, Catholics do not know that scripture does not command people to bow down and kiss images or statues, but actually forbids and condemns such a practice. Jesus taught we show our love for him by obeying his commands (Jn. 14:15; 14:23,24), and his commands include not bowing before and kissing images (Ex. 20:4-6; 1 Kings 19:18; etc.).
Dear reader, be assured there were no religious images of any kind whatsoever among the New Testament Christians, much less so when they prayed to or worshiped God. This absence of religious images is clearly consistent with God’s command to worship him in spirit and truth but in contradistinction to the Golden Calf debacle where the people bowed down and sacrificed to their manmade image of gold thinking such were the gods who delivered them out of Egypt:
"So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry. Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt' " (Ex. 32:6-8).
Let it be noted that the whole Golden Calf ordeal was meant to be a festival to the LORD (YHWH), that is, the true God of the Bible (Ex. 32:5)! They were trying to worship and honor God, not a pagan deity. Their idolatrous attempt to worship and sacrifice through an image quickly corrupted them – changing their spiritual identity to idolaters (1 Cor. 10:7) and having their names removed from God's heavenly book (Ex. 32:33).
Although their leader Aaron mistaught them, and despite the Israelite’s sincere attempt to honor and worship Almighty God through this golden calf, they were nonetheless guilty of the sin of idolatry. God, unmoved by their sincerity, refused their false worship; instead he became angry and removed their names from the Book of Life because of their sin of idolatry.
As a boy, I was indoctrinated into Roman Catholicism through "The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism." The version of the Ten Commandments presented to us Catholics only stated the following about idolatry:
"I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before Me" [ibid., 1962 ed. p. 100.] We knew nothing about Exodus 20:4-6 and especially this passage:
"You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven" (Deut. 4:15-19).
Hence, God forbids us to make or bow down to an image in the form of a man or a woman – the very way Catholics are taught to worship God, venerate Mary, and honor the saints.
Idolatry is so offensive and reprehensible to God, that all idolaters will be thrown into the lake of fire for that sin (Rev. 21:8), that is, unless they sincerely turn away from it and get forgiven. So what should Catholics do with their religious images through which they try to worship Jesus or honor Mary and the saints? They should be smashed and removed from their house (Ex. 34:12-14; Deut. 7:25,26). God alone is to be worshiped, excluding veneration to all others. ("Veneration" is a synonym for worship, that is, it means the same thing.)
Catholics must go by God's written word alone and they must realize their magisterium (teaching authorities) have horribly betrayed them by leading them away from Holy Writ in various, dangerous ways. Do not be afraid to believe and act solely on God's word. You are 100% safe to go by the Bible alone. Remember, scripture is final spiritual authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17), forever settled (Mt. 24:35) and called the word of life (Jn. 6:68; Phil. 2:16).

Infant Baptism By Catholics Vs Scripture; Evangelical Outreach Ex Catholic Dan Corner Takes Issue With The Catechism Of The Catholic Church
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached perhaps 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
Can Biblical truth be debated by man? And, if so, would the consensus reached be based on the Word of God?
Infant baptism is one such issue that has been debated endlessly since the Middle Ages. There are two broad schools of thought. In an article on AboutCatholics.com entitled "A Simple Defense of Infant Baptism", the article states "Infant baptism is one of the traditions that was handed down, but not recorded in the Scriptures."
Another page on Catholic.com states, "Since the New Testament era, the Catholic Church has always understood baptism differently, teaching that it is a sacrament which accomplishes several things, the first of which is the remission of sin, both original sin and actual sin—only original sin in the case of infants and young children, since they are incapable of actual sin; and both original and actual sin in the case of older persons."
Should infants be baptized? Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner had this to say:
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
"...Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: 'Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.' " (CCC 1213).
"The practice of infant Baptism is an immemorial tradition of the Church. There is explicit testimony to this practice from the second century on, and it is quite possible that, from the beginning of the apostolic preaching, when whole "households" received baptism, infants may also have been baptized." (CCC 1252)
"By Baptism all sins are forgiven, the original sin and all personal sins, as well as all punishment for sin." (CCC 1263)
The Catholic Church has made water baptism a salvation issue, thereby elevating it to the pinnacle of importance, even including infants as participants. Throughout the New Testament, Christians have baptized by immersion only those who have a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and who have put to death their sinful nature. These Christian (New Testament) prerequisites for baptism are in opposition to Roman Catholicism and its traditions of men.
There is not a single example of an infant being baptized anywhere in scripture. The Catholic Church has departed from God's word for its teaching, thereby violating scripture with that too (2 Tim. 3:16,17). Such a departure from Holy Writ immediately disqualifies all infants from baptism, thereby indicting the Catholic magisterium as teaching salvation error, but there are other doctrinal problems as well.
The Roman Catholic Church believes "household" baptism, as found in scripture, 'quite possibly' included infants. Such Catholic conjecture does not meet the burden of proof and does not constitute evidence of infant baptism. On the contrary, scriptural evidence shows that "household" includes people old enough to be believer's in Jesus Christ, excluding all infants:
Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he and all his household believed (John 4:53).
Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized (Acts 18:8).
These examples are consistent with the Lord's standard criteria: first become a disciple and then be baptized (Mt. 28:18-20). Therefore, it is impossible for any infant to qualify for Christian baptism.
Again, to teach one is 'reborn' or 'regenerated' at baptism is salvation falsehood of the gravest kind. A prime biblical example disproving baptismal regeneration is Cornelius and his "household" (Acts 11:14). When they heard Peter speak out, "All the prophets testify about him [the Lord Jesus Christ] that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name" (Acts 10:43), they believed, were forgiven and filled with the Holy Spirit instantly. Since God would never fill a child of the devil with his Holy Spirit, then we know they were forgiven and saved, which occurred before and without their water baptism (Acts 10:43-48).
The repentant thief, who qualified for Paradise, is another clear example of someone being forgiven without water baptism (Lk. 23:42,43). That same repentant thief through his faith in the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus met the John 3:5 "born of water and the Spirit" requirement to enter God's kingdom, and without water baptism.
Paul spiritually begat all at Corinth through his gospel preaching (1 Cor. 4:15), but he did not baptize all at Corinth (1 Cor. 1:14-16). That would have been impossible if baptism were a requirement for salvation. 1 Cor. 1:17 shows Paul was "sent" to preach the gospel, but not to baptize. By that he told his listeners that forgiveness of sins comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 26:17,18; 16:31; etc.). These bible truths do not, however, negate the believer's baptism. Christian baptism is to be done very soon after salvation for the pledge of a clear conscience toward God (1 Pet. 3:21).
Because of the RCC "paedobaptism" (infant or pediatric baptism) error, Catholicism has its dearest people thinking they were 'born again', without faith in Jesus, at infant baptism. This Catholic practice is completely foreign to God's written word, yet all who believe scripture are anathemized by the Catholic Council of Trent (Session Seven).
Never forget that, in order to be completely 100% safe from all religious deception, you must rely solely on God’s written word as it is the only true source of all Christian teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. The man of God is thoroughly furnished or fully equipped with scripture alone (2 Tim. 3:16,17). To depart to any other source, which contradicts God's word, will surely lead to error. Such departure from Holy Writ, on the part of Catholic tradition, has resulted in serious, deadly error as it clashes with the Word of God and, therefore, it cannot be God’s life-giving truth.
True biblical salvation occurs at the point of a trusting and submitting faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which includes turning away from all idols (1 Thess. 1:9b; Acts 20:21; 26:20; etc.). Our personal need for the Lord Jesus is universal and could not be more urgent and dire: "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God" ( 1Cor. 6:9-11, NASB).

Pope Francis, In Article On Vatican News, Suggests Christian Martyr Saint Stephen Teaches Us To Forgive - Evangelical Outreach Ex-Catholic Dan Corner Comments Further
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
A story on the Vatican News site entitled "Pope at Angelus: St. Stephen teaches us to forgive", detailed a statement made by Pope Francis who prayed the Angelus recently in St. Peter's Square. The article quotes the Pope as saying that St. Stephen was the first person to follow in Jesus’ footsteps through martyrdom. He died like Jesus, "entrusting his life to God and forgiving his persecutors."
The Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Stephen and venerates Stephen as a saint. Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner believes this is wrong. He had this to say:
Stephen is a powerful example of what a real, zealous and overcoming Christian is. His faith was firmly built upon scripture, which is apparent as he cited God's written word ten times as he summarized the Old Testament directing his audience to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 7:2-53). Stephen scathingly corrected and rebuked the same religious leaders who opposed and condemned the Lord Jesus to crucifixion. Stephen boldly told them to their face that they betrayed and murdered the Righteous One, which infuriated and incited their wicked hearts to murder him with a false charge of blasphemy.
Because Scripture declares that Stephen was also full of grace (Acts 6:8), the Roman Catholics have a serious problem with their doctrine. We can infer that the Catholic teaching of a sinless Mary originates from their belief that Mary was full of grace. Hence, if being "full of grace" implies that one is sinless, then Stephen was sinless too. Such a conclusion, however, is not true for scripture states "all have sinned" (Rom. 3:23), which includes the martyr Stephen as well as Mary, who acknowledged her savior was God (Lk. 1:47). In truth, the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus Christ was the only sinless one. (Heb. 4:15; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 3:18; etc.) Such can also be inferred by Stephen calling him the "Righteous One" (Acts 7:52). If Mary were sinless too (which she was not), then Jesus could not be the "righteous ONE" for there would be two.
Stephen based his teaching upon God's word alone, which is exactly the way Paul directed Timothy to preach (2 Tim. 4:2) and how he himself reasoned (Acts 17:2 cf. 17:11). Why should Christians preach and reason from God's written word alone? Because scripture is final spiritual authority and to be our standard of truth (2 Tim. 3:16,17). All Christian teachings are to be based upon scripture alone in order to be valid, excluding any and all other sources which conflict with it, even if labeled "sacred tradition".
At the "hour of his death," Stephen prayed to Jesus (Acts 7:59). That point is crucial for multitudes of sincere Catholics who have wrongly been taught that they should call on Mary at the "hour of their death," unlike the Christian way exemplified by the martyr Stephen. The truth is Mary is not a mediatrix between us and God. Jesus alone is the one and only mediator (1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24; etc.) and our advocate (1 John 2:1).
Stephen was also a glowing example of fearlessness in the face of ominous death. His mind was locked on God and eternal truth and he did not love his life so much as to shrink from death. As he was being bludgeoned to death with large rocks, he followed the example of his Lord and prayed that God would forgive his killers (Acts 7:60 cf. Lk.23:34). The only time scripture mentions Jesus standing at the right hand of the Father was at the end of Stephen's life (Acts 7:55), perhaps indicating how pleased he was with him.
If Catholics carefully read the New Testament and go by God's written word alone for their beliefs and practices, they will surely be 100% safe. The Christian life begins with a humble heart-felt repentance before God and a commitment of faith to the Lord Jesus Christ to follow him as we put God’s word into practice (2 Cor. 7:10; Acts 20:21; Lk. 8:21; Gal. 3:26; 6:8,9; etc.). False teaching can interfere with and distort what the saving gospel is as well as the genuine Christian life to the place of producing lethal consequences (2 Tim. 2:18; Rev. 2:20; Titus 1:9-11 cf. Titus 2:1).
Please know the sacraments, Mary and being a Catholic have never saved anyone and never will. Jesus is the one and only Savior and the way to the Father (Acts 4:11,12; Jn. 14:6; etc.), who doesn't share his glory with another (Isa. 42:8) and to whom every knee, including Mary’s, will bow and confess as Lord (Phil. 2:10,11). Jesus taught: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Mt. 11:28-30). Catholic friend, will you try to forget these truths or will you wisely change for your soul's sake?

The Solemnity Of Mary The Mother Of God Holy Day Of Obligation Is Out Of Line With Scriptural Truth Says Ex-Catholic Dan Corner, Director Of Evangelical Outreach And Author Of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible'
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
A page on the EWTN Global Catholic Network entitled Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God describes that Feast Day, held each year on January 1. In that article Pope Paul VI is quoted as saying, "This celebration, assigned to January 1 in conformity with the ancient liturgy of the city of Rome, is meant to commemorate the part played by Mary in this mystery of salvation. It is meant also to exalt the singular dignity which this mystery brings to the 'holy Mother . . . through whom we were found worthy . . . to receive the Author of life.' Dan Corner, Director of Evangelical Outreach and author of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible' takes issue with this for a number of reasons. He had this to say:
The New Testament Christians knew nothing about any holy day of obligation – especially one honoring Mary as the "Mother of God." Be assured, the Lord's disciples never specially honored or exalted Mary in scripture, even in the Upper Room (Acts 1). Never is Mary mentioned in any salvation sermon scattered throughout the book of Acts. Such is the eternal record God has provided for mankind to know and draw from. Scripture alone is final spiritual authority and is to be the only source of Christian teachings (2 Tim. 3:16,17).
For Catholics to believe Mary is the Mother of God is also logically impossible since God is eternal and could have no mother. If Mary really was the Mother of God, then Mary preexisted before God, which is impossible. The real Mary of the bible was a mere creature, chosen and blessed to bear the Messiah, but that is where it ends. Her special importance ceased. That is crystal clear, as the Lord Jesus himself openly corrected a Catholic-like woman, who tried to exalt Mary because she bore Jesus and nursed him. "As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, 'Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.' He [Jesus] replied, 'Blessed RATHER are those who hear the word of God and obey it' " (Luke 11:27,28).
The Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God holy day of obligation on January 1 is one of the three of six 'holy days of obligation' honoring Mary in the Roman Catholic Church in the USA. "Those who deliberately fail in this obligation commit a grave sin" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2181). That means a "mortal" sin is committed and the seriousness of that is shown here:
1861 "Mortal sin is a radical possibility of human freedom, as is love itself. It results in the loss of charity and the privation of sanctifying grace, that is, of the state of grace. If it is not redeemed by repentance and God's forgiveness, it causes exclusion from Christ's kingdom and the eternal death of hell...."
The conclusion to that is: Mary is to be honored by Catholics on holy days of obligation or deliberate offenders commit mortal sin, which will send them to hell unless repented of. Dear Catholics, please know that is a violent and idolatrous contradiction to God's word.
In heaven there are 25 thrones – God's and 24 other thrones occupied by the 24 elders (Rev. 4:4), which are all male, thereby excluding Mary from having any of those 25 thrones. Furthermore, there are 24 names on New Jerusalem: 12 on the foundations with the names of the twelve apostles (Rev. 21:14) and 12 on the gates with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel (Rev. 21:12). Again, a mention of Mary is excluded. Over and over, Mary is shown to have no preeminence or exaltation in Paradise. Mary was not the greatest born of woman (Mt. 11:11), nor was she uniquely full of grace (Acts 6:8). She is not even specifically mentioned in heaven and there is no Queen of Heaven. Sincere Catholics have been taught a mythical non-existent Mary, not the real Mary of the bible. To deify Mary is to commit idolatry – a soul-damning sin (Rev. 21:8). That is the real sin that needs to be repented of.
True salvation is obtained by a trusting and submitting faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:16-18; Acts 10:43; Gal. 3:26; etc.), one which unashamedly follows and obeys Jesus here and now (Heb. 5:9; 1 Jn. 2:3,4; 3:7,8; etc.). That includes repentance (2 Pet. 3:9; 2 Cor. 7:10; etc.). Catholics need to know a saving faith in Jesus excludes Mary as being the object of their faith too. We are also to go to Jesus directly for salvation (Mt. 11:28-30; Jn. 5:40; 6:35; 7:37,38; etc.). The Christian's devotion is focused on the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 7:34,35; 2 Cor. 11:3,4) and never on Mary too. It was Jesus, who alone paid for our redemption (1 Pet. 1:18,19; 2:24; Rev. 5:9,10; etc.). Mary is not co-redemptrix, nor do we go to her to get to Jesus or trust in her in the slightest way for anything, especially our salvation, according to the Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles. If the most sincere Catholic departs from scripture for his beliefs, he will surely be lethally deceived. To draw only from God's written word is be 100% safe in your beliefs and practices (2 Tim. 3:16,17). Take these truths to heart and pass them on to others.

Communion For Catholics In Adulterous Unions - Changes In Church And Society Do Not Hold The Power To Change The Truth Says Ex-Catholic Dan Corner, Author Of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible'
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
In a recent article on the LifeSite News website entitled 'Italian bishop seems to approve Communion for some Catholics in adulterous unions', Bishop Gianmarco Busca of the diocese of Mantua was quoted as saying, “the faithful who are divorced and remarried, or who live stably in a second relationship, can embark on an ecclesial journey of reconciliation which, in some cases, can lead to the possibility of gaining access to the sacrament of Penance and Eucharistic Communion.”
However, the truth is the truth. "God's truth is most vital to know and act upon and His truth doesn't depend on what any man or group believes to be right. It depends solely upon what God has said, as stated in the bible. Our eternal destiny depends upon knowing and acting upon that message, which primarily points us to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only Savior," said Dan Corner, a Christian author with four decades of "boots on the ground" ministry.
"The Eucharist (consecrated communion) for Catholics is of vital important to them," Corner stated. "Besides the Mass being centered around the Eucharist, the sincere individual Catholic wrongly thinks he 'receives Christ' when he swallows the communion wafer into his stomach. Catholics have been fallaciously taught they need their Eucharist for 'life,' based on a misuse of John 6:53,54. That is horrible enough, but it actually gets worse. Catholics have also been mis-taught that the Eucharist is the 'literal body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ,' call that change transubstantiation and worship their consecrated communion wafer as God!
"If those extremes were valid claims, everyone should convert over to Catholic. Conversely, if their Eucharist claims are empty and fraudulent, then all Catholics should depart just over that alone. The only way to know the vital truth is to go to God's written word (the Bible) and test those claims (2 Tim. 3:16,17 cf. 1 John 4:1).
"With the water into wine miracle (John 2:1-11), we have a real genuine transubstantiation (change in substance) from God. The difference is: the real transubstantiation led to the water changed into wine to no longer taste like water. Instead, it tasted like wine. Similarly, if Catholicism had the real change in substance with their consecrated Eucharist, then it would taste like real human flesh and blood, which it absolutely doesn't. That simple spiritual truth is vital because it shows Catholics are not really receiving Jesus when they receive the Eucharist, nor are they worshiping God when they worship the Eucharist. To actually 'receive Christ' means one must believe on Jesus' name (John 1:12), which is much different. In other words, one must turn from his wickedness and get seriously committed from his heart to the Lord Jesus to follow and obey him (Acts 20:21; Luke 9:23; Mt. 10:37,38; 1 Jn. 2:3,4; etc.).
"Furthermore, there are multitudes of religious people who are now in remarriage adultery, both Catholic and non-Catholic. They are not really married in God's eyes. Their marriage is a sham and nothing more than the sin of adultery to God! Jesus taught: 'Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery' (Luke 16:18). The 'law of marriage' explicitly states one is married until physical death (Rom. 7:2,3). Regardless who might teach to the contrary, Gianmarco Busca or otherwise, do not believe it. The bible is final spiritual authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17) and falsifies the Catholic Eucharist (Jn. 6:47 cf. Lk. 23:42,43; Gal. 3:26, 2 Pet. 3:9; etc.) and flatly condemns remarriage adultery (Rom. 7:2,3; 1 Cor. 7:39; etc.). True salvation, according to God's eternal word, is much different from how Catholics have been taught. The lethal consequences of Catholic deception will stretch into eternity unless they change based on scripture, regardless how sincere they might be."
