Corner is a Christian author, defender of the Christian faith and evangelist who has had over four decades of experience dealing with the Bible.
Once Saved Always Saved is a controversial idea that raises a multitude of very important questions for Christians. In an article by gotquestions.org entitled "Is a backsliding Christian still saved?, Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) teacher, S. Michael Houdmann, wrote: "Yes, a true Christian who falls back into sin is still saved...." Evangelical Outreach Director Dan Corner believes there is considerable danger in this type of thinking. In an article available on his website, he had this to say:
Though Houdmann wasn't specific, he believes such "sin" could include: adultery, drunkenness, theft, homosexuality, murder, swindling, slander, idolatry, blasphemy, etc. and even be "willful, continuous and unrepentant sin," as he explained in his flawed version of the sin unto death. Such an image of a child of God is violently opposed to God's word, which describes the Christian as: a saint (1 Cor.14:33; Eph. 1:1; Phil. 1:1; Col. 1:4; etc.), a self-denying follower of Jesus (Lk. 9:23; etc.), one who puts into practice God's word (Lk. 8:21), a doer of the will of the Father (Mt. 7:21), one who obeys God (1 Jn. 2:3,4) and lives holy (1 Thess. 4:7,8; 2 Pet. 3:11,12; etc.), etc.
Undoubtedly, eternal security teachers have distorted and smeared the true image of a Christian and reduced him into a spiritually weak and sinful person. They believe the saved can act the same detestable ways as the sin-addicted children of the devil and they even allow for continuous unrepentant sin unto death. In order to smokescreen conceal their license to sin, the eternal security teachers sometimes teach a double message and say if a professing Christian turns to the type of sins as specified above, then "He was never saved to begin with". Such a message, however, is inconsistent with their belief about King David, who turned to both adultery and murder. They all teach that David retained his salvation, while in those heinous sins in defiance to God's word (Ezek. 33:18; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph.5:5-7; Rev. 21:8; etc.). OSAS proponents believe the same about Solomon remaining saved, who turned to the vilest kinds of idolatries (1 Kings 11:1-8).
Eternal security teachers want it both ways - teaching an outrageous backslider is still saved, then "he was never saved" if he does backslide. These glaring inconsistencies are already enough to reveal their error and license to sin, but there is even more with the teaching of the Prodigal Son (Lk. 15:11-32). The prodigal deliberately departed from the Father into wild living and to be with the prostitutes. He finally turned away from those sins (repented) to return to the Father to serve him again. The Father said to the sorrowful and repentant prodigal, "For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate" (Luke15:24).
Luke 15 clearly shows backsliders do indeed become spiritually dead and lost just like the prodigal did when he turned to wild living. This stark reality of a change in spiritual identity is in contrast to Once Saved Always Saved dogma. Remember that is Jesus' teaching about backsliders, that is, that they are spiritually dead and lost. Luke 15:24 also shows the prodigal became "alive again," which proves (1) backsliders can return to salvation via repentance and (2) the prodigal had salvation before he died spiritually when he departed into wild living. Those truths are essential and prove eternal security is an incontrovertible false teaching and a license to sin. All such OSAS teachers must argue (if consistent to their doctrine) that the prodigal retained his salvation when with the prostitutes, thereby inferring there are Christian whoremongers! If that extreme is not a license to sin, then what is? This, however, is the image of a Christian they have created and want us to accept.
It is critical for backsliders to know they must repent for salvation's sake, but that truth is also sadly denied by Once Saved Always Saved. Moreover, the unnamed incestuous and adulterous man of 1 Cor. 5:1-5, who was committing sin which even pagans wouldn't do, is said to have been a Christian by many OSAS teachers. Eternal security teacher, David J. Stewart of jesusissavior.org, has also openly admitted, "I am going to Heaven, regardless of how I live. But you say, that's crazy! No! That's Bible! So do Christians have a license to sin? Yes, if you want to view it that way."
Furthermore, multiple divorced Hal Lindsey stated, "I'm sad to say that some of the worst sins I ever committed have been after salvation." By stating that, Lindsey is saying a Christian can be more vile and wicked than before his salvation, yet retain his salvation through it all.
Just believing the OSAS doctrine itself sets one up for arrogance (Rom. 11:19-22) and a spiritual fall (1 Cor. 10:12). Such occurs because the proponents think they are standing firm even to the point that their salvation is now irrevocable, irreversible and unalterable, and they see no need to fear being cut off. They don't believe their salvation can be imperiled by anything they do or don't do or anything they believe or don't believe, regardless of what it is.
The unspoken goal of the eternal security teacher is to convince others that a Christian can stray and become wildly immoral, grossly sinful and flagrantly disobedient and still retain his salvation while unrepentant and only jeopardize his rewards, fellowship, etc., but never his salvation and relationship with God. Those who object to that observation with their "never saved to begin with" sophistry and inconsistencies are immediately silenced by King David and the OSAS errant version of the sin unto death. The eternal security teachers calculatingly declare their OSAS doctrine is under and linked to the gospel, grace, the blood of Christ, infinite work of Christ, imputed righteousness, etc. when it has nothing to do with any of these basic truths of Christianity.
The OSAS teachers also further distort the Christian opposition as teaching a works salvation, legalism and being cultic. One of the primary proof texts for Once Saved Always Saved is John 10:28, which states the subjects will never perish and no man can snatch them out of God's hand. The OSAS teachers say those promises apply even to the backsliders, but the context shows those wonderful promises only belong to the continuous tense followers of Christ (John10:27), which excludes backsliders.
S. Michael Houdmann of gotquestions.org also wrote, "The Bible tells us that if a person denies Christ, he never truly knew Christ to begin with." Is it possible that Houdmann, and others like him, are unaware of Peter's thrice denial of Christ (Mt. 26:33,34)? When Peter's denial (Mt.26:70,72) is examined with Mt. 10:33, the same Greek term (arneomai) is found which pulverizes OSAS beyond repair. Why? Because Jesus did disown Peter as he warned his apostles, "But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven" (Mt. 10:33). Therefore we know, since Peter disowned Jesus, Jesus likewise disowned Peter. Afterwards, Peter repented and turned back to God (Lk. 22:32), but the point is one is no longer saved if Jesus disowns him, as happened to Peter at that time. That fact alone is another certain deathblow to OSAS.

Evangelical Outreach Ex Catholic Dan Corner Takes Issue With Our Lady Of Fatima's Irreconcilable Differences With God's Word
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached perhaps 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
In a recent piece on romereports.com, Pope Francis is quoted as saying "I will go to Fatima on a pilgrimage, to entrust to the Virgin the temporal and eternal destinies of humanity." Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner and author of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible?' takes issue with the Fatima apparitions, as the Fatima apparition makes statements that directly conflict with scripture. Corner had this to say:
One of the all time best known Catholic Marian apparitions occurred in Fatima Portugal in 1917. They consist of three apparitions of angels and at least six apparitions of Mary. Those apparitions would have us focus our attention upon Mary, who has become known as "Our Lady of Fatima." Because of these Fatima visions, Mary has been declared to be our refuge and protector, as well as the way to God and so forth. Moreover, according to those Catholic visions, amends for sin are also to be made to Mary. It is estimated that multiple millions of people go to that Fatima shrine each year, thereby reflecting its importance to multitudes.
Officially speaking, Catholics are not bound to believe in any of the Marian apparitions, such as Fatima (1917), but it must also be noted that all popes from Benedict XV (1914-1922) and afterwards have favorably spoken about Fatima, showing their endorsement of those Marian apparitions and corresponding doctrines. Therefore, to the Catholic laity, the 1917 Fatima visions are a definite message "directly from heaven" itself. In fact, Tan Book and Publishers has printed a booklet on Fatima entitled that very thing – "Our Lady's of Fatima's Peace Plan From Heaven." Consequently, the Catholic laity of 1 billion plus will accept Fatima and all the related dogmas.
As a former Roman Catholic, the following 1917 Fatima quote is most significant to me:
"I (Mary) will never leave you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God" (Lucia Speaks on The Message of Fatima, Ave Maria Institute, 1968, p.26).
It was over that very statement that I finally left Roman Catholicism because of its irreconcilable differences with God's word. God's truth declares the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus as "the way" to the Father (Jn. 14:6) and God himself as our "refuge" (Psa. 46:1; etc.).
So, how can such a scripture-conflicting statement from "Our Lady at Fatima" be reconciled to God's truth? The answer is found in 2 Cor. 11:14: "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light". The devil, who is not in hell now, is always trying to religiously deceive and tempt people away from God's ways. It is also important to know that the devil has power to perform miracles (2 Thess. 2:9,10; Rev. 13:13-15; 16:14; 19:20; etc.). These biblical truths also explain the Fatima "Miracle of the Sun." Remember: any apparition or miracle which does not parallel God's written word is not from the same source that gave us the Bible.
Besides the aforementioned doctrinal differences with scripture, the following Fatima false prophecy is another nail in the Fatima coffin, further diminishing the credibility of the Catholic magisterium, which has approved all these false prophecies and visions. That false prophecy unfolds from the report first given on May 13, 1917, then on July 13th:
"I [the personage claiming to be Mary] came to ask you to come here for six successive months, on the 13th day at the same hour" (ibid., p. 22).
"I [the personage claiming to be Mary] want you to come here on the 13th of next month [August 1917]" (ibid., 28).
In contrast, the fourth of the Fatima visions occurred on August 15, 1917 and in a place other than the Cova da Iria called Valinhos; in other words, that particular vision occurred at the wrong time and at the wrong place according to the repeated prediction or “prophecy” of where and when the vision was supposed to take place. Such is tantamount to a false prophecy. If we consider the foregoing, plus the aforementioned unscriptural teaching at Fatima, it becomes even more clear that the so called "Our Lady of Fatima" is not the real Mary of the Bible, but instead our enemy, the "father of lies" (Jn. 8:44). Even more evidence unfolds with the following unscriptural Fatima narrative:
“I [the personage claiming to be Mary] promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, go to Confession and receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep me company for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me" (ibid., p. 47).
The true gospel (plan of salvation) of the Bible bares absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the counterfeit gospel of Our Lady of Fatima. True salvation comes from repentance from sin and a heart-felt submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to follow and serve him unashamedly (Acts 20:21; 26:20; Lk. 9:23; Gal. 3:26). Such a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus in turn will result in freedom from sin's addictions and will transform a former servant of the devil to a servant of God (Rom.6:22). Such faith will also result in rest for one's soul (Mt. 11:29), unfeigned love for Christians (1 John 3:14), obedience to God's commands (1 Jn. 2:3,4) and being ashamed of one's past life of sin before salvation (Rom. 6:21). Furthermore, the true Christian has become an object of God's mercy (Titus 3:5; Pet. 2:10; etc.), a recipient of eternal life (Jn. 6:47; 1 Jn. 5:12,13; etc.) and is now a new creation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17).
Imagine being a faithful Catholic who implicitly trusts the magisterium. You go to daily mass, the stations of the cross and to confession; you receive the Eucharist weekly, perform novenas, and have been on Fatima pilgrimages; finally, at the hour of your death, you call on Mary only to die and find out too late you have been dreadfully wrong and misled by your trusted leaders. This tragedy has been the reality for hundreds of millions of Catholics, including canonized Catholics “saints.” To make matters worse, many non-Catholics are not doing anything to help Catholics find true biblical salvation. Why aren’t they? Ignorance is part of it, but the ecumenical non-Catholic compromise with Catholics is also a major part of the problem. True Christians need to reach out to the world’s billion dear Catholics and to share these vital truths with them. God bless you.

Evangelical Outreach Ex Catholic Dan Corner Takes Issue With The Worship Of Images By The Catholic Church
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached perhaps 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
Are the commandments found in the Bible subject to interpretation? Should we allow modern-day influences to color those interpretations? If so, who should be the final authority?
For instance, the First Commandment forbids the worship of images. Yet, according to an article found on catholic.org, the First Commandment "was never understood as an absolute and universal prohibition of any kind of image." The actual wording of the commandment found in Exodus, found in the same article commands "Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them
What is the truth about the worship of images? Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner had this to say:
True worship is very important to the Almighty. The PRECIOUS Lord Jesus taught "...true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23,24).
In contrast to worshiping God in spirit and in truth, is the way pagans worship their false gods by bowing down and kissing images and statues of their likeness (1 Ki. 19:18; Hosea 13:2). Note this similarity to how Catholicism uses their images, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
"The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. Indeed, 'the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype,' and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person portrayed in it". (CCC 2132)
"Through sacred images of the holy Mother of God, of the angels and of the saints, we venerate the persons represented". (CCC 1192)
Furthermore, catholic.org stated this: "In kneeling before the crucifix and kissing it we are paying the highest honor to the our Lord's cross as the instrument of our salvation" [sic]. That is exactly what is done in Catholic churches on Good Friday. Catholics sincerely believe they are showing love to the Lord Jesus by bowing down before a crucifix and kissing the feet of the image they consider to represent Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, Catholics do not know that scripture does not command people to bow down and kiss images or statues, but actually forbids and condemns such a practice. Jesus taught we show our love for him by obeying his commands (Jn. 14:15; 14:23,24), and his commands include not bowing before and kissing images (Ex. 20:4-6; 1 Kings 19:18; etc.).
Dear reader, be assured there were no religious images of any kind whatsoever among the New Testament Christians, much less so when they prayed to or worshiped God. This absence of religious images is clearly consistent with God’s command to worship him in spirit and truth but in contradistinction to the Golden Calf debacle where the people bowed down and sacrificed to their manmade image of gold thinking such were the gods who delivered them out of Egypt:
"So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry. Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt' " (Ex. 32:6-8).
Let it be noted that the whole Golden Calf ordeal was meant to be a festival to the LORD (YHWH), that is, the true God of the Bible (Ex. 32:5)! They were trying to worship and honor God, not a pagan deity. Their idolatrous attempt to worship and sacrifice through an image quickly corrupted them – changing their spiritual identity to idolaters (1 Cor. 10:7) and having their names removed from God's heavenly book (Ex. 32:33).
Although their leader Aaron mistaught them, and despite the Israelite’s sincere attempt to honor and worship Almighty God through this golden calf, they were nonetheless guilty of the sin of idolatry. God, unmoved by their sincerity, refused their false worship; instead he became angry and removed their names from the Book of Life because of their sin of idolatry.
As a boy, I was indoctrinated into Roman Catholicism through "The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism." The version of the Ten Commandments presented to us Catholics only stated the following about idolatry:
"I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before Me" [ibid., 1962 ed. p. 100.] We knew nothing about Exodus 20:4-6 and especially this passage:
"You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven" (Deut. 4:15-19).
Hence, God forbids us to make or bow down to an image in the form of a man or a woman – the very way Catholics are taught to worship God, venerate Mary, and honor the saints.
Idolatry is so offensive and reprehensible to God, that all idolaters will be thrown into the lake of fire for that sin (Rev. 21:8), that is, unless they sincerely turn away from it and get forgiven. So what should Catholics do with their religious images through which they try to worship Jesus or honor Mary and the saints? They should be smashed and removed from their house (Ex. 34:12-14; Deut. 7:25,26). God alone is to be worshiped, excluding veneration to all others. ("Veneration" is a synonym for worship, that is, it means the same thing.)
Catholics must go by God's written word alone and they must realize their magisterium (teaching authorities) have horribly betrayed them by leading them away from Holy Writ in various, dangerous ways. Do not be afraid to believe and act solely on God's word. You are 100% safe to go by the Bible alone. Remember, scripture is final spiritual authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17), forever settled (Mt. 24:35) and called the word of life (Jn. 6:68; Phil. 2:16).

Infant Baptism By Catholics Vs Scripture; Evangelical Outreach Ex Catholic Dan Corner Takes Issue With The Catechism Of The Catholic Church
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached perhaps 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
Can Biblical truth be debated by man? And, if so, would the consensus reached be based on the Word of God?
Infant baptism is one such issue that has been debated endlessly since the Middle Ages. There are two broad schools of thought. In an article on AboutCatholics.com entitled "A Simple Defense of Infant Baptism", the article states "Infant baptism is one of the traditions that was handed down, but not recorded in the Scriptures."
Another page on Catholic.com states, "Since the New Testament era, the Catholic Church has always understood baptism differently, teaching that it is a sacrament which accomplishes several things, the first of which is the remission of sin, both original sin and actual sin—only original sin in the case of infants and young children, since they are incapable of actual sin; and both original and actual sin in the case of older persons."
Should infants be baptized? Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner had this to say:
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
"...Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: 'Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.' " (CCC 1213).
"The practice of infant Baptism is an immemorial tradition of the Church. There is explicit testimony to this practice from the second century on, and it is quite possible that, from the beginning of the apostolic preaching, when whole "households" received baptism, infants may also have been baptized." (CCC 1252)
"By Baptism all sins are forgiven, the original sin and all personal sins, as well as all punishment for sin." (CCC 1263)
The Catholic Church has made water baptism a salvation issue, thereby elevating it to the pinnacle of importance, even including infants as participants. Throughout the New Testament, Christians have baptized by immersion only those who have a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and who have put to death their sinful nature. These Christian (New Testament) prerequisites for baptism are in opposition to Roman Catholicism and its traditions of men.
There is not a single example of an infant being baptized anywhere in scripture. The Catholic Church has departed from God's word for its teaching, thereby violating scripture with that too (2 Tim. 3:16,17). Such a departure from Holy Writ immediately disqualifies all infants from baptism, thereby indicting the Catholic magisterium as teaching salvation error, but there are other doctrinal problems as well.
The Roman Catholic Church believes "household" baptism, as found in scripture, 'quite possibly' included infants. Such Catholic conjecture does not meet the burden of proof and does not constitute evidence of infant baptism. On the contrary, scriptural evidence shows that "household" includes people old enough to be believer's in Jesus Christ, excluding all infants:
Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he and all his household believed (John 4:53).
Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized (Acts 18:8).
These examples are consistent with the Lord's standard criteria: first become a disciple and then be baptized (Mt. 28:18-20). Therefore, it is impossible for any infant to qualify for Christian baptism.
Again, to teach one is 'reborn' or 'regenerated' at baptism is salvation falsehood of the gravest kind. A prime biblical example disproving baptismal regeneration is Cornelius and his "household" (Acts 11:14). When they heard Peter speak out, "All the prophets testify about him [the Lord Jesus Christ] that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name" (Acts 10:43), they believed, were forgiven and filled with the Holy Spirit instantly. Since God would never fill a child of the devil with his Holy Spirit, then we know they were forgiven and saved, which occurred before and without their water baptism (Acts 10:43-48).
The repentant thief, who qualified for Paradise, is another clear example of someone being forgiven without water baptism (Lk. 23:42,43). That same repentant thief through his faith in the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus met the John 3:5 "born of water and the Spirit" requirement to enter God's kingdom, and without water baptism.
Paul spiritually begat all at Corinth through his gospel preaching (1 Cor. 4:15), but he did not baptize all at Corinth (1 Cor. 1:14-16). That would have been impossible if baptism were a requirement for salvation. 1 Cor. 1:17 shows Paul was "sent" to preach the gospel, but not to baptize. By that he told his listeners that forgiveness of sins comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 26:17,18; 16:31; etc.). These bible truths do not, however, negate the believer's baptism. Christian baptism is to be done very soon after salvation for the pledge of a clear conscience toward God (1 Pet. 3:21).
Because of the RCC "paedobaptism" (infant or pediatric baptism) error, Catholicism has its dearest people thinking they were 'born again', without faith in Jesus, at infant baptism. This Catholic practice is completely foreign to God's written word, yet all who believe scripture are anathemized by the Catholic Council of Trent (Session Seven).
Never forget that, in order to be completely 100% safe from all religious deception, you must rely solely on God’s written word as it is the only true source of all Christian teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. The man of God is thoroughly furnished or fully equipped with scripture alone (2 Tim. 3:16,17). To depart to any other source, which contradicts God's word, will surely lead to error. Such departure from Holy Writ, on the part of Catholic tradition, has resulted in serious, deadly error as it clashes with the Word of God and, therefore, it cannot be God’s life-giving truth.
True biblical salvation occurs at the point of a trusting and submitting faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which includes turning away from all idols (1 Thess. 1:9b; Acts 20:21; 26:20; etc.). Our personal need for the Lord Jesus is universal and could not be more urgent and dire: "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God" ( 1Cor. 6:9-11, NASB).

Pope Francis, In Article On Vatican News, Suggests Christian Martyr Saint Stephen Teaches Us To Forgive - Evangelical Outreach Ex-Catholic Dan Corner Comments Further
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
A story on the Vatican News site entitled "Pope at Angelus: St. Stephen teaches us to forgive", detailed a statement made by Pope Francis who prayed the Angelus recently in St. Peter's Square. The article quotes the Pope as saying that St. Stephen was the first person to follow in Jesus’ footsteps through martyrdom. He died like Jesus, "entrusting his life to God and forgiving his persecutors."
The Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Stephen and venerates Stephen as a saint. Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner believes this is wrong. He had this to say:
Stephen is a powerful example of what a real, zealous and overcoming Christian is. His faith was firmly built upon scripture, which is apparent as he cited God's written word ten times as he summarized the Old Testament directing his audience to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 7:2-53). Stephen scathingly corrected and rebuked the same religious leaders who opposed and condemned the Lord Jesus to crucifixion. Stephen boldly told them to their face that they betrayed and murdered the Righteous One, which infuriated and incited their wicked hearts to murder him with a false charge of blasphemy.
Because Scripture declares that Stephen was also full of grace (Acts 6:8), the Roman Catholics have a serious problem with their doctrine. We can infer that the Catholic teaching of a sinless Mary originates from their belief that Mary was full of grace. Hence, if being "full of grace" implies that one is sinless, then Stephen was sinless too. Such a conclusion, however, is not true for scripture states "all have sinned" (Rom. 3:23), which includes the martyr Stephen as well as Mary, who acknowledged her savior was God (Lk. 1:47). In truth, the PRECIOUS Lord Jesus Christ was the only sinless one. (Heb. 4:15; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 3:18; etc.) Such can also be inferred by Stephen calling him the "Righteous One" (Acts 7:52). If Mary were sinless too (which she was not), then Jesus could not be the "righteous ONE" for there would be two.
Stephen based his teaching upon God's word alone, which is exactly the way Paul directed Timothy to preach (2 Tim. 4:2) and how he himself reasoned (Acts 17:2 cf. 17:11). Why should Christians preach and reason from God's written word alone? Because scripture is final spiritual authority and to be our standard of truth (2 Tim. 3:16,17). All Christian teachings are to be based upon scripture alone in order to be valid, excluding any and all other sources which conflict with it, even if labeled "sacred tradition".
At the "hour of his death," Stephen prayed to Jesus (Acts 7:59). That point is crucial for multitudes of sincere Catholics who have wrongly been taught that they should call on Mary at the "hour of their death," unlike the Christian way exemplified by the martyr Stephen. The truth is Mary is not a mediatrix between us and God. Jesus alone is the one and only mediator (1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24; etc.) and our advocate (1 John 2:1).
Stephen was also a glowing example of fearlessness in the face of ominous death. His mind was locked on God and eternal truth and he did not love his life so much as to shrink from death. As he was being bludgeoned to death with large rocks, he followed the example of his Lord and prayed that God would forgive his killers (Acts 7:60 cf. Lk.23:34). The only time scripture mentions Jesus standing at the right hand of the Father was at the end of Stephen's life (Acts 7:55), perhaps indicating how pleased he was with him.
If Catholics carefully read the New Testament and go by God's written word alone for their beliefs and practices, they will surely be 100% safe. The Christian life begins with a humble heart-felt repentance before God and a commitment of faith to the Lord Jesus Christ to follow him as we put God’s word into practice (2 Cor. 7:10; Acts 20:21; Lk. 8:21; Gal. 3:26; 6:8,9; etc.). False teaching can interfere with and distort what the saving gospel is as well as the genuine Christian life to the place of producing lethal consequences (2 Tim. 2:18; Rev. 2:20; Titus 1:9-11 cf. Titus 2:1).
Please know the sacraments, Mary and being a Catholic have never saved anyone and never will. Jesus is the one and only Savior and the way to the Father (Acts 4:11,12; Jn. 14:6; etc.), who doesn't share his glory with another (Isa. 42:8) and to whom every knee, including Mary’s, will bow and confess as Lord (Phil. 2:10,11). Jesus taught: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Mt. 11:28-30). Catholic friend, will you try to forget these truths or will you wisely change for your soul's sake?

The Solemnity Of Mary The Mother Of God Holy Day Of Obligation Is Out Of Line With Scriptural Truth Says Ex-Catholic Dan Corner, Director Of Evangelical Outreach And Author Of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible'
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
A page on the EWTN Global Catholic Network entitled Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God describes that Feast Day, held each year on January 1. In that article Pope Paul VI is quoted as saying, "This celebration, assigned to January 1 in conformity with the ancient liturgy of the city of Rome, is meant to commemorate the part played by Mary in this mystery of salvation. It is meant also to exalt the singular dignity which this mystery brings to the 'holy Mother . . . through whom we were found worthy . . . to receive the Author of life.' Dan Corner, Director of Evangelical Outreach and author of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible' takes issue with this for a number of reasons. He had this to say:
The New Testament Christians knew nothing about any holy day of obligation – especially one honoring Mary as the "Mother of God." Be assured, the Lord's disciples never specially honored or exalted Mary in scripture, even in the Upper Room (Acts 1). Never is Mary mentioned in any salvation sermon scattered throughout the book of Acts. Such is the eternal record God has provided for mankind to know and draw from. Scripture alone is final spiritual authority and is to be the only source of Christian teachings (2 Tim. 3:16,17).
For Catholics to believe Mary is the Mother of God is also logically impossible since God is eternal and could have no mother. If Mary really was the Mother of God, then Mary preexisted before God, which is impossible. The real Mary of the bible was a mere creature, chosen and blessed to bear the Messiah, but that is where it ends. Her special importance ceased. That is crystal clear, as the Lord Jesus himself openly corrected a Catholic-like woman, who tried to exalt Mary because she bore Jesus and nursed him. "As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, 'Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.' He [Jesus] replied, 'Blessed RATHER are those who hear the word of God and obey it' " (Luke 11:27,28).
The Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God holy day of obligation on January 1 is one of the three of six 'holy days of obligation' honoring Mary in the Roman Catholic Church in the USA. "Those who deliberately fail in this obligation commit a grave sin" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2181). That means a "mortal" sin is committed and the seriousness of that is shown here:
1861 "Mortal sin is a radical possibility of human freedom, as is love itself. It results in the loss of charity and the privation of sanctifying grace, that is, of the state of grace. If it is not redeemed by repentance and God's forgiveness, it causes exclusion from Christ's kingdom and the eternal death of hell...."
The conclusion to that is: Mary is to be honored by Catholics on holy days of obligation or deliberate offenders commit mortal sin, which will send them to hell unless repented of. Dear Catholics, please know that is a violent and idolatrous contradiction to God's word.
In heaven there are 25 thrones – God's and 24 other thrones occupied by the 24 elders (Rev. 4:4), which are all male, thereby excluding Mary from having any of those 25 thrones. Furthermore, there are 24 names on New Jerusalem: 12 on the foundations with the names of the twelve apostles (Rev. 21:14) and 12 on the gates with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel (Rev. 21:12). Again, a mention of Mary is excluded. Over and over, Mary is shown to have no preeminence or exaltation in Paradise. Mary was not the greatest born of woman (Mt. 11:11), nor was she uniquely full of grace (Acts 6:8). She is not even specifically mentioned in heaven and there is no Queen of Heaven. Sincere Catholics have been taught a mythical non-existent Mary, not the real Mary of the bible. To deify Mary is to commit idolatry – a soul-damning sin (Rev. 21:8). That is the real sin that needs to be repented of.
True salvation is obtained by a trusting and submitting faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:16-18; Acts 10:43; Gal. 3:26; etc.), one which unashamedly follows and obeys Jesus here and now (Heb. 5:9; 1 Jn. 2:3,4; 3:7,8; etc.). That includes repentance (2 Pet. 3:9; 2 Cor. 7:10; etc.). Catholics need to know a saving faith in Jesus excludes Mary as being the object of their faith too. We are also to go to Jesus directly for salvation (Mt. 11:28-30; Jn. 5:40; 6:35; 7:37,38; etc.). The Christian's devotion is focused on the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 7:34,35; 2 Cor. 11:3,4) and never on Mary too. It was Jesus, who alone paid for our redemption (1 Pet. 1:18,19; 2:24; Rev. 5:9,10; etc.). Mary is not co-redemptrix, nor do we go to her to get to Jesus or trust in her in the slightest way for anything, especially our salvation, according to the Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles. If the most sincere Catholic departs from scripture for his beliefs, he will surely be lethally deceived. To draw only from God's written word is be 100% safe in your beliefs and practices (2 Tim. 3:16,17). Take these truths to heart and pass them on to others.

Communion For Catholics In Adulterous Unions - Changes In Church And Society Do Not Hold The Power To Change The Truth Says Ex-Catholic Dan Corner, Author Of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible'
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
In a recent article on the LifeSite News website entitled 'Italian bishop seems to approve Communion for some Catholics in adulterous unions', Bishop Gianmarco Busca of the diocese of Mantua was quoted as saying, “the faithful who are divorced and remarried, or who live stably in a second relationship, can embark on an ecclesial journey of reconciliation which, in some cases, can lead to the possibility of gaining access to the sacrament of Penance and Eucharistic Communion.”
However, the truth is the truth. "God's truth is most vital to know and act upon and His truth doesn't depend on what any man or group believes to be right. It depends solely upon what God has said, as stated in the bible. Our eternal destiny depends upon knowing and acting upon that message, which primarily points us to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only Savior," said Dan Corner, a Christian author with four decades of "boots on the ground" ministry.
"The Eucharist (consecrated communion) for Catholics is of vital important to them," Corner stated. "Besides the Mass being centered around the Eucharist, the sincere individual Catholic wrongly thinks he 'receives Christ' when he swallows the communion wafer into his stomach. Catholics have been fallaciously taught they need their Eucharist for 'life,' based on a misuse of John 6:53,54. That is horrible enough, but it actually gets worse. Catholics have also been mis-taught that the Eucharist is the 'literal body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ,' call that change transubstantiation and worship their consecrated communion wafer as God!
"If those extremes were valid claims, everyone should convert over to Catholic. Conversely, if their Eucharist claims are empty and fraudulent, then all Catholics should depart just over that alone. The only way to know the vital truth is to go to God's written word (the Bible) and test those claims (2 Tim. 3:16,17 cf. 1 John 4:1).
"With the water into wine miracle (John 2:1-11), we have a real genuine transubstantiation (change in substance) from God. The difference is: the real transubstantiation led to the water changed into wine to no longer taste like water. Instead, it tasted like wine. Similarly, if Catholicism had the real change in substance with their consecrated Eucharist, then it would taste like real human flesh and blood, which it absolutely doesn't. That simple spiritual truth is vital because it shows Catholics are not really receiving Jesus when they receive the Eucharist, nor are they worshiping God when they worship the Eucharist. To actually 'receive Christ' means one must believe on Jesus' name (John 1:12), which is much different. In other words, one must turn from his wickedness and get seriously committed from his heart to the Lord Jesus to follow and obey him (Acts 20:21; Luke 9:23; Mt. 10:37,38; 1 Jn. 2:3,4; etc.).
"Furthermore, there are multitudes of religious people who are now in remarriage adultery, both Catholic and non-Catholic. They are not really married in God's eyes. Their marriage is a sham and nothing more than the sin of adultery to God! Jesus taught: 'Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery' (Luke 16:18). The 'law of marriage' explicitly states one is married until physical death (Rom. 7:2,3). Regardless who might teach to the contrary, Gianmarco Busca or otherwise, do not believe it. The bible is final spiritual authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17) and falsifies the Catholic Eucharist (Jn. 6:47 cf. Lk. 23:42,43; Gal. 3:26, 2 Pet. 3:9; etc.) and flatly condemns remarriage adultery (Rom. 7:2,3; 1 Cor. 7:39; etc.). True salvation, according to God's eternal word, is much different from how Catholics have been taught. The lethal consequences of Catholic deception will stretch into eternity unless they change based on scripture, regardless how sincere they might be."

Pope Francis' Words To Gay Priests Do Not Address The Real Problem Says Dan Corner, Author Of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible'
Corner is an ordained pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
In a recent article on the National Catholic Reporter site by Thomas Reese entitled, "Pope to gay priests: Be celibate or get out," Pope Francis said to gay priests what he also has said to heterosexual priests - observe celibacy or get out. Here he is not only addressing gay priests, but all priests. Author Dan Corner does not believe the real issue is being addressed. He had this to say:
"For Pope Francis to address gay priests the way he does isn't going to address the root problem, the spiritual one, that exists among so many Catholic priests worldwide. All homosexuals – Catholic priests or otherwise – need to be freed and forgiven from their sin addictions, which happens at true salvation (Jn. 8:34-36; Rom. 6:16-18; 6:22; Rev. 1:5; etc.). To be freed from his sin addictions a homosexual, alcoholic, thief, swindler and the like must sincerely and humbly repent and submissively commit to follow Jesus, as shown throughout scripture (Lk. 9:23; Acts 20:21; 26:17,18; 26:20; 2 Pet. 3:9; etc.).
"There is certain and absolute forgiveness and liberation from sin's slavery for the repentant unrighteous through Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 6:9-11 is especially very clear on that salvation truth. The seriousness of ignoring or rejecting God's truth is shown in scripture: 'In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.' (Jude 1:7).
"Also, there is absolutely no scriptural need for a true spiritual leader to be celibate. The Apostle Peter himself was a married man (Mt. 8:14), as were other chief servants of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 9:5). In fact, spiritual leaders are to be husbands of one wife (1 Tim. 3:2; 3:12; Titus 1:6). It is doctrines of demons, which forbid marriage and to abstain from certain foods (1 Tim. 4:1-3).
Dan Corner is the author of a number of books including 'The Believer's Conditional Security: Eternal Security Refuted', 'The Myth of Eternal Security' and 'Is this the Mary of the Bible?'. He also provides a massive amount of information on his websites.

The Primary Issue Faced By Catholics Today Lies Far Beyond Abuse By Priests Says Dan Corner, Author Of 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible'
Corner is an ordained pastor and Christian author who, over three decades, has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
To many of us, the abuse of children by Catholic priests seems to be a tragic nightmare that is incomprehensible. Our media is filled with hundreds of headlines regarding the abuse. Sadly, these alarming events are not limited in any way by specific circumstances or geographic area. This problem spans the globe and, as we are now seeing, has been with us for a very long time. While appalling and shocking, Dan Corner believes there is an even more sobering issue that all Catholics must address - the glorification of Mary.
"God does not share his glory with Mary, as Catholics think," Corner stated. "Mary is not a co-redemptrix, nor is she the 'life, sweetness or hope' 'the way' to God, our refuge or sinless. Catholicism has erected a mythical Mary that is a rival of the Lord Jesus, with the same titles at times, who is prayed to and to whom misled Catholics consecrate themselves."
In 'Is This The Mary Of The Bible', the evidence regarding the salvation issue is examined by Corner, a former pre- and post-Vatican Council II Catholic. In his easy-to-read, documented and Scripture-indexed volume readers are exposed to the present-day official teachings of Catholicism on Mary, which parallel what it has been declaring for hundreds of years through various past popes, cardinals, Catholic saints and theologians to the greatest Marian apparitions that have ever occurred. The Mary of Catholicism is so deeply interwoven throughout the whole of Roman Catholicism that it is impossible to logically reject it and still have a trustworthy religious system left to aid one with spiritual guidance. In this publication, readers are presented with compelling evidence contrasting the Mary of Catholicism to the Mary of the Bible.
"Millions of very sincere Catholics have been mis-taught about the real Mary of the Bible," Corner stated. "Mary, the mother of Jesus is the Christian's sister – not mother. As the Lord Jesus himself openly corrected a Catholic-like woman, who praised Mary for giving him birth and nursing him, Jesus wants all to know who are the really 'blessed' people,"Blessed RATHER are those who hear the word of God and obey it" (Luke 11:27,28).
"To have true salvation, it takes sincere and humble heart-felt repentance and a submissive faith in the Lord Jesus to follow and obey (Acts 20:21; 26:20; 2 Pet. 3:9; 1 John 2:3,4; etc.). All 100% of our trust and reliance is to be in the Lord Jesus Christ leaving 0% for Mary. Jesus taught we are to go directly to him to find rest for our souls and eternal life (Mt. 11:28,29; Jn. 4:10; 5:40; etc.). We are to do devotions to Jesus (1 Cor. 7:34,35; 2 Cor. 11:3,4), not Mary.
"For your own soul's sake, carefully read through the entire New Testament and change accordingly. It is in the bible that we will factually learn: how to be forgiven, be spiritually purified, how to please God, what the real Christian life is like, etc."
