Author Sarah Klaiber Announces The Release Of New Children's Book, 'Treasures'

Klaiber's new book teaches kids and adults how good it feels to love and appreciate the treasures all around us.

Author Sarah Klaiber has announced the release of a new kids' book, 'Treasures'.

There are millions of children's books available today, and thousands of books on the value of positive thinking.  Award winning author Sarah Klaiber has managed to take a completely unique approach to both genres with this new release.

Nearly all of these kinds of books extol the virtues of positive thinking. Nothing new there. However, to find the reason WHY we should be positive, we must look beyond our perceptions of everyday events. This goes beyond positive thinking to the realization that every happening - good, bad, ugly, sad - offers us the opportunity to find a hidden treasure. What is a treasure? A treasure is anything that has value. And every one of those treasures holds massive power. How do we do that? There are three simple steps - Stop. Look. Appreciate.

"I wrote this book to remind kids and adults to appreciate the small things, the things around them that mean more than they realize," Klaiber stated. "If more children grow up with this message, the world could some day be a happier place. The same result could come from more adults being reminded of it as well."

A child's mental health is all important. Our children face issues we have never faced. The mental health issue is particularly challenging, as today's kids must interact in a world in which social media (and the resulting cyberbullying) take center stage. This does not only affect children. Adults face many of the same issues. Thankfully, Sarah did not stop with publishing a book. She also created a blog where she presents all kinds of ideas in regards to learning how to stop, look and appreciate.

When asked about the mission of her blog, Sarah stated “It is important to think positively more often than most of us do. The opportunity is always with us, not just when the book is open. My blog gives this message value. It gives the opportunity to connect, comfort and allow gentle reminders into our unprioritized minds.”

'Treasures' has received high praise from readers and reviewers. The book received a five star review from Readers Favorite. In that review, Barbara Fanson stated, "Treasures will remind children that they have a lot more valuable items in their life than they realize." Red City Review said, "The lesson offered is a crucial one, and parents will be sure to support the message that the book is trying to make." Another Amazon reviewer said, "Perfect book for keeping little ones grounded in this high tech, materialistic world." Great word choices tell what children (and everyone) value most. Excellent for grandparents' (and parents') snuggle time . . ."

Sarah Klaiber was recently featured on The Authors Show. She is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at sarahklaibertreasures@gmail.com. 'Treasures' is available at online retail book outlets. More information, including her blog, is available at her website at http://www.treasuresaroundus.com.

About Sarah Klaiber:

Writing was Sarah’s first love. Her creations started at a very young age with poetry and short stories. As time went on, her passion evolved into songwriting. Sarah enjoyed composing so much that she made plans to pursue it as a career after high school. She was offered a recording contract, but there was a better path in her future.

Creativity took a back seat as Sarah worked towards being the best wife and mother she could be. The music scene made a brief re appearance, but the experience was disappointing to say the least. After that, the pen stood still for quite some time.

From a very young age, Sarah also fought the silent battle of depression. It worsened in time and began to rob her and her family of the happy memories they deserved. Finally, she had enough. That was the day she began her journey to fight instead of give in. The result has been better days.

Sarah taught herself that, among other changes, taking time to find appreciation provides a better outlook and bring light to some darkness. The concept began with “Treasures,” the resurrection of her passion for writing. Today, she is proud to be the voice of someone who gets it, someone who still struggles but not ashamed to admit imperfections while trying to help others.

Mike Person, Author Of 'With Malice Toward One', Marks The 150th Anniversary Of Abraham Lincoln's Assassination

Person's new educational book, 'With Malice Toward One', combines exciting storytelling, sequential graphics and little known facts to create a book about Lincoln's assassination that kids find both informative and engaging

April 14, 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre in Washington DC. Washington is gearing up for the event with ceremonies, theatrical performances, candlelight vigils, tours and a host of other events.

To mark the anniversary, Mike Person will be allowing free access to 'With Malice Toward One' from  April 9th (the date Lee surrendered to Grant) and April 26th (the date John Wilkes Booth was killed). This coincides with the timeline present in 'With Malice Toward One'. The book will be accessible at his website.

'With Malice Toward One, is a highly visual story about the Lincoln assassination. The book combines compelling text in a graphic novel format that kids love. Each page of text is recreated in graphic form on the opposite page. This style of storytelling appeals to a wider age group than might otherwise be the case. The engaging and highly descriptive text, reinforced by powerful graphics, creates a learning experience that can increase engagement for both type of readers - those who love to read and also kids who prefer the graphic novel format.

Person takes everything one step beyond the presentation of well known facts. Little known events regarding what went on behind the scenes of the Lincoln assassination are integrated into the storyline in a manner that rivals even the best mystery thrillers. The end result is an irresistible work that is a history book, a graphic novel and a mystery novel combined. The book holds strong appeal for children, parents and educators. The appeal of the book lies in the fact that it makes history come alive for kids in a way that few other works can achieve.

"My goal with this novel," Person stated, "was to make learning an exciting and memorable experience for children.  I wanted them to see, and understand this amazing moment in American History.  I felt that the best way to gain a child's interest is by helping place a picture in his or her mind.  Children are visual.  I believe children learn much more when they can see what the are reading."

The book has received rave reviews. Roger Norton, Founder of the Abraham Lincoln Research site and the Lincoln Discussion Symposium stated, “I wish Mike Person’s 'With Malice Toward One' had been  available before I retired as a teacher.  I certainly would have used it in my  classroom.  Mike’s book provides the perfect way for students to learn about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.  Not only is it richly illustrated, it also  includes a glossary and suggestions for further reading.  The book is the ideal  textbook because students of all ability levels can benefit from it; as the  pages are turned there is explanatory text on the left hand side and comic book  illustrations (with text) on the right hand side.  For students wanting to learn  about the Lincoln assassination there is simply nothing available that even  comes remotely close to Mike’s book in terms of quality and educational value.  Congratulations to Mike Person for producing an invaluable addition to Lincoln assassination lore.”

'With Malice Toward One' will be accessible at Person's website from April 9 through April 26, 2015. Mike Person is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at mperson96@gmail. 'With Malice Toward One' is available at Amazon and other online book retailers. More information is available at his website at http://www.cranstonhouse.weebly.com.

Award Winning Children's Book Author Diane Mae Robinson To Release 'Sir Princess Petra's Talent', Second In The Pen Pieyu Adventures Series

Robinson received the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artists Award for Children's Book Author and took 2nd Place in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards for the first book in the series 'Sir Princess Petra'

Award winning Canadian author Diane Robinson has announced the forthcoming release of ‘Sir Princess Petra's Talent’, the second book in ‘The Pen Pieyu Adventures’ series.

Robinson was honored with two major awards for the first work in the children’s book series, ‘Sir Princess Petra’. She was awarded the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artists Award for Children’s Book Author and took 2nd place in the Purple Dragonfly Book awards for Children’s Chapter Book. ‘Sir Princess Petra’ features surprising plot twists and turns, brilliant flashes of humor, zany characters and is rooted in timeless values that shine through the charismatic main character. It is written in the tradition of C. S. Lewis and is reminiscent of ‘Shrek’. Reviewers have labeled the award winning book a ‘fantasy adventure that is sure to become a timeless classic.’

In the story line of the first book, Princess Petra’s unusual birthday request to become a royal knight sends the royal court into a frenzy. Armed with a cake knife and a suit of the best royal pots and pans, Petra chooses to hush the howling dragon, Snarls, in the Forest of Doom and win her real armour. In ‘Sir Princess Petra's Talent’, the king and queen want Petra to give up the silly knight nonsense and act like a princess. But when the king writes a new rule in the royal rulebook that requires her to attend Talent School and acquire a princess talent certificate or suffer the spell of the royal magician, Petra, reluctantly, agrees to go. But who could have guessed what Sir Princess Petra’s talent would be?

Kristin Barnes, Author Of Children's Book 'Haysoos The Honu', Now Appearing On The Children’s Authors Show

Haysoos is a Hawaiian sea turtle. The story, written in the tradition of ‘The Dot’ by Peter Reynolds, teaches children age 4 through 8 the power of self-acceptance and how to appreciate differences

Maryland children’s book author Kristin Barnes is now appearing on The Children’s Authors Show radio. In her interview she discusses her latest release, ‘Haysoos the Honu’. Haysoos the Honu is a Hawaiian sea turtle. He loves the company of other sea creatures, but he feels different from the fish, eels, and manta rays. His bulky shell slows him down, and his lungs mean he has to interrupt playtime to surface for air. Haysoos believes that being different is a bad thing, until he meets a special friend who shows him just how special it is to be different.

“I wrote this children’s book,” Barnes stated, “to share a message of self-acceptance to both children and adults with a character pulled from my own life to whom all age groups can relate.  Sea turtles are amazing creatures to begin with; Haysoos' personality mixes well with his physical attributes to effectively communicate the idea that we are perfect the way we are made - it's our perspective that changes everything and makes life the joyful experience it should be.”

Kristin Barnes understands what it means to be different. She made history as the first female aircrew to report to the F14 community in 1993 and spent the rest of her flying career as the sole female aviator in her squadrons. Kristin experienced first-hand the challenges of fitting into a male-dominated culture.  Shared with children through an age-appropriate story, Haysoos is a simple yet compelling demonstration of Kristin’s real-life experiences.

"Children will benefit from reading Haysoos' story,” Barnes continued, “by seeing his perspective on life transform throughout the story.  Through his example, they too can see that their talents, gifts and abilities are truly unique and worthy of appreciation. We are each special in our own way when we embrace those characteristics that define as well as differentiate us."

Kristin Barnes’ interview is now running at The Children’s Authors Show. Kristen is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at haysoos_honu@yahoo.com. ‘Haysoos The Honu’ is available at Amazon, Books-A-Million and Barnes and Noble. More information is available at Barnes’ website at http://www.HaysoosTheHonu.com.

About Kristin Barnes:

A native of Vermilion, Ohio Kristin Barnes is a Commander in the U.S. Navy serving as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.  She began her military career with a commission from the Naval Academy in 1992 and spent the next 16 years training, flying and deploying to combat zones as an F-14 Tomcat aircrew.  She made history as the first female aircrew to report to the F14 community in 1993 and spent the rest of her flying career as the sole female aviator in her squadrons.

Kristin is a decorated combat veteran with flights logged over Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.  In 2006 she was assigned to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for three years, which is the impetus for 'Haysoos, the Honu'. While on assignment to the Middle East in 2009, the seed of a story featuring Haysoos the sea turtle that began in Hawaii grew into a reality.  The story was self-published by Mascot Books of Herndon, VA in March of 2012.

Kristin will retire from active service in 2015 with the hopes of sharing more adventures of Haysoos in the years to come.  She lives in Arnold, MD with her dog, The Big Lebowski.

The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artists Award is open to artists from every discipline and every possible genre within it. The private ceremony was held at the Government House on June 14, 2012. His Honour Col. (Ret’d) the Honourable Donald S. Ethell bestowed the award on the recipients. As regards the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards, Linda Radke, President of Five Star Publications recently stated, “Winning any place in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards is a huge honor because in order to maintain the integrity of the contest, a minimum score is required before a 1st or 2nd Place or Honorable Mention will be awarded – even if it is the only entry in a category,. Competition is steep, too, because there is no publication date limit as long as the book is still in print.”

Zsale, Author Of ‘Many Faces Of Family’, Named As One Of ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’

Zsale was picked from a field of hundreds of authors who appeared on The Authors Show. Her book, entitled ‘Many Faces Of Family’, offers a lighthearted story discussing changes in home life

Zsale, author of ‘Many Faces Of Family’, has been named one of ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’. Her honors came as a result of her appearance on The Authors Show. Zsale was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process. ‘Many Faces Of Family’ offers a lighthearted story discussing changes in home life for children age 2 to 8.

“I am pleased,” stated Zsale, “to be included in ‘50 Great Writers’ because the transitional family challenge is not going away any time soon and such needs to be addressed in a healthy not derogatory manner. Also the book's promotions have been on a very limited budget. With such exposure, I hope that a few more families will learn that ‘this storm also shall pass’ and that families are broader than they may first appear.”

’Many Faces of Family’ is a multi-lingual (English, Spanish & French) book addressing an international need for a light-hearted story discussing changes in home life. The book is written for children from 2 - 8 years old. It explains that there are many faces of family and that Mommy and Daddy will always love them and be Mother and Father even if not living under the same roof. The book is open ended, so that it might appeal to a wide variety of contemporary families and situations (separated, divorced, incarcerated, absent, etc.).

A recent Amazon review stated, “This book offers a unique perspective on the emotional challenges faced by kids from differing backgrounds or split parenting situations. If you're a single parent or have a non-traditional family situation, you really need to read this book with your kids. Its great.”

Zsale is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at zsalerh@gmail.com. More information is available at her website. ‘Many Faces Of Family’ is available at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and at her website.
