Teachers, Librarians And Moms Now Have Access To Science Books That Are Fun, Easy To Read And Highly Entertaining

Jennifer Swanson, award-winning author of the Penny and Rio early chapter book series, has expanded her offerings to include science books that children will adore. In a recent review, Booklist noted that ‘ . . . the main event is Swanson’s gift for making complicated subjects crystalline’.

Many children believe that science is boring. It is a real challenge for teachers, librarians and moms to make the subject interesting enough to strongly appeal to young people. Nonetheless, Jennifer Swanson has managed to accomplish this. In a recent review of one of her books, Booklist stated ‘this is a model of how to make science appeal to young readers.’

"With these books," stated Ms. Swanson, "I am thrilled to be able to combine my two favorite things: writing and science. My goal is to make science come alive for kids. When science is exciting, kids are interested and engaged. If my books can inspire even one child to learn more about the world we live in or ask questions about why things happen, then I have achieved a great deal."

Swanson’s new nonfiction books include:

Uninvited Guests: Invisible Creatures Lurking in Your Home

Body Bugs: Invisible Creatures Lurking Inside You

Both by Capstone Press (August 2011)

And the following published by The Child’s World (September 2011)
