Book Marketing Announcements: The Authors Show® Lineup For The Week Of August 18, 2025
Are You Preparing And Anticipating The Changes In Global Commerce Asks Top Motivational Speaker And Bestselling Author Rocky Romanella
Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.
Today, technological advancements and shifting consumer behaviors have made it possible for customers to browse and purchase products from anywhere at any time. Though this is not necessarily new, this landscape can change at lightning speed. It is vitally important that organizations keep their eyes on the puck, while simultaneously making correct projections about where that puck is going to be, both short-term and long-term.
As a top keynote speaker, Rocky Romanella spends a good deal of time speaking to groups of people, large and small, most of whom hope to take away actionable ideas regarding how to stay abreast of this ever-changing landscape. Romanella addressed some of the issues involved in a recent newsletter titled, "A Whole New World: Optimizing It Through E-Commerce." In that piece he wrote in part:
We have all been touched by the e-commerce wave, whether as a consumer or a business supplying goods and services. It is clear the internet allows small companies to look and feel like big companies, and large companies to feel like a small company with the way they portray their businesses on the web. This also provides you with an opportunity to support your marketing strategy and position your brand to support your organization’s strategy and mission, and build your brand identity around the world.
A few thought-provoking questions to start the critical analysis: Do you and your organization possess the leadership competencies of Strategic Perspective & Vision, developing a compelling vision and strategy for the organization and its units? Do you and your team understand both the short-term and long-term view of both the organization's and the overall industry's strengths, challenges, and opportunities?
In this newsletter, let’s discuss the following questions as you begin the global strategic journey:
Is e-commerce something for you to consider for your business?
What are some of the things you will need to consider?
The World Wide Web is global—are you?
Are you preparing for today and tomorrow’s new normal?
If we bring back manufacturing and markets open to countries worldwide that we have little to no business in, are you prepared to manage these needs?
Are you preparing to support the growth of the manufacturing boom in the U.S.?
How do your customers view you today?
Are you a preferred vendor, solutions provider, or a trusted advisor?
Let’s start from a historical perspective as a level set and move from there.
Significant Events Have Shaped the Future of Companies, Markets, and People
For example, in retail, the first disruption arrived in the form of department stores. Retailing was originally dominated by local merchants who provided value to their customers by keeping large inventories, extending credit, and offering personalized advice. The industry changed dramatically in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as a result of the first retail disruption: the launch of department stores like Marshall Field and R.H. Macy, to name a few.
In manufacturing, for the first time, Henry Ford’s entire Highland Park, Michigan automobile factory was run on a continuously moving assembly line when the chassis—the automobile’s frame—was assembled using the revolutionary industrial technique. A motor and rope pulled the chassis past workers and parts on the factory floor, cutting the hours required to complete one “Model T” from 12-1/2 hours to six. Within a year, further assembly line improvements reduced the time required to 93 minutes. The staggering increase in productivity affected by Ford’s use of the moving assembly line allowed him to drastically reduce the cost of the Model T, thereby accomplishing his dream of making the car affordable to ordinary consumers.
Thirty years ago, listeners tuning into Morning Edition heard about a futuristic idea that could profoundly change their lives.
"Imagine being able to communicate at will with 10 million people all over the world," NPR's Neal Conan said. "Imagine having direct access to catalogs of hundreds of libraries as well as the most up-to-date news, business, and weather reports. Imagine being able to get medical advice or gardening advice immediately from any number of experts.
"This is not a dream," he continued. "It's internet."
Events Shape Companies, and Without Change, Your Current Company’s History and Success Do Not Guarantee Future Success
A key lesson for leaders is that a company’s current success does not guarantee future success.
There are many great American brands that have stood the test of time.
The key to longevity is:
a. Anticipating where the market is going,
b. Making tough decisions,
c. Effectively communicating when changes need to be made.
Leaders Anticipate
One of the key lessons I like to share with you is this… leaders anticipate. Leaders go to where the puck is going, not to where the puck has been.

Bestselling Author Jody Sharpe Announces National Level NFPW Award For The Dog Who Came For Christmas, Encourages Kindness Versus Bullying
Sharpe was a 1st Place Winner of the 2023 National Association of Press Women's Communications Contest Award for Fiction For Adult Readers - Novellas, and the 2024 National Association of Press Womens's Communications Contest For Fiction - Novellas.
Jody Sharpe has announced a new National level award from the National Federation Of Press Women for her latest book, 'The Dog Who Came For Christmas'. In this book, meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force Knight, proves to be a force to be reckoned with once more. While Gayle was sleeping, an angel sent her a vision of a future event. With her intuition, Gayle wonders, will she really meet the dog in her dream and save another one? With the help of her intuitive husband, Alex Knight, and friends, Gayle sets on a course to rescue many more. But with surprising twists and turns of intrigue, both Gayle and Alex find there are always angels at the helm as they ride on their coattails.
Most of Sharpe's book feature angels and a strong anti-bullying message. In a recent article posted on her site titled 'Kindness vs Bully', she wrote in part:
"You know who the bully hurts? Our children, the most vulnerable in our society. Many lives of children are suffering because of the bullying in the schoolyards, the bullies in the neighborhood and as they see it play out in the media. Recently, I purchased a t-shirt that is for kids and adults. It says Everyone Is Welcome Here.
In my seven Mystic Bay Series of novellas, and memoir, Special Needs Children The Angels on My Shoulder, bullying is always one of the main themes. Why?Because bullying has to be taken to task in our society. Teaching about bullying begins at home and in school. Teaching kindness and how to be kind is our great opportunity to change the world.
Every one of us may have been bullied in our young lives or as adults and there is such a need to teach the children how to overcome being bullied and how bullying hurts. We can teach kids to walk away, tell parents or adults like their teacher, bus driver or family member if somebody has bullied them. Talk to your kids about bullying.
An important lesson for our kids is to explain to them how kindness helps us grow into loving adults and how helping others helps ourselves grow up to be kind. Being kind can spread love around the world. It is more powerful than hate.
I’ve written books that have won awards, I think mainly because of the themes of love, forgiveness, redemption and thwarting bullies. In my next Mystic Bay novella due to be released in 2026, bullying will once more be a theme. I love to write and the angels inspire me to realize my potential to get themes of love and hope out into the world. It is my belief that any one can change if they want to."
The full text of the piece can be found at her website at https://jodysharpe.com/blog.
Other books by Jody Sharpe include:
To Catch an Angel - Jody is also the author of 'To Catch an Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch an Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.
Town Of Angels - it's angel vs. Bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well-kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children, all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as brute, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give in to the bully's efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angel sightings, angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer, and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match through the soft voices and intuitive minds of his neighbors.
Town Of Angels Christmas - The bully never wins. A secret lies in Mystic Bay California. Angels live as humans there. Angel Ken, a storeowner, fears the secret will be revealed when vet, Jordana Hart, a woman with special healing abilities moves to town.
Years before Angel Ken materialized as an old man, changing the course of her life. Will Jordana recognize Angel Ken as the man from her past as they work together on a rescue mission to bring twenty-two horses to Mystic Bay before Christmas, will they see what lies before them, a Christmas story only the angels could write.
Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder is a memoir based on her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs. The book placed second in the National Federation Of Press Women's At-Large Communication contest. The book is as entertaining as it is illuminating. It's a love story about the special students and others who over the years graced her life with just that, their grace.
With hearts of angels and challenges to face, the children took Sharpe along their journeys and inspired her own life's journey of self-discovery. When sorrow came, their kindness helped her through. The synchronicity of events from high school to retirement changed her life for the better, turning her face toward heaven.
Midwest Book Review stated, "Sharpe's ability to see the good in circumstances and people identifies the 'special' in 'special needs' as she delineates her journey through the education system and those teaching and social encounters which changed her perspective and life."
"Teachers (especially those working with special needs kids) will find this spiritual and social reflection easily accessible. It's presented in vignettes which offer small, digestible bites of insight into a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."
Special Needs Children followed her recently released children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear, and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies. The book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.
One of her latest books, Summer Of Angels, is a mystery novel. Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force proves a force to be reckoned with as she moves back to her beloved Mystic Bay, California. While sleeping, an angel sent her a vision in a dream of a future event. Gayle realizes she must use her intuition to save an old man from drowning. But who is this old man?
With the help of intuitive attorney, Alex Knight, she finds they are caught in the middle of a future crime. But can Gayle and Alex solve the case and save the old man before it’s too late? With surprising twists and turns of intrigue and love, Gayle and Alex find there are angels at the helm as they help prove the bully never wins.
The Dog Who Came For Christmas: Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force Knight, proves to be a force to be reckoned with once more.
In addition, on the "Tuesdays With The Angels" section of her site, Sharpe presents stories of real-life encounters with angels. The stories are available at Sharpe's website at http://www.jodysharpe.com.
Sharpe hopes to create a collection of angel stories that involve sightings of angels, interaction with angels, miraculous angel encounters, and other types of accounts or stories. Everyone is welcome to submit angel stories. All submissions will be considered, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Stories may be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd.
Sharpe's YouTube channel brings all of this together, offering segments on all of these topics. One topic of special interest is bullying, specifically as it relates to special needs children.
In addition to the National Federation of Press Women’s award, Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual "50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading" Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.
Jody also announced recently that two new screen treatments of her books are now available: The Angel's Daughter and Town Of Angels Christmas.
Jody Sharpe is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at sharpejody76@gmail.com. Angel stories can be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd. All of her books are available at online book retailers. Bestselling Author Richard McMaster's Thriller Novel, The Attic, Will Be Available At No Charge In Ebook Form August 19 And 20, 2025
McMaster creates a rich tapestry of human emotion and intrigue in a masterfully crafted novel for fans of character-driven psychological thrillers.
Bestselling author Richard McMaster has announced that the ebook version of his novel, ‘The Attic’, will be available at no charge August 19 through August 19, 2024, at Amazon. The Attic was ranked #1 in Contemporary Fiction and #6 in Psychological Thriller.
A principal character in 'The Attic', Sybie, was fashioned after a real high school classmate of the author who suffered from a rare genetic disorder. Some students called her Tic Toc because of the way she walked with her brace. Years later they meet again, and she is a changed woman. They marry, but tragedy strikes before they can even enjoy a honeymoon. When Byron faces assault charges and a lawsuit, he flees to Chicago to assume a fake identity and new image. He takes a low-level computer support job with an international investment banking company where he discovers the CEO has embezzled over 26 million dollars.
Fans of thriller novels love the excitement and suspense that can keep them on the edge of their seats. This type of novel requires readers to pay close attention to details and piece together clues, adding to the anxiety and tension, making them memorable experiences. If these elements are combined with well-developed characters with complex motivations and backstories, all the better. In 'The Attic,' bestselling author Richard McMaster brings all of these together to create a psychological thriller that fans will find irresistible.
When Byron Kelly becomes a whistleblower on the run from the FBI, he hides in the attic of a dying old man, Henry Steel. Byron cares for the old man and learns he is estranged from his daughter over the death of her mother, his wife, because of family secrets he has kept from her.
'The Attic' will be available at no charge in ebook form August 19 and 20 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU?.
One reviewer said, "You wrote a novel about a man with a past so messy, he literally hides in a stranger’s attic while trying to do the right thing. It’s emotional. Unconventional. Thoughtful. There’s rare disease rep, ethical drama, and a wildly underrated whistleblower story wrapped in quiet literary suspense."
In a story about Richard McMaster, printed by The Hudson Weekly, Dennis Keller said, "There have been multiple authors that have made a significant contribution to the world of literacy. In the current era, we have come across several first-time authors with the gift of writing. Richard McMaster is an accomplished author whose works have been praised for their depth, complexity, and emotional resonance."
Keller continued with "Richard McMaster never falls into the trap of presenting his characters as simplistic archetypes or caricatures, instead allowing them to emerge as fully-formed individuals with their unique voices and perspectives.
"In addition to his skillful characterization, he is also a master of plot and pacing. The structure of his novels keep readers engaged and invested in the story while also allowing for moments of quiet reflection and contemplation. The author’s writing is often described as 'page-turning' or 'gripping,' but it is also imbued with a sense of thoughtfulness and depth that elevates his work beyond mere genre fiction."
Other books by Richard McMaster include his bestselling historical fiction novel, 'Aaron's War', which details the struggles of a Jewish soldier's experience in WWII. It explores coming-of-age, antisemitism, forbidden marriage, PTSD, and substance abuse, resulting in a powerful story that takes the reader's breath away with its dramatic tale of love, bravery, and sacrifice.
Aaron Vanko, an innocent Iowa farm boy, faces the ultimate test that countless veterans have grappled with throughout history: the harrowing decision to take another's life in the name of duty.
But just as Aaron prepares to embark on this mission, a stunning revelation threatens to upend his entire world: he learns of his Jewish heritage, a discovery that shatters his sense of identity and his relationship with the love of his life.
Despite his fears, Aaron moves ahead, fueled by an unwavering sense of duty and patriotism. But now, he must wage war on two fronts - battling the enemy outside who seek to eradicate the Jewish race, and the inner with ethical dilemma that rages within his own soul.
Aaron is taken on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery, courage, and sacrifice, as he confronts the darkest corners of human nature and emerges forever changed.
Readers and reviewers have praised 'Aaron's War'. USA Today bestselling author Holly Roberts called Aarons War, "A coming of age story that grips your soul and takes you on a thought-provoking journey." Tom Porter, author of All I Need To Know About Business I Learned From A Duck stated, "An engaging, informative and thought-provoking tale of survival, love and faith. Make room for Richard McMaster on your list of up-and-coming authors." Lynn M. Safris said, “The descriptions and details given throughout this author's writing draw the reader into each page, making Aaron's journey feel like their own. I believe this book would appeal to a wide audience of readers. I truly enjoyed reading Aaron's War and I highly recommend this book."
Another of his books, 'Voyage Of Life,' is an exploration of overcoming obstacles that leaves readers deeply moved and inspired. It is a must-read for anyone seeking an inspirational journey through the lens of the "Baby Boomer" generation. A captivating love story, 'Voyage Of Life' captures the essence of the coming-of-age 60's with a twist, as the story is told as Thomas Cole’s Voyage of Life paintings are portrayed by the women woman Sean Buchanan loves; childhood, youth, manhood, and old age. The paintings are a metaphor for Sean’s life—the verdant landscape and calm waters of childhood turn turbulent in youth, and then early in manhood, the rocky shores of manhood open to a promising sky of old age when he believes that his one true love left him for another man.
The breathtaking story also unfolds mysteries around losing a father, mother, wife, son, and friends and Sean’s perseverance in life and, in the end, reuniting with his first love.
McMaster considers Voyage Of Life to be one of his signature works. Readers and reviewers agree.
One reader’s review stated, “While reading, you will smile, you will hesitate thinking, oh no, and you will cry, but there is a surprise toward the end. This is one of the best romantic books I have read.”
He is also the author of 'A Love Divided By Time', described as "one part The Notebook, one part suspenseful psychopath story, and one part Somewhere in Time." In that book, Forrest and Allie believed they found love in a previous life and being born again was a game of hide-and-seek to find each other in plain sight, seeking their better halves, united and whole. When tragedy strikes, Forrest makes a pact to find her killer, raise their daughter and find peace by joining her in the ever after.
Richard McMaster is available for media interviews and can be reached at Lifevoyages@gmail.com. More information is available at his website at https://richard-mcmaster.com/. All of his books are available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU?.

Bestselling Author Eric Madeen Announces No Charge Download Of Ebook Version Of Massage World, Available at Amazon August 19 And August 20, 2025
Madeen is a recently retired professor of modern literature at Tokyo City University and an adjunct professor at Keio University. He writes cross-genre and has penned a number of Amazon bestsellers.
Bestselling author Eric Madeen has announced his latest novel, 'Massage World', will be available at no charge in ebook form at no charge August 19 and 20 at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?.
Whose world is it anyway?
'Massage World' is a multicultural thriller that dives deep into both sides of the massage industry, and throughout you'll marvel at the unravelling of both sides. From the get-go you'll be struck with the force of that ambiguity, each side repelling each other like magnets thus making for a read with conflict galore, exceeding reader expectation and thus creating narrative drive ..., a kind of drive that's hell on wheels throughout and at times laugh out loud hilarious.
More specifically, as the global demand for massage therapy skyrockets, from luxurious spas to discreet outcalls, one ambitious therapist, Ingrid Swanson, dares to open Massage World, a grand health spa, defying the local underworld kingpin.
Enter Jack Cobb, a ruthless massage parlor lord determined to seize control of Ingrid's business through a series of illicit "massage wars," aided by a crooked undercover vice cop soliciting "extras." The chaos escalates as a media frenzy erupts following a dramatic police raid, sparking neighborhood protests and the crackle of soooo much more.
A fearless female biker gang figures in the ending, riding their rice rocket Yamahas and Hondas up the grandiose stairs of Massage World then roaring up another floor ... then the hellacious chase and ... and ...
HOW you'll be smitten with this Dionysian nightmare, clashing as it does with those on both sides of the tracks, be they crystally (holistic) or oily in a read you'll find zesty and informative as in what goes down or doesn't in the sliding signifier of Massage World, draped ... or the heck with the drape.
'Massage World' has received rave reviews from readers:
“It combines gritty realism, lurid sensationalism, and darker-than-black comedy to conjure up a phantasmagoric vision of a world in pain … So earthquaking powerful and fresh it is, I've never read anything quite like it, not even close.” — Larry McCaffery, author notably of Some Other Frequency: Interviews with Innovative American Authors and former Professor of English and Comparative Literature at SDSU.
“It’s a sizzler of a thriller bursting with eccentric energy.” — William Luvaas, winner of a Huffington Post Book of the Year award.
“Very cinematic with a canny and calculated construction. A really high-octane potboiler. Motion and emotion. Exotica and erotica from SoCal to Japan and back. Conflict galore. Kinkiness with and without aromatic oils. Who could ask for more?” — Harold Jaffe, Professor Emeritus of Creative Writing and Literature at San Diego State University and former Editor of Fiction International.
The ebook version of ‘Massage World’ will be available August 19 and 20 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?
Other books:
Eric Madeen's bestselling book, ‘Asian Trail Mix: True Tales from Borneo to Japan,’ scales down the sprawl of Asia by focusing on the unique and revelatory in gemmy prose. See up close and personal the razzmatazz of novice monks at play in northern Laos, the bonding with hustling pedicab drivers in Ho Chi Minh City, the rainforests blazed on gutsy treks across Borneo and Thailand's Elephant Island and novel things Japanese. Served up nice and spicy, Asian Trail Mix is slathered across 12 rocking-it essays plus a tall tale at its glorious ending, making for a baker's dozen of sumptuousness.
In a review for 'Asian Trail Mix', one reader said, "The writing is lush and emotive. It contains images and turns of phrase that will stay with you." Another said, "'Mr. Madeen has a knack for taking one into the depths of a country and introducing the reader to fascinating customs and interesting characters. Five stars!"
Another stated, "The author focuses on subjects of local interest at each of the intervening destinations, or vignettes. An American based in Japan, he has a writer’s eye for details and is quite adept at capturing the local sights, sounds, weather, atmosphere, and such of each place as well as conveying his personal impressions as an experienced traveler with a literary background and sensibility, to the reader."
'Water Drumming In The Soul' - a fiery tale set in steamy equatorial Africa, Peace Corps volunteer David Fields, is on mission: to build a medical dispensary in a village where spells are cast on enemies and fear of a geek-shaman reigns. David seldom has his bearings – cultural or geographical – and must fight a cocktail of tropical maladies as well as social taboos as he throws himself into work. Until... he meets Assam. Captivated by her water drumming, her playing the stream as a drum, David is drawn to her early on and becomes the hunter captured by the game. And what a rollicking game of love it is - with a tension or excitement between them that never dissipates, … until the haunting end.
‘Tokyo-ing!’ - This is an apt word for this trio of tales chiming with anyone even slightly interested in Asia’s most dynamic metropolis and its glazing of layers – be they cultural or taking-wing exuberant. Madeen does deep dives in three fascinating directions and voices, including the persona in first-person female. Then doesn’t let readers come up for air because they don’t want to -- until the delicious end.
‘Tennis Clubbed, Snubbed and Rubbity-Dub Dubbed’ - In historically rich Yokohama, where Captain Perry and his Black Ships cracked open Japan, the wicked shiver of the tennis snub in the postmodern present pits David Adams against K: a puffed-up xenophobic tyrant who rules over the courts of a club that has as its anthem, ironically, the promotion of international friendship.

Women's Rights In Danger Of Being Lost: Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories By Bestselling Author Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein Available At No Charge In Ebook Form
In the tradition of authors like Judy Blume, Dr. Holstein pushes the envelope in covering the challenges girls really face, without sugar coating it or downplaying the feelings or passions young girls experience, regarding things that are important to them at this stage of their development.
Are we on the verge of seeing women's hard-won rights begin to unravel? In today’s charged political atmosphere, many fear that the progress women have made since the 1950s is once again under threat. The long, arduous fight for equality—ignited by the Boomer generation—may be entering a new and uncertain chapter.
This concern lies at the heart of Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, the latest novel by bestselling author Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein. In a powerful blend of fiction and historical reflection, Holstein revisits the era where it all began. The ebook version will be available at no charge at Amazon August 7 and August 8 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Barbara-Becker-Holstein/author/B001JXEZ8U?.
From 1960 to the present day, the role of women in society has undergone a dramatic transformation. In the early 60s, women were often confined to domestic spaces, their aspirations curtailed by rigid societal norms. But change was on the horizon.
The feminist movements of the 1960s and 70s challenged the status quo, opening doors that had long been closed. Women began to assert themselves in every sphere—education, the workforce, and eventually, the halls of power. By the 21st century, they had not only shattered glass ceilings but redefined them, ascending to leadership roles once deemed unattainable.
The fight is far from over—and stories like Holstein’s serve as powerful reminders of how far we’ve come, and how much remains unfinished.
In Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, Holstein turns back the clock to the 1960s, introducing readers to three young college women at a pivotal moment in both their personal lives and the history of women’s rights. Through their experiences—marked by sexual awakening, identity struggles, and the pursuit of purpose—Holstein captures the emotional and psychological terrain that defined a generation.
What do their stories reveal? That while the cultural landscape may evolve, the core desires for autonomy, love, and self-expression remain timeless. Their journeys mirror the collective experiences of women across decades, making this novel not only deeply moving but profoundly resonant.
Dr. Holstein wraps Positive Psychology concepts in forms of media that people find engaging, relatable and inspiring. These include:
Four bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)
Four self-esteem workbooks for girls 8 and up
Award-winning films and coming of age selfie films
Podcasts
Dedicated websites
Stage plays
A library of articles
Ted-style talks
As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. Her last book, ‘Conflict and a Bit of Magic’, helps kids build self-esteem though reading the journal of a girl, identifying with the girl, and understanding they have more courage and resiliency than they thought they had. The book is based on the experiences of the already famous “girl” from 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen', and achieved bestseller status in the multi-generational families category.
Dr. Holstein’s latest workbook for kids, ‘Secrets’ achieved bestseller status in the ‘Teen & Young Adult Nonfiction on Depression’ category.
Dr. Holstein's cutting-edge presentations, most recently based on the Covid-19 pandemic issues, can be found on both YouTube, Vimeo and on the Roku channel and Amazon Fire TV, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.
Dr. Holstein recently created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people, including the pandemic.
The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfie videos or films around important subjects using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in several ways, some issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Donald Trump Is A Modern Day Judas Iscariot – Who Was A Traitor, Says Elizabeth Graham, Author Of Bestselling Ebook, From Democracy To Democrazy
Kirkus Professional Book Reviewers said: "Graham's new book is an intriguing and informative ‘must read’ from a woman who is probably the best-informed American on the terrifying realities concerning Vladimir Putin's motivations and his control over Trump. It is a warning to all Americans."
Elizabeth Graham believes Donald Trump is a modern-day Judas Iscariot. who was a traitor. She says we need only look at the facts. The eBook version will be available at no charge August 5, 2025 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Elizabeth-Graham/author/B0CMY189NT?.
Graham had a Top-Secret Security Clearance while a senior in high school, and immediately upon graduation began working undercover with the CIA. She later joined the SAIC's Foreign Systems Research Center (FSRC) for 12 years. Eight of these years were spent studying Russia and Russian, and she managed the largest Russian-language military, technical and intelligence data base/library in the U.S. She began to travel to the Soviet Union and then became one of the very few Americans to move to the USSR. She lived under Communism in the Soviet Union, then Russia, and Central Asia long enough to become bi-cultural - she became Russian. Her first-hand knowledge and understanding of life in a communist or dictatorship country is shared with Americans in her book and in her Substack by the same name (egraham.substack.com). In a recent Substack post she wrote in part:
The United States is at the crossroads for many reasons, but from where I sit and the knowledge gained from twenty years living and working in Russia - we are in a tragic stage of devaluation.
Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill – Trumponomics 2.0 - will erode the very foundations of America’s prosperity. This domestic policy bill will impact the lives of every single American – the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. It needs to be discussed by every single American citizen and those around the world who are witnessing the fleecing of America’s democracy.
CNN Business said that “the top 20% of American earners would increase income by nearly $13,000 per year, which amounts to an average 3% increase for those households. However, for the top 0.1% of American earners, the average annual income gain would amount to more than $290,000.” (Ibid) CNN also stated that “many people at the lowest end of the income ladder would be worse off because the package would enact historic cuts to the nation’s safety net programs, particularly Medicaid and food stamps.” (Ibid) “All told, the bill could result in more than 10 million more Americans being uninsured by 2034” (Ibid) There will be federal cuts to rural hospitals, which will impact the lives of those living outside of major cities – these are the farmers that feed America. As more farmers die due to untreatable illnesses or leave farming– food becomes increasingly sparse, in short supply, and expensive.
“The real-life consequences of these nearly $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts – the largest ever proposed by Congress – will result in irreparable harm to our health care system,” (Ibid) . . . hurting millions upon millions of Americans no matter where you live.
In the end, sources such as The Economist, CNN newscasts, MSNBC, and the NYT all report that this bill will increase U.S. debit by $3.4 to $4 trillion over the next decade – leaving our children and grandchildren to pay the bill but not providing any means for such repayment - just another Trump bankruptcy approach to economics. He has already filed six bankruptcies.
Our country is in a transitional period and is led by a megalomaniac who is destroying every vestige of American democracy. The reason for this devastation and dismantling of our country, our society, and our way of life was openly announced to the world in 1957 when the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev used the phrase “We will bury you” on multiple occasions. Time magazine, one of the leading publications in the 1950’s and still publishing today, printed a cover that shows Khrushchev’s anger toward the U.S. His entire sentence said, “Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!”
It appears that this archival prognostication may be correct and delivered by a man - Donald Trump - who says he is an American and a Republican. He is neither. He is more like a traitor or an apostate - ignoring laws and political principles.
At the time of the Khrushchev speech in 1957, Vladimir Putin was a young boy. He was inspired and motivated by Khrushchev’s tirade that lumped the U.S., Britain, France, and Israel all as bandits - enemies of the Soviet Union. If you follow Putin’s history, he was dedicated to the KGB as a youth, spent 15 years in Germany as a Russian spy, and was devastated when the Berlin Wall fell. He is the person who encouraged thousands upon thousands of former KGB men and women to rejoin the FSB (in 1994) and to restore Russia’s days of glory after Yeltsin’s embarrassing bought with alcohol. While he stood in the background, he was the protagonist – main character – who reconstructed Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union and Yeltsin.
By 1994, Putin headed the newly formed FSB and controlled all Russian banks and financing. Russia gleefully accepted millions of dollars from western sources in the 1990’s – designated to build a Russian democracy – and instead and unbeknown to those international donors, large portions of this money was diverted to rebuild Russia’s cycle of Cheka, KGB, FSB, SVR, and GRU – all variations of intelligence agencies created to oppose and destroy Russia’s enemies – including their number one adversary and nemesis - the United States.
The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. I was already living in Moscow. and by 1993 I was the westerner who informed British Secret Intelligence Service (M16) that many Soviet/Russian nuclear weapons were headed south to the Mid-East. Former Soviet employees were selling off anything of value at junkyard prices. Monies pillaged from the USSR ruins were stashed abroad in hidden bank accounts - many in New York and some in Chicago. Together with money stolen from western governments, and millions of dollars laundered through Trump real estate deals (since the 1980s) - was all earmarked to be used later by Putin to rebuild Russia’s secret service, military, and fulfill his vendetta against the United States. While Americans - and others around the world - slept peacefully thinking the Cold War era was over, Putin ‘s plan – a reincarnation of Khrushchev’s conviction – was taking shape.

About Elizabeth Graham:
Elizabeth Graham lives in a quiet rural city in northern Arizona. She had 4 children and has 3 grandchildren. Her oldest daughter died July 16, 2016 - three months before the U.S. 2016 election and while living/working in Japan. The Tokyo Police ruled her death a homicide by an unknown substance – possibly a poison - which is the signature lethal method used by Russians. There is more about her death in From Democracy to Democrazy.
Elizabeth was indoctrinated at a young age by her father who was a senior manager working undercover with the CIA. Her college days were in Los Angeles with the desire to become a high school teacher. However, she was destined to study Russia, Russian language, and live a life of Top-Secret clearances and undercover work. This led to senior nonprofit management positions and consulting jobs in strategic places like Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia, all the former Soviet - Central Asian countries, and Ukraine, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and many other locations. In this process of living and working abroad, she became bi-cultural - American to Russian and back – only to find that her birth country was in the process of losing its democracy and becoming a dictatorship.

Bestselling Author Earl Vincent de Berge Announces Readers Favorite Five Star Review For Teen And YA Bestseller, Big Ears Jack And Friends
'Big Ears Jack and Friends' is a collection of tall tales featuring extraordinary animals and plants from the Sonoran Desert of Baja California.
Earl Vincent de Berge has announced that 'Big Ears Jack And Friends' has received a 5-star review from Readers Favorite.
Reviewer Essien Asian said, "The author presents educational information in detail while using the dialogue between the characters to stimulate young readers' imaginations. The mix of strategically placed pictures, an engaging narrative style, and thought-provoking subplots regarding these animals ensures that young readers will learn vital lessons in diplomacy and survival from 'Big Ears Jack and Friends' while enjoying a captivating adventure.
Earl’s adventures in Baja deepened his youthful fascination with the Sonoran Desert and its plants and animals, and inspired him to write this collection of charming stories for young readers. The main characters are Big Ears Jack – a huge magician jackrabbit – and other animals, birds and plants of the Sonoran Desert and its coastal regions. “Big Ears Jack and Friends,” received a best-seller rating on Amazon, where it is available in both print and e-book formats.
On Amazon, reviewer Mark Winheld stated, "If you're up for more fantasy fun, you'll be tempted by chapter titles like 'Sheriff Diamondback and the Egg-Thieving Coyotes,' or 'Dianna the Musical Tarantula,' or 'Swindler (a thieving seagull) and Big Umpo the Sea Lion,' or 'Lady Treble Clef and Dust Devils Rescue a Javelina Family,' and many more."
An AWA reviewer said, "One of the book’s greatest strengths is its world-building. De Berge weaves the flora and fauna of Baja California into the narrative, making the setting feel like a character itself. Talking cacti, dust devils playing tag, and wise desert tortoises enrich the stories, placing readers in an enchanting ecosystem where the line between reality and fantasy blurs.
"The themes of community, creativity, and environmental respect run throughout the collection. Young readers will enjoy the magical adventures and witty dialogue, while adults will appreciate the underlying messages about cooperation, individuality, and harmony with nature."
Big Ears Jack and Friends' is available in print and ebook form at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Earl-Vincent-de-Berge/author/B09R6M1G4Y?.
De Berge is also the author of a travel memoir, 'A Finger Of Land On An Old Man's Hand'. In this book, readers are immersed with four explorers in a transformative journey through Baja California in 1962 and 1964, inspired by 'The Forgotten Peninsula' by Joseph Wood Krutch. Baja proved a formidable challenge to men and equipment within its mountainous, sometimes lush, sometimes barren, desert environments; spectacular geology and complex ecologies bracketed by oceans. They enjoyed encounters with wild animals; found bountiful places to hunt and fish; met frontier families of the kindest sort; experienced Pacific storms, and love in a frontier village; met gold prospectors, hermits and one-of-a-kind characters.
One reviewer called the book, ". . . a beautifully written, fabulous tale of an incredibly brave and daring journey." ReaderViews, in their 5-star review said, "A Finger of Land on an Old Man’s Hand by Earl Vincent de Berge is the stark, witty, and profound memoir of four college students testing their limits on the Baja Peninsula in the summer of 1962. One could think of this as the classic literary assignment, 'How I Spent My Summer Vacation.' Only to do so would be to grossly underestimate this narrative."
Earl has published three collections of his poems, “Allegro to Life,” “Swans to Carry Me,” and “Wind in the Elephant Tree,” which touch on nature, human nature, love, desert silence, and life in Guatemala.
All of de Berge's books are available at Amazon and other online book retailers. More information, including an excerpt from the “Baja book” and a pdf of selected photos with insider details revealing Baja in the 1960s, is available on his website, https://www.earldeberge.com.

Assisted Living: What You Need To Know Before You Make A Decision - Will I Be Safe Asks Frances Fuller, Bestselling Author Of Helping Yourself Grow Old
Best-selling author Frances Fuller offers an insider's view of assisted living and a unique outlook on aging, based on her own experience. Her insights are penetrating and deal with issues that many seniors and their families are concerned about.
In the space of just two weeks we have witnessed two major events - the flood in Texas and the fire in an assisted living facility in Massachusetts. This brings us to a very important question for seniors living in or considering moving to an assisted living facility: Will I be safe?
Frances Fuller, author of the bestselling book on aging, 'Helping Yourself Grow Old', addressed this subject in a blog post on her site at https://FrancesFullerAuthor.com. In that post she wrote in part:
Last weeks’ devastating flood in Texas reminded me of something important that I realized we need to talk about here. And then before I could do anything about it. there was the Monday a.m. news that nine people had been killed by fire in an assisted living facility in Massachusetts.
These events force us to think about a reality of old age: our ability to respond to danger is limited. This fact is relevant when we are choosing a place to live.
In a California fire a few years ago a town called Paradise was destroyed and 85 people died. A high percentage of these unfortunate people were elderly.
Books have been written about this tragedy; I have not read the books. I already lived the event, following the news as it unfolded, because at the time, I lived not far from Paradise, in a similar high fire hazard area. I had an emergency bag in the trunk of my car: simple necessities in case of separation from home. My son put the bag there for me, and it had to stay there all year, because when it was packed I was not able to lift it into the trunk.
Following the instructions of my own fire department, I had posted in my little office a list of treasures I would want to grab if leaving in a hurry. These were things of special value to me—practical or emotional. Some of them were my medicines and legal documents, some the original art hanging on my walls. The list gave me comfort that I would not forget something I considered essential.
Gas in the car was also crucial. If a population is fleeing, with cars bumper to bumper on the only road out of the area, the driver who runs out of fuel will create a tragedy for herself and everyone behind her. Consequently, I somewhat obsessively stopped at stations when I needed only two or three gallons to fill my tank.
The Paradise fire started in the early morning. Lots of people were still in bed; their hearing aids were probably on their bedside tables, like mine. By the time old people knew they were in danger, it was too late to escape. The Massachusetts fire happened in the middle of the night.
In any home for the elderly, residents should remember such stories and insist on knowing the plan for protecting them in case of an emergency in their city or in their building. In a particular facility that I happen to know about, the residents recently demanded to know what would happen in case of a fire in their building. The question was certainly reasonable. Every time they got into the elevator they saw a little sign telling them not to use it in case of a fire in the building. But most of them were incapable of using the stairs.
Responsible staff personnel responded to the question. They said they had equipment and an evacuation plan. They would take full responsibility for residents, who should just stay in their rooms. Residents demanded to see the equipment and know the plan.
Truthfully, staying where we are may be the most difficult instruction to follow, because it is counterintuitive.
I notice that for mature adults, as for children, safety has two dimensions: the physical reality that we are safe and the mental confidence that this is true.
In the homes for the elderly that I know about, there are signals in every apartment: a button hanging around a resident’s neck, a cord by the shower or the bed, a smoke alarm in the kitchen. And along with these devices, there should be confidence that if I push the button or pull the cord, help will arrive.
I think it was the flood in Texas that made me think about this. What if we had a hundred elderly people in a building, half of them with walkers or electric wheelchairs, and we got news of a wall of water coming fast?

In 'Helping Yourself Grow Old, Things I Said To Myself When I Was Almost Ninety', Frances provides readers with a closeup view of what it means to age well.
Unable to find a guidebook for aging, Fuller decided that she must figure out for herself how to live wisely through the puzzles and possibilities of aging, and while she learned she wrote. The result is thirty-eight personal essays, most of them resolves, promises she is making to herself and her family. In them she deals with such issues as grief, loneliness, physical limitations, fears, duties, and with the significance of her own life story. Guided always by her Christian faith, she tries to make sense of her own past and to understand her responsibility to younger generations. In the process she shares her daily life, enriched with memories from her fascinating experiences. Her stories and her voice---fresh, honest, irresistible---keep the reader eager for more. Her questions are universal. Her answers create a map through the challenging terrain of old age.
Frances Fuller's book is unique among the many books on aging, because it is personal, while most such books are written from an academic point of view. Most are penned by sociologists, doctors, gerontologists, even the CEO of AARP, and one by a Catholic nun, Joan Chittister. Chittister's book, 'The Gift of Years' is beautifully written, focusing on spiritual values and finding meaning in life. Chittister admits in the preface that she was only 70, which is the front edge of aging, and her book is somewhat abstract.
Atul Gawande’s book, 'On Being Mortal', relates medicine and old age, It enjoys high Amazon rankings, in the category of “the sociology of aging.” It contains a great deal of valuable scientific information and shows understanding of the physical and emotional needs of the elderly.
Frances Fuller’s book, 'Helping Yourself Grow Old, Things I Said To Myself When I Was Almost Ninety', is an up-close and very personal encounter with aging. It is an uncontrived and firsthand look at her own daily experiences: wrestling with physical limitations, grief, loneliness, fears, and the decisions she has made about how to cope with these and keep becoming a better person. She faces regrets and the need to forgive herself and others and is determined to live in a way that blesses her children and grandchildren.
Frances deals with many common, universal but sometimes private issues in an open, conversational tone. Her confessions and decisions invite self-searching and discussion. She tries to make sense of her own past and to understand her responsibility to younger generations. In the process she shares her daily life, enriched with memories from her fascinating experiences. Her stories and her voice — fresh, honest, irresistible — keep the reader eager for more. The end result is a book that helps create a detailed map through the challenging terrain of old age.
The result of this intimate narrative is that readers laugh, cry and identify with her mistakes and problems. Reviewers have called the book, “unique,” “honest,” “witty,” “poignant,” “challenging” and “life-changing.”
For these reasons it is a book unlike any other book on aging you will ever read. The book can serve as a primer on what lies in store for all of us, from someone who is working through many of these issues. While the book is a perfect fit for book clubs, there are many other individuals and groups who could benefit from the information and ideas in the book:
Those approaching retirement
People who are currently retired
Children of aging parents
Those who have lost a spouse
Retirement community discussion groups
Counselors
Educators
Life coaches
Church groups (men and women)
and a host of others. For group discussions, Fuller has made a set of discussion questions available at her website at http://www.FrancesFullerAuthor.com.
Readers have lavished praise on the new book. One Amazon review stated, "I find myself thinking,'I need to read this again and take notes!' It’s full of wisdom, humor, and grace. I also have committed to rereading it annually - it’s that important!" Another said, "There is valuable life experience in this book. Helping Yourself Grow Old is truly is a book for all ages, and one not to be missed." Another stated, "Beautifully written book telling timeless truths, for both the old and the young. Highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to laugh, cry, and learn wisdom from someone who has lived so much life."
Frances' prior work, 'In Borrowed Houses', has taken three industry awards and has achieved Bestseller status. Frances Fuller was the Grand Prize winner in the 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. It received the bronze medal for memoir in the Illumination Book Awards in 2014. Northern California Publishers and Authors annually gives awards for literature produced by residents of the area. In 2015 'In Borrowed Houses' received two prizes: Best Non-fiction and Best Cover.
Critics have also praised ‘In Borrowed Houses.’ A judge in the 22nd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards called 'In Borrowed Houses' “ . . a well written book full of compassion . . . a captivating story . . . ”. Another reviewer described the book as “Wise, honest, sensitive, funny, heart-wrenching . . .”. Colin Chapman, lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut said, “ . . . western Christians and Middle Eastern Christians need to read this story…full of remarkable perceptiveness and genuine hope.”
