Pat Chalfant, Certified Care Medium, To Offer Psychic Readings As Christmas Gifts For Christmas 2017 Season

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide.

Pat Chalfant is a Certified CARE Medium who gives psychic readings and teaches mediumship classes. For the 2017 Christmas Season, she will be offering psychic readings to members of the public who wish to give them to others as Christmas gifts.

Pat is offering a special holiday reading of 15 to 20 minute for $25 which she calls a Mini-Reading.  She expects it to join the ranks of her regular readings when the season is over. Regular readings are $120 for an hour and $80 for a half-hour.  This Mini-reading focuses primarily on some one aspect of the life of the person being read for with brief references to lesser aspects.  She says those who have had a “Mini” are praising it!

She will be offering a Holiday special of an hour reading for $80 the same price as a half-hour reading as well as the $25 Mini-Reading.  She will send notice of the buyer's reading gift to the recipient along with a holiday design she has created.  It will contain the information about the reading with her telephone number included so that they may either get in touch to make their reading appointment by e-mailing Pat or by telephoning her.

Buyers can also choose then which one of several card designs to send with the gift notice. Full information is available at Pat Chalfant's site (pat.chalfant@patchalfant.com).

Pat's inspirational book, 'Spirit Lights a Path to Mediumship', explains how Pat, a real skeptic regarding such matters, developed mediumship abilities and now lives a life transformed by the spiritual. The book has 8 5-star reviews.  Mediumship is a controversial issue and Pat understands this, but she also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of real benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored.

She has written a column on parapsychology and interviewed Hollywood stars and the psychics who read for them for a national newspaper. Other topics she’s taught and written about are: past life therapy, death and dying, the Edgar Cayce work, the Cathars, and Spiritual healing.

The Association for Past Life Research and Therapies newsletter published a series of her interviews with psychiatrists, psychologists, and hypnotherapists who were all west coast pioneers of past life therapy. She also teaches internationally online and intermittently hosts an online Spiritualist circle, Spirit Lights Chapel.

Pat offers one-on-one client readings arranged via email, and offers classes in mediumship.  She hosts a YouTube channel that offers information on mediumship.  All are now available at her site.

Pat's online courses are exactly like the ones she teaches regularly in a classroom setting in Portland, Oregon. These classes are held online so that anyone can take part no matter where they might be in the world.  Some students receive one-on-one, private instruction and others share instruction with a group of students.

Private psychic readings can be done over the phone and can be scheduled by email.

Pat is a singer/songwriter. Three of her hymns are in the National Spiritualist Association of Churches hymn book. Many more of her songs are in her “Spirit Lights Song Book.”  She offers a program as a fund raiser, singing and playing her own songs, illustrating how she became a medium.

Pat Chalfant is currently appearing on The Authors Show. Her interview is available now at The Authors Show site. 'Spirit Lights a Path to Mediumship' is available at her website and at Amazon. Pat is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at pat.chalfant@patchalfant.com. She is also available for inspirational lectures. Miraculous Visions And Miracle Healings Are Common Occurrences For Pat Chalfant, Author Of 'Spirit Lights'

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide.

For most people, miracles in the forms of healings or visions are extraordinary events. For Pat Chalfant, they happen frequently. So much so that she has incorporated these kinds of events into her work and her life. Pat is a Certified CARE Medium who now gives psychic readings and teaches mediumship classes. Pat recently related several of these events.

"Dr. Brumet had barely finished his final comments," Pat stated, "in the closing lecture for the weekend seminar titled 'Meditation in the Noble Silence.'  Suddenly, without planning to, I found myself on my feet hurrying up the aisle toward the front of the auditorium where Dr. Brumet stood.

"It seemed unreal to me that I was actually on my way up that aisle to tell him what I hadn’t intended to tell him at all. It was something I had seen in one of his meditation sessions earlier in the week.  I decided on the run to just start at the top and tell him what had appeared.  It was quite surprising to me and seemed quite mystical, but I couldn’t imagine that it would mean anything to him.  Nevertheless, as I suddenly reached his side I said, 'Hello, Dr. Brumet.  I’m the mother of Beth Ullman who’s been singing in your presentation and I am an intuitive. As I was watching you yesterday during the meditation portion of the day, I suddenly saw a large circle of white material over your right shoulder which opened up in the middle and became donut-shaped, then inside the doughnut hole, I saw a meditator sitting cross-legged.  I saw it for only a few moments, then the donut crumbled and disappeared.'

"Immediately, he said, 'Very interesting!  A few years ago, when photographs were taken involving me, that image was seen in the photos.  What do you think it means?'  I really had thought he might not reply to it at all, so I wasn’t prepared to venture an interpretation.

"Little did I know that there would be more mystical revelations before the weekend was done.  Remarkable as the image of the cross-legged meditator was and Dr. Brumet’s explanation of its dramatic association with him, there was more to come.

"We left early the next morning for KC and what turned out to be a really exciting Sunday morning in the church where my daughter was scheduled to sing.   The band that worked there every Sunday morning was warming up and it was clear they would be wonderful for Beth to work with, but I could hardly pay attention to the whole thing because, as the old joke goes, 'my feet were killing me.'  I had walked long distances on the Unity Village campus where the classes were held and I had worn sandals when I should have worn walking shoes.  I was trying to conceal that I was really limping a lot.  As Beth went straight into the sanctuary to rehearse with the band, I hobbled into the book store that was right across from the sanctuary.

"The manager greeted me as I entered saying, 'Hello, just let me know if I can help you find anything.  My goodness, that’s a bad limp you have there.  I do some healing.  Would you like me to see if I could help you with that?'  I gratefully said that if it wasn’t too much trouble, I would love that.  She told me to go into the office that was just off the book store and wait for her while she rang up another customer’s sale.

"It was only a matter of minutes before she came in and asked me to show her where the pain was and I indicated it was my right foot.   She explained she would start by holding her hands around my head and then she would end up at the floor working on the foot directly.  She lowered the lights and began by holding her hands behind my head.  I felt, as she worked, that even with my eyes closed, I could feel her energy and knew exactly where her hands were and what they were doing.  Later she bent down to the floor and moved her hands in paddling motions around the foot in question.  I began to feel something changing, it seemed there was less pain,  then I became so lulled by what was happening that I felt myself pleasantly, peacefully drifting away.

"When she came to a stop with the healing, the lights came back on and she asked me, 'How does that feel now?'  I opened my eyes, wiggled my toes, stood up, walked on the foot and was amazed.  The pain wasn’t completely gone, but the foot was seriously much better.  I was hardly limping.  I was pretty much healed.  My thanks were profuse.  I asked her how she had learned to do this kind of healing.  She said, 'I lived in England when my children were small and one day when I picked them up after school, my son’s teacher said that my son had been hurt on the school playground but was fine now because she had healed him.  I wanted to know what she meant.  She demonstrated the technique and I imitated what she did until she said I had got it right.  From that time on, I would just heal the kids with that simple technique every time they got hurt.  It’s really effective.'

"I might have stayed and talked with her, but the service was about to start.  So I walked over to the sanctuary happy to be without a noticeable limp and in a short while, was thankfully singing a familiar hymn to the accompaniment of the extraordinary church band. But the miracles weren’t over yet.

"As the minister got into her sermon, it turned out to be about healing.  She told a story about a physical healing that had happened to her and as she began to speak about that healing, I recalled Dr. Brumet telling about how he started having a serious pain in his body as he sat in the cross-legged way during a Meditation in the Noble Silence years before when he was a student.  The students were always urged never to leave the meditative position until the leader dismissed everyone.  He felt the pain becoming unbearable but he was determined that he would stay in the proper position no matter what happened.  He mentally gritted his teeth and hoped for help, until suddenly, he felt the pain go away.  The pain simply disappeared and there was no obvious reason for it going.

"The minister’s story reflected that same sudden change from pain to healing and as she said what had happened to her and I recalled what Dr. Brumet said had happened to him, I felt the last part of the pain and stiffness in my foot simply melt away.  I knew positively, without even trying to walk on it, that the pain and stiffness had gone completely now.  I knew it was happening because I could feel 'something' move through me that moved the last of the discomfort out of me as the 'something' left."

Life After Death, The Death Of A Child, And The Challenges Of Loss - Author And NDE Expert Brian McLaughlin Issues Statement

The parent/child bond is addressed by McLaughlin from an entirely unique perspective, as he met his father during his near death experience. That experience is detailed in his multi-award winning book, 'A Flight Without Wings'

Nobody wants to face the challenge of dealing with the loss of a loved one. This is especially true when that loss is the loss of a child. For it is then that plans for the future turn into memories of the past.

Though our family, friend, counselors and clergy want to help us, nobody can give us what we need most of all. Kind words can only go so far. Well intentioned advice necessarily falls far short. The challenge faced by grieving parents is a challenge very few people can understand. At the heart of that challenge is an overwhelming need on the part of survivors for assurance that the deceased is really okay.

Brian McLaughlin recently addressed these concerns in a piece posted on his site. He stated, in part, "Life After Death is a challenging concept for all of us when facing the loss of someone special and the Death of a Child especially. Family dynamics change and personal relationships may suffer. Parents who face the Death of a Child may feel that their whole 'game plan' has been violated. The addition of children into a family creates a focus that seems to supersede all. Should those parents experience the Death of a Child, the focus is so disrupted that it proves to be difficult to recover from."

"This would be considered true for a death of any family member, or friend. Plans for the future turn into memories of the past. I don’t think it is ever a matter of finding a way to refocus or replace, but rather a matter of management. I have found that allowing a place to memorialize the person works better than expecting to forget. Talking about the loved one seems to be more cathartic than not. Frustration and hurt appear to remain on the front burner and becomes very disruptive in one’s life going forward."

"Investigating and accepting the possibility of an afterlife may prove to be a help in managing your loss. In my case, my short visit to Heaven has afforded me a different perspective on death and loss. I know from my event that I was comfortable, fulfilled and at peace. It changed my whole concept of loss. Although obviously it still hurts, some of the concerns about the loved one being 'OK' are satisfied.”

The full statement is available at McLaughlin's site.

Brian's book about his near death experience, 'A Flight Without Wings' offers readers a look at the near death experience from an unbiased point of view. It is the presentation of the material that sets this book apart from the other books about the near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. While his book has a spiritual flavor certainly, there is no preaching and no religious messages. It is his near-death experience, just as it happened.

McLaughlin's experience changed the course of his life forever.  It instilled in him what we all seek - certainty about life after death. And with that a peace of  mind that can never be shaken, nor can it be doubted. His near death experience brought a sense of clarity. It brought a sense of real, lasting peace. He now knows with certainty that we exist forever. It is that simple message he brings to his audience, both through his book and at his speaking engagements and in his media appearances.

Brian has won numerous awards. He was chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in both the 2015 and 2016 Book Awards.

Reviews of 'A Flight Without Wings' have been overwhelmingly positive. Dr. Penny Sartori, author of 'The Wisdom of Near-Death Experiences', said "This book will help others who have had an NDE to make sense of their experience and will also help those close to someone who has had an NDE because NDEs affect close family members and friends too."

Jack Magnus, a reviewer with Readers Favorite, called the book a "well written and moving memoir that neither delves into the fanciful or dogmatic,...”  "…Well worth reading, and is highly recommended." Another stated, "Being a mother who lost her only child I found it to be a great comfort to me." Another said, "I have read many accounts such as these, but this beautifully written account simply touched my heart in ways that previous ones have not."

A review posted by a reader stated, ”I was advised to read this book after I lost my 18 year old daughter and 40 days later, my mother. I was really struggling with faith and where my daughter was, if she was ok, at peace, happy? All the things people tell you. This book helped me tremendously. Gave me the peace I very much needed and also the hope that I will see her again when it's my turn. . . . This is the book I always need to have in my collection, because unfortunately, with such a tragic loss I would need to read it again and again to keep the peace inside. I actually have given as gifts to people who like me are struggling. Thank you Brian McLaughlin."

Mark Feuerstein, Actor (Royal Pains, USA Network, Prison Break, 9JKL) wrote: “I have read it and I think it’s an inspiring tale of deep insight and so personal and yet so universal . . . such profound perspective.”

Life After Death Can Be Proven Says Pat Chalfant, CARE Certified Spiritualist Psychic Medium, Author of 'Spirit Lights a Path To Mediumship'

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide.

While many of us believe there is an afterlife, for most it is just that - a belief.  But where is the proof? The proof will not be found by science; it will instead be found in experience.

CARE Certified Medium and author Pat Chalfant knows, beyond any shadow of doubt, that the afterlife exists.  For Pat and many of her students and clients, the proof lies in the experiences they have shared.

"A client booked a reading with me on March 9th, 2006, and mentioned in the inquiry that she was doing some automatic writing and just needed to think about that out loud with someone who had some professional background and experience in extrasensory perception. She really needed assurance because she had never read about this kind of thing or had any kinds of spiritual or psychic experiences so she had no clue about what was what."

"The two main correspondents were musicians of yesteryear, one who died in the 1970’s and the other in the 1990s, both were extremely well-known.  I asked how she had found me and asked if she had put 'psychic medium' in a search engine. She told me, 'You know, that’s a funny thing because I was looking for something entirely different in Yahoo, and your name just popped up.'  She said she asked the famous musician who had taken the lead in instructing her in automatic writing and metaphysical subjects in general whether it would be all right for her to speak with me about her doubts, because she needed someone on earth to give her advice about all of it.  We’ll call him John, and she said he immediately seemed very happy about that and said that was ok.  Previously, he had not wanted her to speak with any mediums because he was afraid they would tell her bad things about him, but he said I was ok with him."

"The reason that I was so enchanted and so convinced by the things this young medium told me was that this man, John, had told her all the right things, everything that makes mediumship safe.  And all of this had happened entirely through just practicing her automatic writing on a daily or nearly daily basis for a couple of months."

"She met up with two mediums before she began the automatic writing who gave her important signposts.  The first one was at a party at Christmas time and told her that many spirits were around her and making it difficult for this medium to enjoy herself at the party because they were so “loud.”  She said that this young woman would receive a present from a co-worker and it would have the musician John’s picture on it and a mirror.  She was given an object for Christmas with his picture on it, as predicted, and her boyfriend took off a sticker on the back of it for her to discover it was covering a mirror."

"The next medium came into her coffee shop and said that she wasn’t allowed to give anyone a reading unless they asked her for one.  'So ask me,' she said.  The girl, who had never met any mediums or psychics in her life before, but would soon be a medium herself, said, 'Okay, give me a reading.' This reader told her that she was going to be involved with two men who were spirits and their names were John and Micky and they were famous musicians."

"Later this woman said she can hear spirit voices but she hears them speaking as if they spoke in her own voice.  After the girl developed the ability to hear spirit (clairaudience) she heard spirits speaking as they had on earth."

"A lot of proofs began to be brought to her of the same sort as had happened with John.  These were arranged by the other musician whom we will call Micky.  She had gotten a copy of a reality show that had recently been produced and had involved him, even though he had died ten years before, and when she put it on to play it in the restaurant she owns, the lights immediately dimmed, then flashed.  She played it several more times and each time the lights did a show for everyone, so that everyone could see it and comment to her on it.  That was one of the things she realized early on, that these inexplicable happenings nearly always happened when other people were around so they could tell her about them, verify them for her, and so people began to mention that there was something that seemed almost “planned” about these things that happened around her."

"She found taped interviews of them both and she recognized their voices."

"She had had more than enough proofs that these guys were around her by the time that she gave in and, standing in the middle of her bedroom at 2 a.m. one morning,  she said to nobody visible, “Okay, I know you’re there, tell me what you want?”

She realized, then, that there was a pencil and paper by her bed that she didn’t remember putting there, so she said, ‘Okay, if that’s what you want, I’ll try it.' And she did…she sat down, put the pencil to the paper,…felt a slight push on her hand…and the rest, as they say, is history, or it will be when the book that John is helping her to write comes out."

"After she had done a certain amount of automatic writing and had gotten to know the two, she knew that Micky still had unfinished issues on earth that made him bitter and sad, but that John had met Micky because of her and he was on a different plane than Micky."

"Both John and Micky told her they wanted to prove to their families and friends that they were still alive on the Other Side.  They indicated that they wanted her to take copies of their automatic writing to their loved ones on earth to prove they still existed and to help straighten out misunderstandings."

Life After Death, The Death Of A Child, Grief, Fear, And Moving Forward - Author And NDE Expert Brian McLaughlin Issues Statement

The parent/child bond is addressed by McLaughlin from an entirely unique perspective, as he met his father during his near death experience. That experience is detailed in his multi-award winning book, 'A Flight Without Wings'

The parent/child bond is unlike any other relationship in the human experience. It is the strongest of connections. While many life situations can impact the parent/child bond, death seems to sever that bond finally. But does it really? Perhaps not.

Whether a parent loses a child, or a child loses a parent, there is an overwhelming need on the part of survivors for assurance that the deceased is really okay. It seems impossible to move forward. Even if we do, we often experience guilt simply because we are moving forward.

Brian McLaughlin recently addressed these concerns in a piece posted on his site. He stated, in part, "For parents who have experienced the death of a child, the pain of that loss lingers with little satisfaction or resolution. The natural instinct to protect lasts as long, or longer than the immediate grief.  Some say it is unnatural, while others say the void remains forever. Although I have not had that exact experience, I have had a similar enough event happen that has given me some clarity."

"I found in my brief visit to Heaven, that all is good. No loneliness, no longing to come back, no pain."

"Very few spoken words needed there, as an all consuming love seemed to blanket all concerns. I speak of a hard to describe pure love. With it, a connection to energies of most that have passed. I personally felt a superior intelligence that brought peace, understanding, and clarity through the light that surrounded all."

"I shared only a few spoken words with my then deceased father.  He came and found me on my journey to somehow open this portal of knowledge and pure love. That allowed me to return with heightened senses of clarity, and intuition, as well as a feeling of complete peace. I was comfortable and satisfied  where I was, not wanting to return. Though disappointed, I gave in to his instruction to go back”.

The full statement is available at McLaughlin's site.

Brian's book about his near death experience, 'A Flight Without Wings' offers readers a look at the near death experience from an unbiased point of view. Life After Death, The Death Of A Child And The Parent Child Bond Addressed By NDE Expert And Author Brian McLaughlin

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience in which he met his father. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

The death of a child is overwhelming and horrific. While the pain is unimaginable, the overwhelming need for assurance that the child is okay weighs heavily on the hearts and in the minds of parents. Conversely, from the perspective of a child, the death of a parent is every bit as traumatic.

The parent/child bond is the most powerful force in the human psychological makeup. Whether a parent loses a child, or a child loses a parent, there is an overwhelming need on the part of survivors for assurance that the deceased is really okay.

For most of us, questions such as "Is my child OK?" or "Is my Dad OK?" are questions that cannot be answered with certainty. Not so in the case of Brian McLaughlin. He has the answer and it is rooted in a firm base of absolute certainty.

McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven', offers a message of hope to those of us who can open our minds to the possibility that there really is an afterlife. His message is not based on hope or wishful thinking. It is instead based upon experience. His message offers us the clearest proof we'll ever have in regards to knowing that our loved ones are really okay.

McLaughlin shared:  “The trauma from loss remains a painful emotion to endure.  Parents, friends, and family members evoke memories that we may feel are lost.  The added sense of responsibility  in the death of a child makes the process even more debilitating. There are only a few ways to convince someone of the existence of
life after death and that their child is OK.

"One would be faith, and the other might be listening/talking to someone who has first hand experience with the afterlife.  Difficult to explain the bright, comfortable, all- embracing light that surrounded my father and me when I saw him in Heaven. It seems that the love and knowledge that passed to me, came from that light and through my father."

"Sometimes I wonder if he felt further comfort in this opportunity to contribute to my life, albeit to ultimately send me back.”

Mark Feuerstein, Actor (Royal Pains, USA Network) wrote: “I have read it and I think it’s an inspiring tale of deep insight and so personal and yet so universal . . . such profound perspective.”

The Death Of A Child - Life After Death Is Addressed By NDE Expert And Author Brian McLaughlin's 'A Flight Without Wings

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

The death of a child is a pain that never goes away. It is a loss that is unlike any other loss. It is overwhelming and traumatic and reshapes our entire existence. The pain is unimaginable.

When a child is taken away, our need to care for that child is not taken away. The parent's desire to protect the child is deeply ingrained, one of the most powerful forces in the psyche. It is hardwired into our DNA. The unexpected death of a child often turns that parental instinct into a searing need to know, to find answers.

Unfortunately, "Is my child okay?" is a question without a firm answer. We can hope, we can believe, but ultimately we don't really know. If we knew beyond any shadow of doubt, perhaps we could rest in at least some form of assurance of safety.

Brian McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven', offers a message of hope to those of us who can open our minds to the possibility that there really is an afterlife. His message is not based on hope or wishful thinking. It is instead based upon experience. His message offers us the clearest proof we'll ever have in regards to knowing that our loved ones are really okay.

McLaughlin recalls: “I was gifted some extraordinary insights and intuitions through my death experience (NDE).  My vision of what happens when we die, and what Heaven is like came to me as a first person experience.  My clarity is not a compilation or summery of other people’s stories, packaged neatly into a lesson."

"Although my book recalls only the tips of the icebergs I encountered through death, and a visit to Heaven, the depth of my event unravels when I speak about it."

"The parental instinct that causes so much anxiety over the loss of a child poses questions that can only be answered by someone who has “been there”.  It would really require some measure of faith to believe in an afterlife, however, those who do can gather a lot of clarity and comfort from listening to someone directly altered by such an experience."

"I try on many occasions to answer questions like: Is my child ok? Are they alone or scared? I know the answers.  I know how they are feeling... I know if they feel scared or alone. Even though knowing these answers will not bring their loved one back, it may be a comfort to be able to clear their plate somewhat.”

Is My Child Ok Is The Question Asked By Survivors After Death - NDE Expert And Author Brian McLaughlin Offers A Message Of Hope

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

When we lose a child, the question we ask is "Is my child ok?" We can't answer that question, though it haunts us.

Many grief support organizations, such as The Compassionate Friends, offer support to parents after a child dies. The Angel of Hope Children's Memorial offers parents an opportunity to create a memorial to the memory of children lost. Others like Bereaved Parents of the USA, The Dougy Center, The COPE Foundation and many more offer help and support to those left behind. Churches, psychologists, peer groups and a multitude of others approach the issue from myriad perspectives. We are not without help, yet we are still left wondering.

Not so for near death experience survivor Brian McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven'. McLaughlin offers a message of hope to those of us who can open our minds to the possibility that there really is an afterlife.

McLaughlin reveals: "The single most asked question I encounter by people who have lost someone special is:  Is my child (or special person) Ok ?  By that, I have assumed that they are concerned whether their child, family member, or friend are lonely or scared or want desperately to return."

"I find myself in a unique position to answer these and other similar questions through my experience of dying, spending some time in Heaven, then returning."

"Will the deceased remain looking the same as when they left ? Will I recognize them if they age as we do here on Earth ?  I think some people liken it to a High School reunion, when you see people you knew decades ago, and now, don’t recognize them at all. The personal experience I had in seeing my deceased father convinced me that it’s not like that in Heaven."

"Secondly, from my own personal experience again, I was not desperate to return. In fact, when my father told me I had to ‘go back’, I was disappointed.  That may be a hard pill to swallow for some (it was for my family), but if you think about it...  Imagine how content one would have to be, not to want to return, even to say goodbye".

Brian's book about his near death experience, 'A Flight Without Wings' offers readers a look at the near death experience from an unbiased point of view. It is the presentation of the material that sets this book apart from the other books about the near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. Life After Death - NDE Expert Brian McLaughlin Offers An Answer To Life's Greatest Mystery

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

The loss of a loved one - the death of a child, a spouse who has died or a good friend who has suddenly passed on -  is undoubtedly the worst experience any human will be forced to endure. It is a universal form of suffering that cannot be avoided. Admit it or not, the question weighs heavily on everyone's mind, for one thing is certain - we will lose spouses. We will lose children. We will lose friends. And, at some point, they will lose us.

While this issue is brought into our consciousness daily by the news media's fascination with such events - Prince, David Bowie, Gene Wilder, Arnold Palmer, Justice Scalia, Carrie Fisher, etc - it doesn't really hit home until it hits home. It is then we are literally brought to our knees by grief. These events changes the focus and direction of one's life forever thereafter. The power of death is sickening. And it is something over which no human being has any control. "Is there life after death?" is the question on everybody's mind. But perhaps we should ask a different question:

Is it possible that it is all an illusion?

In Deepak Chopra's 'Life After Death' he puts forth the idea that at the time of death we cross over into a new phase of existence and that what we experience in the afterlife is based on our own current belief systems and expectations. Could that be true? And, if it is true, what purpose would grief serve then? If we knew beyond any doubt that our spouse, our child or our friend continued to exist on another plane - or in some form we could understand - how would that change our reaction to death? More importantly, how would it change the way we function in life?

Author Brian McLaughlin knows the answers to these questions. He hopes to offer some assurance to anyone who holds questions about the possibility of life after death. In his book and in his public appearances, he attempts to present a message that can provide some measure of comfort. He can do this because he has been there.

McLaughlin explains: “ In dealing with grief over the loss of a loved one, whether it be a spouse, other family member, good friend, etc., I certainly cannot erase the loss. I can however, answer some of the questions and concerns that I find most prevalent.

The most common of these is:  Is my child/loved one OK?  Are they lonely or scared? Do they feel happy? Do they miss me?  My experience has given me the answers.  The Heaven I experienced, and seeing my deceased father showed me that all is good in this place.  A feeling of total fulfillment and peace surround you, even to the point of not wanting to return to a life here.  Imagine just how powerful that is.

"These concerns appear to be the same for anyone.  Whether a celebrity, a great thinker, or an average person (like myself)...  The grief can be consuming. Should you allow yourself to believe in this ‘afterlife’, those issues may become ones of joyful anticipation of being reunited.

"Eric Clapton wrote a song about the loss of his son in ‘Tears In Heaven’, asking if he would know and recognize him in Heaven. Apparently performing this song still evokes emotion, and he has removed it from his concert playlist. To see it from where I stand brings a whole new perspective, and I can picture him performing that song with a big smile on the inside!

"The point is, that no matter your social status, the pain and concerns are the same. Losing a loving family member or good friend leaves a void in our lives. I can only offer to make that void a little smaller.”

Brian serves as co-host of the Chapters Rap Show on MadhouseTV.com, an Internet television show that is broadcast worldwide. He uses this forum to showcase people who make a difference.  Brian was chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in both the 2015 and 2016 Book Awards.

The Question Of Life After Death - Brian McLaughlin, Author Of 'A Flight Without Wings' Provides A Look At The Other Side

McLaughlin's book about NDE's details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no theology and no hidden agenda

Where did we come from? What happens when we die? These two questions have been contemplated by nearly every human born since the very beginning of the human species. Questions about our origins however do not hold the same urgency as those about where we may be going next. The desire to know and understand what happens after we die is the Great Unanswered Question. While formalized systems such as religion and philosophy offer us conjecture and opinions, in the end they are just that. What we seek instead is a clear cut answer - proof.

Near death experiences seem to offer the possibility of real proof. Crystal McVea, author of 'Waking Up In Heaven' claims she was sent back to Earth by God. Don Piper, author of '90 Minutes In Heaven' came back to life after being declared dead when a clergy member prayed over him. Billie Eadie, author of 'Embraced By The Light', returned after meeting Jesus. Dr. Mary Neal, author of 'To Heaven And Back', met Jesus and was given a premonition about the death of her son before returning. There are many more. Are these stories proof of life after death? For many skeptics, the answer is no. The underlying religious tone of many of these stories can be a real turnoff for non-believers.

Brian A. McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings' gives us another perspective on the near death experience. His story is utterly unique. McLaughlin's book about NDE's details his amazing near death experience in a way that is raw and real. There is no embellishment, no theology and no hidden agenda.

McLaughlin died during a trip to Mexico and experienced his own NDE.  That event changed the course of his life forever.  It instilled in him what we all seek - certainty about life after death. And with that a peace of mind that can never be shaken, nor can it be doubted. His near death experience brought a sense of clarity. It brought a sense of real, lasting peace. He now knows with certainty that we exist forever.

brian_mclaughlin_cover“Am I that different from you ?  Hardly. I’m just an average guy who is looking to share my unusual, life changing experience with you. I struggled when considering writing a book about NDEs as a way to get the word out. Should I tell a story that satisfies most conceptions of Heaven, and create something easy to read and be entertaining ?  Lots to consider.

I finally realized that I had to be true to the experience, and simply tell it like it was. In fact, most of my own pre-conceptions of Heaven were absent.  Did that disappoint me ?  No.  I spent most of my education in parochial schools up to and including some college.  Suffice it to say I had plenty of thoughts about what to expect in a visit to Heaven. Still not disappointed.  Faced with being surrounded and overwhelmed by the purest version of love and peace that I could even attempt to describe… why would I be disappointed ?  That was profound, that was  peace.  I certainly don’t feel as though I missed out on anything…  I got it,  it was sufficient,  I wouldn’t trade the experience in to get my eye back, or remove the scars and  go back to what/whom I was before the accident.

I think it’s better to just go with what I know. Although other books may describe a different vision, I could only speak with authority about MY experience albeit different from others. I was gifted great things to return with. New and powerful tools to use in my Earthly life. The absence of fear, both of death and for many issues I face, changes my perspective on so many things.  The understanding and clarity in putting simple and basic concepts to use in relationships has obvious benefit.

So… Maybe now you can see why I actually feel lucky to have been given this experience, even without the wings or halos, or even meeting Jesus, I walked away with so very much.”
