Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Releases New Video In Anticipation Of Release Of 'Passions In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'

Canadian romantic fiction author Rusty Blackwood's new novel has been compared to Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. The novel presents an intense story of soul mates whose love spans lifetimes

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood has released a new video in anticipation of the release of  'Passions In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'. The new romantic fiction book has been compared to Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come', as the love story spans lifetimes.

"The new novel," stated Ms. Blackwood, " is a dream come true. I have been fortunate to have been given another opportunity to accomplish what I had originally set out to do, namely write this heartfelt story in one novel, as opposed to two. I feel readers will experience an entirely new awakening to what love truly means, a roller-coaster ride through immense emotions, certain to leave them reeling, and possibly viewing the loves in their life in an entirely new light."

Rusty further states, "Book trailers have become as important to the introduction and awareness of a new title fully as much as a theatrical trailer brings to an upcoming film, and I am immensely proud of the stunning trailer that introduces my new title. It captures the very essence of the story, and provides a sensual, exciting insight to what awaits the reader within the pages of the novel."

In the new novel the city of  Paris, one of the most romantic places in the world, sets the scene for what could be one of the best romance novels to come along in ages. The book is peppered with drama, intrigue, deception, adultery and jealousy alike. The fictional romance centers on star-crossed lovers Joy Wychmere and Cullen Malone. A diary, lost for almost half a century, opens a door to the past and one fateful evening changes two lives forever.

Reviewers have praised the new work. Reviewer Cat Howard said, "Eternal love, finding your true soul mate, and how echoes from past lives can influence the present, this story has it all . . . " Another Reader's Favorite reviewer stated, "Enjoyable and exciting, this is a book for people who have romance flowing in their veins."

'Passions In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary' is slated for release in Spring, 2013. The new video can be viewed now at Blackwood's website.

Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood To Release New Version Of 'Passion In Paris' Novel

Canadian romantic fiction author Rusty Blackwood's novel has been compared to Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. The novel presents the story of soul mates whose love spans lifetimes

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood will release a new version of her 'Passion In Paris' novel. The book was originally published in two parts - 'Passion In Paris: Connections To The Past' and 'Passion In Paris: Directions Of The Heart'. The new title, 'Passions In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary', is an updated version of the storyline in a single volume. The book has been compared to Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come', as the love story spans several lifetimes.

"As a writer, and as a woman," reveals Ms. Blackwood when asked why she wrote a story about love spanning several lifetimes, "the expression of love, whether it is expressed in the moment, or recalled from memories dwelling deep within the heart, is the purest form of expression I can write. I've always been a hopeless romantic who believes in love ever-lasting, and that each of us have a soul mate, the reflection of us, the one who holds the other half of our heart, the one we are destined to love for eternity." Rusty continues,"I also believe -- from experience -- that our prior lives can wash into the present, shaping our future, and defining our destiny. With this realization comes much information, among that, who you are meant to be with."

When asked why she is releasing a totally new version of a previously released title, Rusty answers, "I suppose one could call me a perfectionist, and whether that's true or not I do expect the best out of everything I do; my writing, and the publishing of it is no different.  Readers who pick up an author's title expect quality within the pages, and a writer who submits their work to a publisher's copy-editor expects that this particular professional will do this job in a proficient manner; with regard to this, the later was not realized. That is the main reason I decided to totally revise it, and because I had decided to do that, it also gave me the chance to express certain areas from a completely different light, perceptive, as well as expression. Each published title carries the author's name, and the work within the book reflects the ability of the one who wrote it. Therefore it must be as good as it can possibly be."

Blackwood is a prolific Indie author of romantic fiction, short story comedies, contemporary and traditional poetry and children's books. Her first love is romantic fiction, but she crosses genres with ease. Her first venture into the competitive world of mainstream fiction was realized in early October 2010 with the release of her debut romance novel, ‘Passion in Paris: Connections to the Past’, the first of two in the ongoing romance/drama. The second part, a romance novel entitled, ‘Passion in Paris: Directions of the Heart’ was released in May 2011. In March of 2012 she released a short story comedy, ‘The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom’. She has also written an eclectic array of Contemporary and Traditional poetry, publishing her first collection in October of 2009 entitled, ‘Feelings: A Rhythmic Journey in Thought’. This title was re-released with additional content in 2011 under the title, ‘Impressions: Poetic Rhythm in Emotion’. ‘Feelings’ was followed in April of 2010 by a collection of assorted short stories for children as well the young at heart entitled ’Young Minds’ which was later re-released with new added content entitled, ‘Through the Eyes of Innocence’.

Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Offers Encouragement And Hope For Indie Authors In New And Past Interviews

Canadian romantic fiction author Rusty Blackwood has been interviewed by Abigail Green of Niagara College, Don McCauley of FPFG,  U.K's Waterstone Publishing's Kirsty Scard for The Book Mogul and a number of other high profile Indie author interviewers. In these interviews she discusses the subjects of writing, romantic fiction, the difference between romantic fiction and erotica, book marketing and the current state of book publishing

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood is a prolific author of romantic fiction, short story comedies, contemporary and traditional poetry and children's books. Her first love is romantic fiction. She recently compiled a number of some of her favorite interviews and has made them available at her website. In these interviews she discusses the subjects of writing, romantic fiction, the difference between romantic fiction and erotica, book marketing, the current state of book publishing and why Indie authors are setting a new standard for authors of every genre.

When asked about answering questions from the media, Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood states, "I'm always happy to do an interview, because I feel it helps to allow valuable insight into my work, as well as the reasons why I write. It also allows me the chance to speak about the interesting avenues of the literary world, and what encourages that next piece of literature to be created, or existing work to be built upon."

Rusty Blackwood crosses genres with ease. Her first venture into the competitive world of main-stream fiction was realized in early October 2010 with the release of her debut romance novel, "Passion in Paris: Connections to the Past", the first of two in the ongoing romance/drama. The second part, a romance novel entitled, "Passion in Paris: Directions of the Heart" was released in May 2011. In March of 2012 she released a short story comedy, "The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom". She has also written an eclectic array of Contemporary and Traditional poetry, publishing her first collection in October of 2009 entitled, "Feelings: A Rhythmic Journey in Thought". This title was re-released with additional content in 2011 under the title, "Impressions: Poetic Rhythm in Emotion". "Feelings" was followed in April of 2010 by a collection of assorted short stories for children as well the young at heart, entitled,"Young Minds"  which was later re-released with new added content entitled, "Through the Eyes of Innocence".

Rusty further states, "I think a good, in-depth interview gives the reader a chance to actually know the person who has written a title that they have enjoyed in ways that they otherwise might not. Also, well thought-out questions by a perceptive interviewer can enable the reader to learn about the author's life outside the realm of writing, which is important, because it brings life to an author's name, instead of merely a name beneath a book's title."

Romantic Fiction Versus Erotica - Author Rusty Blackwood Believes The Lines Have Become Blurred

With the recent success of what many may term erotica, many romantic fiction novelists are pondering where to draw the line that separates erotica from traditional romantic fiction. Romantic fiction novelist Rusty Blackwood believes the current trend towards erotica, while attractive for marketing value, is likely short lived and can harm the genre, rather than help it

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood is a romantic fiction novelist. She believes the recent trend of romance authors and writers leaning towards writing erotica for sheer marketing value can effectively eliminate the most important component of the romance novel - the romance.

"What would you honestly crave if given the choice," questions Ms. Blackwood, "romance or erotica? For me the answer is easy. Give me good old fashioned romance any old day. Yes, the physical aspect of love is important, but where does one draw the line, and what would you give to have someone honestly care for you - love you beyond all reason - for as long as you draw breath?  Would you simply settle for the physical with no substance, no future or desire to have anything beyond that? A well written romance must contain these types of scenes including coarse language as well as graphic imagery to be both believable and entertaining, but first and foremost it must tell a substantial story that people can actually relate to, told in a way that evokes emotion, mental participation, and entertainment for the reader."

"When I read a story," Blackwood continued, "I want to become the heroine - feel her emotions, walk in her shoes and experience her plight; if I have done this by the end of the story then I have been thoroughly entertained, and the author has succeeded in their effort to provide me with the experience I am looking for. I am in no way suggesting that erotica does not elicit entertainment — after all this is the main reason it is written as well as the reason it is read — but do not make the unfortunate mistake in believing that erotica is romance for it is not, the two genres are completely different. Any reader thinking the two are in any way the same has been sadly ill-advised, and is in for a tremendous eye-opening experience. While I appreciate what is happening, it might be important for romantic fiction authors to get back to the basic reason why two people find love in the first place - especially love that can endure all adversity and time without using cover to cover erotica to sell it."

Traditional Publishing Versus Self Publishing - Authors, Agents And Publishers Invited To Offer Opinions On The Best Options

The world of book publishing has seen dramatic and sweeping changes over the last few years. New authors are often confused by the seemingly endless choices. Author Rusty Blackwood has been through it and now hopes to help new authors make informed and intelligent decisions by offering up the experiences of those who have been through the publishing process

Acclaimed Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, author of the 'Passion In Paris' series, today announced that she invites authors, agents and publishers, both traditional and non-traditional, to participate in a discussion of the pros and cons of publishing models now available to authors. Her hope is to offer up the experiences of those who have been through the process as a resource for authors new to publishing. She also hopes this effort will give publishers a feel for what is important to authors and writers in today's book marketing environment.

“I began writing seriously in 2001,” says Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, when recently asked about her work. “Being able to express my emotions in expressive word has always been an endearing passion to me which is why I continue to follow my dreams, as well as my heart when it comes to bringing this passion to public awareness. I believe that is the simple bases in which most writers continue to write and produce their craft, regardless of the endless hours it takes to comprise something worthy of their talent, or the endless rejection from editors telling them their latest effort does not make the cut via a scribbled note telling the author: ‘very nice, but not what we are looking for at this time’. Yet regardless of the excuse, the rejection continues to be difficult, mainly because one wonders whether it’s simply a way of telling the prospective author that the piece they have slaved over, poured their heart and soul into, is in actuality, not good enough, or they are simply not cut out to write. Either excuse generates the same disheartening reaction within the soul of the writer. Thus, one turns to the self-publishing route and the all too-often undesirable conflicts surrounding that route."

Ms. Blackwood continues, “I speak first hand on this subject, for I took this route in the fall of 2008 to disastrous endings both in bungled services, and unexpected debt. I did not enter into this venture blindly for I had thoroughly done my research of the company I used. I have since pulled away from said company and revised and republished previous titles through another venue, and am in the process of revising a major title with hopes of gaining literary representation and following the traditional publishing route. I can only hope this will result in a much better ending than what I have experienced thus far.”

Author Rusty Blackwood Announces May Events, New Title - 'Passion In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'

Canadian Author Rusty Blackwood will be appearing at several St. Catharine's area bookstores during the month of May 2012. She is also pleased to announce the release of 'Passion In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'

Acclaimed Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, author of the 'Passion In Paris' series, today announced the anticipated release of a new title 'Passion In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'. The new title is a compiliation of two previously released, successful titles - 'Passion In Paris: Connections To The Past' and 'Passion In Paris: Directions Of The Heart'.  The new compilation follows the release of her new short story comedy, 'The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom'.

The new compilation takes place in anticipation of gaining literary representation for the title. She will appear at several locations in St. Catharines, Ontario during the month of May to introduce the new work.

"This is the way," stated Rusty, "I originally wanted and pictured it being done. It's like a child, one's first born, where every tiny nuisance is important, the way it's presented, and the way it's handled. Combing a major length manuscript into detailed synopsis is no small task, but one which is both needed, and required. An author views each step they take as a step toward success and accomplishment in the field of writing as well the need to satisfy the muse within. 'Passion in Paris', which is groomed and ready to meet the public under its new title "Passion in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary",  truly feels like giving birth to a wondrous creation with characters born out of my own blood, sweat, and tears and let to find their way in a world that I hope will receive them well, and find them and their respective stories both fulfilling, and worth remembering."

In celebration of the manuscript's completion, Ms. Blackwood will be appearing on May 12th. at Seaway Mall COLES in Welland, Ontario Canada and on May 19th. at Pen Centre COLES in St. Catharines, Ontario. Canada.

All of Ms Blackwood's titles are available at Amazon.com, CreateSpace.com, and at her website bookstore.

Author Rusty Blackwood Releases New Short Story Comedy, 'The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom'

Canadian Author Rusty Blackwood has announced the release of her new short story comedy, 'The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom'

Acclaimed Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, author of the 'Passion In Paris' series, has announced the release of her new short story comedy, 'The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom'.

'The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom' is a short story comedy centering around newly retired government official, Derwood J. Tugbottom, an English bachelor who fancies the ladies, but never found one that could take his attention from his appointment until he travels to an active Canadian Retirement Centre. Throughout a series of misunderstandings, mostly brought on by himself, the over-bearing retiree finally retaliates, leaving the retirement centre reeling in his wake.

"I have great respect for the elderly as well the road of living they have paved," said Rusty. "They have experienced so much in life and I adore their sense of humour, which is why I decided to take the elusive character of Derwood Justice Tugbottom, which actually came from my brother's vivid imagination, and put him into a situation where his early retirement took him in a far different direction than he would have ever imaged possible, resulting in a scenario that he would have much rather avoided, yet through it all he never once thought the ending would turn out like it did."

"Laughter is the spice of life, it truly is," Ms. Blackwood continued, "for without it I feel life would be rather dull.. I've a ways to go as yet before my own retirement, but I hope when that time comes I will be fortunate to find a peaches and cream delight and not sour grapes, as did Derwood."

The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom is available at Amazon.com, CreateSpace.com, and coming soon to Rusty's website bookstore.

Rusty Blackwood has written an eclectic array of Contemporary and Traditional poetry, publishing her first collection in October of 2009 entitled, ‘Feelings: A Rhythmic Journey in Thought’. Author Rusty Blackwood Releases New Children's Book For Parents And Grandparents, 'Through The Eyes Of Innocence'

Canadian Author Rusty Blackwood has announced the release of her new children's book, 'Through The Eyes Of Innocence'. Blackwood hopes the book will help parents and grandparents connect with children and grandchildren though reliving memories of their own childhood

Acclaimed Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, author of the 'Passion In Paris' series, has announced the release of her new children's book, 'Through The Eyes Of Innocence'. The book is a collection of short stories based on her experiences growing up in rural Ontario, Canada.

"Our childhood warrants more than we realize with regard to who we become as adults," says Rusty wholeheartedly. "A child who was allowed to laugh, explore, and use their imagination was a child that often followed their dreams, and in doing so, became whatever they so desired, as opposed to a child who was discouraged; taught only to believe in the negative. In that unfortunate scenario, the outcome as an adult can often prove an unwelcoming existence."

'Through the Eyes of Innocence', cover-image exclusively photographed by upcoming, creative photographer, Miss Carson Doan, is a collection of imaginative short stories for children as well the young at heart who still wish to touch the child dwelling inside each of us. There is nothing more innocent than a child and the way they look at the world with a curious mind filled to the brim with exciting adventure, whimsical imagination, and endless wonder. A child truly does look at the world in their own way, and within a special time that is all their own. This unique collection contains intricately woven tales stemming from Ms. Blackwood's imagination, as well based in part on her own childhood growing up in the 1950s on her paternal grandfather's farm in rural Ontario, Canada.

"I wrote these stories," relayed Ms. Blackwood, "primarily for my own children and grandchildren to gain insight into my childhood; possibly know the child I once was. It was important to me, for I feel it helps to bring family closer by experiencing, through words the happenings of those who came before." Rusty further states, "Through sharing my stories with parents and grandparents who might possibly obtain copies for their children and grandchildren, it might provide a window to remember their own childhood, and hopefully if they do, it will signal a smile."

Rusty Blackwood has written an eclectic array of Contemporary and Traditional poetry, publishing her first collection in October of 2009 entitled, ‘Feelings: A Rhythmic Journey in Thought’.

"I think it's both soothing and healthy to remember one's childhood, the countless memories they provide, the fun, the escapades and wonder they continue to lend," says Rusty. "Often times our childhood helps to shape who we become as adults -- even how we perceive the world around us. Children are truly amazing, their imagination filled with wonderment untold. They may look at the world through innocent eyes, but the knowledge found within their soul is nothing short of exceptional, and never ceases to prove the well used phrase, out of the mouths of babes ; I feel that adage should also include the mind, as well.

Rusty Blackwood has written an eclectic array of Contemporary and Traditional poetry, publishing her first collection in October of 2009 entitled, ‘Feelings: A Rhythmic Journey in Thought’. This was followed in April of 2010 by a collection of assorted short stories for children as well the young at heart entitled, ‘Young Minds’.

Her first venture into the competitive world of main-stream fiction was a long time in the making, but was finally realized in early October 2010 with the release of her debut romance novel, ‘Passion in Paris: Connections to the Past’, the first of two in the ongoing romance/drama. The second part, a romance novel entitled, ‘Passion in Paris: Directions of the Heart’ was released in May 2011 and will be followed by the intriguing drama, ‘Net of Lies’.

Author Rusty Blackwood Releases New Children's Book, 'Through The Eyes Of Innocence'

Canadian Author Rusty Blackwood's new book, 'Through The Eyes Of Innocence' is now available. The new children's book is a collection of short stories for the young and the young at heart

Acclaimed Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, author of the 'Passion In Paris' series, has announced the release of 'Through The Eyes Of Innocence'. The new children's book is a collection of short stories based on her experiences growing up in rural Ontario, Canada.

"I wrote this newly revised book," stated Ms. Blackwood, "based in part on the previously released 'Young Minds' because I not only like to stay in touch with my inner child, which I feel everyone should do as it would be a shame to lose touch with that whimsical time and the memories it gave us, but also for my grandchildren to have a chance to experience through word some of the memories I share within these stories. It is chance to know the child I once was and that is important to me. I remember sharing special times with my paternal grandfather with whom I lived with and I can still feel him near me through the memories he provided. I hope my own grandchildren can experience these same things."

'Through the Eyes of Innocence' is a collection of imaginative short stories for children as well the young at heart who still wish to touch the child dwelling inside each of us. "I believe readers will enjoy this book," continued Ms. Blackwood, "because a child sees the world through innocent, inquisitive eyes, always ready to absorb new realms of the imagination. Whimsical, descriptive stories allow their imagination to be free within the pages they read and to enjoy the experiences of other children which they will read about. I also feel those who are still young at heart will enjoy this book because it provides a window in time to their own childhood, possibly memories of their own special happenings. Hopefully those memories remind them of a wonderful time, laughter, and joy. Children are free of serious demand, especially the demand that comes with adulthood where time is never long enough, and playtime gives way to serious commitment to whatever that may be."

"Never let it be said I rest on my laurels," says Ms. Blackwood, " for there is always something new and exciting around the next bend in the road, inspiration with each new horizon, or new ideas within the avenues of the mind and writing a new piece is no different when it comes to applying any of these methods."

Ms. Blackwood believes the flair for fantasy is anything the mind wishes it to be, and she is a master at this. Within the avenues of her writing is found an endless array of romance, passion, textures and colors to sweep the reader to exotic, faraway places where anything is possible.

How many people, on the drop of a hat can actually hop a plane to a sunny, tropical paradise to find that certain someone waiting with open arms when they land, or find excitement at the top of the Eiffel Tower with the love of your life embracing you tightly, or simply stroll in the park on a dreary afternoon and find the sun shining brightly within the smile of the one you love walking at your side?
