Award-Winning Los Osos couple, Founders of American Heritage Publications, launch Distance Learning Guide for Teachers of the American Revolution, as recent audio production wins national award.
American Heritage Publications https://americanheritagepublications.com #AmericanHeritagePublications will launch its new Standards-based Interactive Teacher’s Guide and coordinating Student Workbook, offering it for FREE through Labor Day. Accompanying audio production with well-known voice actors and a spectacular original music score wins 2020 Independent Press Award.
In order to help teachers and students thrust almost overnight into Distance Learning, professional writing and teaching team -- Thomas N. Mills #ThomasNMills and Beverly Mills #BeverlyMills -- are launching their unique, digital Teachers Guide and Student Workbook for The Gathering Storm in America. During the critical summer planning months, these guides will be offered free of charge until Labor Day and the beginning of the fall semester.
American Heritage Publications may be a small, independent press, but its founders have a long history of excellence in the fields of performance and education. Current and future products will appeal to general audiences, but are designed in particular for the educational market.
“We’re absolutely committed,” said Executive Producer and Distance Learning expert Beverly Manning Mills. “Launching our new guides now allows us to provide a dynamic tool right when teachers need them most. They’ll be preparing for an autumn semester on screens that are needed for distance learning. But these programs can easily be transitioned into blended and classroom learning environments as well. Our ‘new’ history is based on compelling stories that bring history to life.”
And for the general public, anyone who's a fan of "Outlander" Season 5 (STARZ, Prime Video), "The Crossing" with Jeff Daniels (A&E, Amazon) or "John Adams" with Paul Giamatti (Prime Video) will love the rich, historical detail and high drama of "The Gathering Storm."
“Understanding our national roots is critical to the future success of our country and of its citizens,” commented co-founder and writer Thomas N. (Tim) Mills. “Students and teachers alike need a fresh take on the familiar old sayings and founding documents. They need a way to see the relevance of decisions and events of the past, as a way of bringing that history into meaningful existence today.”
Indeed, “History Brought to Life” is the stated mission of the couple’s company, American Heritage Publications. Two fully-produced audio productions of their plays prove their point. The Gathering Storm in America—whose web page includes an intriguing “Time line”—shows the forces at work before the original thirteen colonies reached the tipping point that would lead to the American Revolution.
An intriguing series of posts launch today on social media that pose key questions about the tumultuous early days of America. History buffs, teachers, students, and anyone interested can have fun testing their knowledge by following on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
The playwright of the original offerings from American Heritage is Thomas “Tim” Mills. A life-long love of theatre, which began as a drama student, took him to New York City and landed him a spot at the renowned HB Studio, where he studied with Herbert Berghof and Uta Hagen. As he continued to perform in theatres in New York and around the country, he also began writing and producing plays, eventually taking the helm of the famous Bird Cage Theatre at Knotts Berry Farm. It was here that he met his future partner, Beverly Manning, and began to create a series of plays about the founding of America that would reach hundreds of thousands over a period of years in one of the nation’s iconic theme parks.
Co-founder Beverly Manning Mills is an expert in instructional design with a passion for developing interactive programs for students of all ages. Beverly created Adventures in Education tour programs at Knott’s Berry Farm, and has been a teacher and developer of web-based educational curriculum for many years. Beverly has a profound understanding of how students learn, and of how best to create dynamic tools that engage students. “We started by offering audio productions of the plays,” she explained. “But our goal was always to create accompanying curricular materials that will transform the experience of learning about American history for students all over the country.”
Tim and Beverly Mills located a professional audio production company in Los Angeles to produce their audio plays. Haven Books Audio, established in 1997, has produced numerous award-winning audio books and audio dramas. The Gathering Storm in America Audio was just announced as the Winner of the prestigious Independent Press Award for audio. (#GatheringStorminAmerica) This audio is followed by the Independence Now! Audio. (#IndependenceNow)
They worked with audio producer and actor Mara Purl, who rounded up a stellar cast of voice actors for the project. “One of the marvelously unique aspects of the Mills’ project is that every single character is a real historical figure,” remarked actress Mara Purl. “I was truly honored to be cast as Mercy Otis Warren. She was a great friend of Abigail Adams, and was actually the first woman to record some of the key events of this crucial period in our nation’s history. She was there. She saw it first hand, and shared not only her observations but also her feelings, and those of the other players on this world-stage.”
Purl brought in the well-known composing team, Marilyn Harris and Mark Wolfram, to create an original score for the plays. By turns haunting, inspiring, joyful, and poignant, this unique collection of music has lately been released through Wrightwood Records as "Colonial Scenes: Music inspired by the American Revolution". The composers have distilled the musical essence from this pivotal time in the birth of the United States of America into a satisfying musical collection. Influences of marching, piping (both American & British), dancing in the salon, communicating sorrow, loss, nervous anticipation and remembrance, these musical selections bring you back to a time when saluting the Stars & Stripes meant freedom and independence...but it could also mean treason - and death!
Other actors include the following, with just a few of their many credits: (Alphabetical order)

Jesus Was Born On September 19, 03 BC: God Reveals Jesus’ Birthday To John The Apostle
John the apostle reports that on August 19, 2017, God revealed to him in a dream that Jesus was born on September 19 in the year 3 BC.
A Google Search for the question: “When was Jesus born?” produces about 217,000,000 results. At his https://dazzlinglight.org/ website page “Jesus’ Birthday is 9-19-03 BC”, John the apostle reports that, “On August 19, 2017, God revealed to him in a dream that Jesus was born on September 19 in the year 3 BC.”
At his website page “Jesus’ Birthday is 9-19-03 BC”, John the apostle writes, “Brothers and Sisters could you imagine what would happen if Christian Churches in America started celebrating Christ’s birth on Jesus Birthday of September 19 and not December 25? I wonder, would the nation follow suit or would the public and the private sector retain December 25 as a Secular Holiday?
“In the year 336 AD, the Roman Emperor Constantine started the secular holiday of Christmas when he converted the Roman Holiday of Saturnalia from a drunken orgy to a celebration of Jesus’ birth to improve the morality of the Roman people.
“Whereas the Romans were driven by sexual immorality. Americans are driven by greed. Greed permeates all aspects of American life. The Capitalistic American Economy does not work without greed.
“Brothers and Sisters, can you imagine the economic impact on Americans without Black Friday, without Cyber Monday, without Christmas shopping, without Christmas credit card debt, and without greed?
“Imagine the impact on all of our relationships without the pressure to buy more, more, more for those people we love? And I ask you, when did how much we spend on someone for Christmas become the defining measure of how much we love them?
“Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I would ask each of you this final question about Christmas: Did God send His Son, Jesus, into the world to bolster the American economy in December of each year? Or: Did God send His Son, Jesus, into the world to save us from our sins?”
In an Interview with Pastor Robert Thibodeau on The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast tilted “Surrender to Jesus”, John the apostle termed the current secular holiday of Christmas “The Season of Greed.”
John the apostle and Pastor Thibodeau discussed that “Christmas is demoralizing and leads people into the sin of greed.” They went on to conclude that the current secular celebration of Christmas on December 25th has nothing to do with Jesus’ birth.
John the apostle then suggests that Christian Churches move the celebration of Advent from December to September. At his Dazzling Light Website Page “Advent in September”, John the apostle writes, “Advent is a season observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and the return of Jesus at the Second Coming. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning ‘coming’. Wikipedia And Christ is now calling Christian Churches everywhere to begin a Heavenly Church Revival by celebrating Advent in September.”
At the Dazzling Light Website Page “Advent in December”, John the apostle offers suggested Bible Passages and Sermon Themes for Church Pastors to uses with the five Sundays in Advent associated with the Spiritual Riches of HOPE, LOVE, JOY, PEACE, and CHRIST. John the apostle then concludes the Dazzling Light Website Page “Advent in September” with this prayer, “May Christ be and abide with you and your church as we celebrate together the coming of Jesus the Christ into the world on September 19, 03 BC and prepare for Jesus’ Return on September 19, 2022.”

At his website John reveals. “I am John the apostle from the Bible and I am here for Jesus' Second Coming to Galilee on September 19, 2022. I was born again on October 24, 1982. God spoke to me from the fiery cloud on November 16, 1982. I saw the dazzling light of God’s Glory on January 7, 1983. I received three dreams of Jesus' Second Coming on October 19, 1983, June 21, 1984, and October 19, 1984. Jesus indwelled me and sang at Amity Church on April 14, 1985. Jesus called me to Galilee to write the book ‘Is Your Church Heavenly?’ on January 16, 2005. I saw heaven open beside the Sea of Galilee on January 25, 2005. God revealed to me that Jesus was born on September 19, 03 BC in a dream on August 19, 2017. I bleed from my stigmata on Father’s Day June 17, 2018. During Holy Week of 2019, Jesus gave me Words of Warning for Christian Churches. On April 3, 2020, Christ called me to proclaim this message: ‘BE READY! BE READY! BE READY! Brothers and Sisters in Christ: BE READY for Jesus' return to Galilee on September 19, 2022. BE READY for Jesus’ Second Coming at the Dazzling Light Website."

Read With Me - Author Donna Fletcher Crow Announces New Release Of Elizabeth, Days Of Loss And Hope, With Parallels To Today's Headlines Regarding The Economy
Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history.
Pandemics and plagues have been with us for a very long time, as have hard economic times. While movies and television serve as a means of escape for many of us today, nothing beats an engaging novel as a vehicle to transport us to another place and time. If that novel ties in with something to which we can strongly relate, all the better. Award winning author Donna Fletcher Crow's 'Elizabeth, Days of Loss and Hope', a recently released new edition available online, is such a book. Donna recently wrote an article on literary perspectives on pandemics, plagues and hard times:
"Now, thankfully, the pandemic restrictions are easing for many of us," Crow stated. "Good news, yes, but it is forcing us to look at the economic concerns of what it means for millions of people around the world to be out of work, businesses closed, and supply lines interrupted. The possibility of a depression looms.
"For this, I again turn to literature. I recently met with a book club in another state—over Zoom, of course. I asked their members what they were reading and learned many were reading novels set during the Great Depression. 'It is comforting to see how others have handled things,' one lady said. 'Seeing others endure can help us endure,' another said. 'Seeing others make the most of a terrible situation can help us find courage to face our own challenges,' a gentleman offered.
"My mother often quoted the old saying, 'Misery loves company.' I’ve never been very comforted by the idea that others were suffering with me; I’m far more of a Pollyanna who wants everyone to be happy. But the value of the concept of community can’t be over-stated. We can all take great comfort from the fact that we are in this together—and we will come through it together. As we always have.
"Simply typing 'hard times' into an Amazon search will turn up an almost endless list of non-fiction books on that topic, including Studs Terkel’s classic 'Hard Times'. In the fiction department, it would be hard to beat John Steinbeck’s Pulitzer-prize-winning epic 'The Grapes of Wrath'.
"The newly released edition of 'Elizabeth, Days of Loss and Hope', book 2 in my Daughters of Courage family saga, portrays just such situations in farming communities in southwestern Idaho. Based on historic events, many from my own family, we see, time and again, people banding together to help each other through dire circumstances."
Elizabeth has one goal in life—to go to college and become a teacher. But it is 1929 in Kuna, Idaho, and the small family farm doesn’t produce enough to send both Elizabeth and her twin brother to college. Just when it seems Elizabeth’s dreams might come true the stock market crashes and the devastating Great Depression engulfs the nation. Overnight Elizabeth’s anxiety about tuition payments is superseded by fear that her parents will lose the farm. Is this one disaster that even Elizabeth’s faith in hard work and God can’t overcome?
Donna Fletcher Crow is the author of 50 books, mostly novels of British history. She has taken a number of high-level industry awards for her work. 'Glastonbury' is her best-known book, which received the prestigious First Place, Historical Novel, award from the National Federation of Press Women. Readers and reviewers have raved about 'Glastonbury', calling it "The best of its kind," "richly fascinating," "beautifully researched," "gloriously evocative," and "panoramic." One Amazon reader said, "WHAT a work! Every reader can be enveloped in the sheer scope and quality, every historian be constantly nodding at the precise detail and accuracy, and every Christian can rejoice in the fullness of scripture. For me it is simply beyond descriptive praise. I would urge all who value truth to treat themselves to a feast."
The Daughters of Courage, 'Kathryn', 'Elizabeth' and 'Stephanie' is a pioneer family saga based on the stories of Crow's own family and other Idaho pioneers in the Kuna, Nampa and Boise area. A short story on her blog entitled “A Nostalgic Fourth of July” is based on a scene from ‘Kathryn: Days of Loss and Hope'.
The Monastery Murders Series features atmospheric contemporary crimes with their roots buried deep in the middle ages. Books in the series include 'A Very Private Grave', 'A Darkly Hidden Truth', 'An Unholy Communion', 'A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary' and 'An All-Consuming Fire' and the upcoming 'Against All Fierce Hostility.'
The Elizabeth & Richard Mysteries is a literary suspense series using literary figures as background: Rudyard Kipling in 'The Flame Ignites', Dorothy L Sayers in 'The Shadow of Reality', Shakespeare in 'A Midsummer Eve's Nightmare', and Jane Austen in both 'A Jane Austen Encounter' and 'A Most Singular Venture'. Watch for 'A Prodigious Sum of Corpses: Seeking Sanditon at Jane Austen’s Seashore', which will take readers to all of Austen’s favorite seashore resorts. Accounts of Crow’s visits to these sites are available on her blog under the heading “Jane Austen Seashore Tour.”
The Lord Danvers Victorian true-crime series is an Amazon bestseller in the British Detectives category. Books in the series include 'A Lethal Spectre', 'A Most Inconvenient Death', 'Grave Matters', 'To Dust You Shall Return' and 'A Tincture of Murder'. Donna provides a no-charge download of 'A Tincture of Murder' for those who sign up for her newsletter. More information is available at her website.

Rebooting During The Covid-19 Pandemic - Award Winning Selfie Filmmaker Barbara Becker Holstein To Create Historical Record Of Videos Received From Pandemic Survivors
Dr. Holstein is an award winning Selfie Filmmaker, Positive Psychologist and podcaster who helps us overcome anxiety and alienation through multiple media channels.
Human beings are forced to reboot many, many times during their lifetime, From new loves to new jobs, from elementary school to high school, from graduation to career, from marriage to divorce - even from the old set of teeth to that new set of teeth that came in when we were children. Never has the human race been required to reboot on a global scale until the Covid-19 pandemic, however.
Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein intends to create an historical record of selfie films from pandemic survivors and is now actively seeking selfie videos for the collection. Those who wish to submit their own selfie films can do so at http://www.SelfieFilmmakers.com.
"I really want you to start to do those selfie videos about yourself, your family, your kids, your grandkids, Dr. Holstein stated. "Interview your grandkids, ask them how they're liking or not liking being homeschooled by their moms and dads or their older brother and sister.
"Ask them what they think the future will be like. Ask your own kids what's been hard, what's been easy. Talk about yourself, what you're doing, what you're not doing what you miss most, what you hope the future will be like.
"Upload your selfie films then to selfiefilmmakers.com, where I am beginning to build a historical log of how people are reacting, what they're saying and what their kids are saying. Make a video with your cell phone, at most two minutes and upload it to Selfie Filmmakers or put it on YouTube and send us the link.
"Rebooting and seeing how we can make the new normal as great as possible is not only important for mental health, but it's important for the historical story of ourselves as human beings."
Dr. Holstein's talk about Rebooting During The Pandemic can be found on both Vimeo and on the Roku channel, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.
Dr. Holstein recently created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people. She is now accepting submissions from the public for the "Selfie Showcase" and is actively seeking change-makers and mental health professionals to appear on her monthly video podcasts.
The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfies or selfie films around important subjects, using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in a number of ways, some of the issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.
Selected participants may appear on the Selfie Project Channel, available on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3uaOTcYF70z5CpBh11VoUQ. They will also appear in the Selfie Showcase on SelfieFilmmakers.com. They will receive a certificate of merit and may be invited to be on Holstein's monthly podcast or perhaps be a part of her next film. Full details, rules for submission and helpful hints can be accessed at the Selfie Filmmakers site at http://www.selfiefilmmakers.com/instructions.
