Suicide And Suicide Prevention: Pat Chalfant, Author Of 'Spirit Lights', Offers A Unique Perspective

Robin Williams' suicide brought the subject of consciously choosing death to the forefront of our collective consciousness. Pat Chalfant reminds us that suicide is not necessarily the end and that there is hope for those whose lives have been affected by suicide

Suicide statistics are staggering. According to the CDC website, suicide is ranked in 10th place in leading causes of death. These sobering statistics show us that no group - regardless of age, race or gender - is unaffected. Pat Chalfant, CARE Certified medium and author of 'Spirit Lights A Path to Mediumship' believes suicide is not the end of one's existence. Like Pat, many people believe this to be the case. Chalfant however offers proof.

"I have a story in the beginning of my book," Chalfant stated, "about a woman named Sonia whose fiancé committed suicide and subsequently she began to have suicidal ideology, too.  She got in touch with me hoping to  study with me until she was able to contact him on the Other Side of life for herself.  I gave her a reading first and successfully identified him as a spirit trying to reach her, and because of that she asked to study with me.  I told her she probably wouldn’t learn enough to be able to reach him for quite some time.  She said she still wanted to try."

"She was miraculously cured of her suicidal ideology one day as she and I were meditating together when she saw her fiancé and knew he was alive now and perfectly well and happy.  Then she saw Jesus Christ (remarkable because she was a Hindu and had never read the Christian Bible). The effects of that experience lingered so strongly with her for weeks afterward that she could close her eyes and would see the image of Christ’s face, just as he had looked when she was 'cured'.”

Chalfant's new book, 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', explains how she, a real skeptic regarding such matters, developed mediumship abilities and now lives a life transformed by the spiritual. She considers her groundbreaking book to be an "autobiographical textbook".

Mediumship is a controversial issue and Pat understands this, but she also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of real benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored. This is especially true for those who are contemplating suicide, or those whose lives have been affected by suicide or loss of a loved one.

In addition to offering one-on-one client consultations, Pat has penned the 'Spirit Lights Song Book' and three of those songs are in the National Spiritualist Ass’n of Churches hymn book. She does readings for clients by phone and teaches mediumship development classes. She has also created a DVD entitled 'Spirit Lights Psychic Development DVD'.

"The book would be an ideal Holiday gift for those who need some inspiration or a lift of Spirit during the Holiday Season," Chalfant stated. "This time of year can be difficult for some people. The book would be a great gift for those who hope to take their budding mediumship abilities to the next level. The four five-star reviews of the book include: ‘Mediumship at its finest,’ ‘Great book. Well written and very inspirational,’ ‘Helpful for beginners and all levels,’ ‘This book is one of the best.’"
